I'm running a character right now that is level 19 that is 9 Glamour Bard/10 Abjuration Wizard. I get bonus action Command, Silvery Barbs, bonus action Dispel Magic that doesn't use a slot if it fails, and Counterspell that doesn't use a slot if it fails. I use my bonus action on bosses as an opener. They can either burn a legendary resistance or let it go through and go prone. If they go prone, all good. If they don't, I hit them with am enchantment effect. Whatever happens, our Div wizard usually backs me up. It's great for shutting down bosses. I'm having so much fun running it, and my DM is getting a thousand yard stare.

Re: Plasmoid Druid in the intestines - So much worse than turning into a dinosaur and making them explode: Wildshape can fuse anything youre "wearing or touching" into it. You can bring them into wildshape with you, fly off as a bird and then wildshape into a different bird, choosing to drop your "equipment" this time, causing them to fall uncontrollably with no save from a height of your choosing.

Another fun war crime: GOOlocks can cast any warlock spell without verbal or somatic components as long as it's an enchantment or illusion. Mind sliver is a warlock cantrip, and an enchantment with no material component. Using one of the invisible or shape changing familiars, by level 5 you don't even need to be in the room or within sight to melt anyone's brain. And as a warlock cantrip, it's eligible for agonizing blast and other invocations. Enjoy!

Another great option for devine intervention is to read about "glyph of warding" then look at spirit gurdians, bestow curse and spirit shroud, and say "what's this concentration sign? I don't need it" If you choose bestow curse it's funny to say "FoolishCursedOneSaysWhat?"

I'd have 2 Pact Slots to cast Shatter with (with which I'd wait until the Legendary Resistances have been used, obviously). The rest: just spamming Toll the Death 29:30 Only if you first hit the enemy with a melee attack though

About the "Shape Water" crime, a Bag of Holding is only good up to 500lbs and 1 cubic foot of water weighs 62.4 pounds. That means roughly 8 cubic feet of water can be stored in the bag, basically a cube 2 feet across. Granted 500lbs still makes a decent hit, but it's no insta-kill. According to the DMG's table for improvising damage it'd be somewhere around 4d10 (hit by falling rubble in a collapsing tunnel) . A full 5 foot cube would probably be 10d10 (crushed by compacting walls).

Yeah…. there is even a Crawford ruling about this because with every other time you can push creatures it will ecologically state “straight away” in some way or another If you know the nuances of DnD rules, there is a lot of mistakes or intentional misinterpretations in practically every one of his videos If you have new players tell them not to watch him….. Every time he pops up in my feed I watch a video and end up being pissed and clicking “do not recommend this creator” I mean…. First mistake not even 10 seconds into the half hour video

Nothing about tempest cleric says you CAN'T choose the direction. I don't recall any other skill, feat, trait, or spell mentioning you can choose the knock back direction either. I'd say a safe assumption is that you knock them back in the opposite direction your shot came from, so if you hit them from below, then they fly up? If you hit them from 600 feet away, they probably just get launched back horizontally.

@@ynedd DND is you can only do it if the rules say you can, For everything else, it's DM's call. For instance, there are NO rules in the 2014 edition about what you can or cannot do while dead. The rules don't actually say you lose your actions, or ability to think or ability to communicate. So by the logic you stated here, since the rules don't say you CAN'T, once you have the dead status, you should be able to get up and keep fighting more. Losing all your HP is just a 3-5 turn delay. Thunderous Strike, the ability that grants this, specifies "10ft away from you", suggesting a horizontal strike. Especially when you are already 600ft away and 10ft up in the air wont be significantly away from you.

The shape water one always makes me laugh, because the spell states that the water moved does not have the force to deal damage. Instead when it lands on a square occupied by a creature it would be force moved to an adjacent square much like dimension door does if the caster ends up inside a solid object. The ice just takes 1d6 force damage and is placed in a random space adjacent to the creature it was originally over.

So, question about the feat Cartomancer. If you are multiclassed, does the feat allow you to choose spells from levels where you have slots, but not known spells? As an example, could a Bard 15 / Paladin 5 use the feat Cartomancer to get access to the spell True Polymorph, even if he has not learned 9th level spells yet. The wording of the feat seems to say yes, “When you finish a long rest, you can choose one spell from your class’s spell list and imbue that spell into a card. The chosen spell must have a casting time of 1 action, and it must be a level for which you have spell slots.” If that is the correct interpretation? I see nothing in the language to contradict this, and if I am missing something, please, point it out. I am curious.

And that's what's wrong with 5E, they nerfed monsters in to the ground. In earlier editions the Tarrasque had regeneration that could not be stopped, meaning it was immortal and could regen limbs in minutes. it still lacked ranged options bt had a 30% chance to bounce any spell cast at it back on the and that's only if you beat the spell resistance that had a better than 50% chance to negate the spell, also it crit on an 18 for triple damage. The old Tarrasque was a heinous fight.

I don't see how the tempest cleric combo works with a long bow, I believe most DMs would interpret "away from you" as in the direction of the attack, so unless you are shooting from under the creature in an angle, i don't think it would work.

Every attack, not every attack roll, the roll's already been made,it just applies to Jeff instead Any spell that you can cast. You can't cast Fireball or Wish with just a one level dip Spike Growth, the creature only takes the damage once per(their) turn

The Werewolf doesn't explode. It is immune to bludgeoning damage from non-magical non-silvered attacks. Expanding inside someone should deal bludgeoning damage, and since it's essentially an unarmed strike from a creature that's not a monk and doesn't have an silver attached to it, you would deal zero damage to it. Instead, I'd rule that you would do half of that damage to yourself.

I think the magic of a growing brachiosaurus inside a werewolf’s small intestine is enough to bypass that resistance. Besides that, it’s like a chest buster, and I wouldn’t classify that as bludgeoning damage at all.

Actually RAW: "You can't willingly end a move in a space occupied by another creature.". So a plasmoid can't stop moving to use wild shape inside a werewolf. As a DM I would remind the player who tries that of this rule, and if the player persists, i'll just rule that he is forcefully expelled out of the creature and is prone now.
