Lon McEachern and Norman Chad are the most deserving nominees for the Poker Hall of Fame this year. For over two decades, their iconic commentary has transformed poker broadcasts, making the game more entertaining for millions. Their insightful analysis and engaging humor have significantly contributed to poker's popularity and growth. With a lasting legacy in poker broadcasting, they continue to inspire new generations of enthusiasts. Their unparalleled contributions beyond the felt make them exemplary candidates for the Hall of Fame.

Lon and Norman they are the voices of the WSOP Main Event. They have been together for over twenty years and they brought in the Moneymaker era with their iconic words. Especially the Moneymaker-Ivey confrontation.
@thomasrudd14183 ай бұрын
Norman and Lom. I Have been watching them commentate on the WSOP for years. The way that they could explain the actions of the players as well as getting into their thought process made it simple for those of us who knew nothing of the games at the time to follow and understand. The comedic aspect of Norman at times kept the people who would drift at times engaged. In this way, they have reached so many people and brought them into the game, whether as just fans or new players. This is why I think they deserve to be in the Hall of Fame and quite a long time coming too.
@griffeyjeter2423 ай бұрын
Lon McEachren & Norman Chad should be the nomination for the Hall of Fame. They were the original commentators for all WSOP coverage on ESPN and literally helped bring the game to the mass audience it now has. They explained the game, the backgrounds of each of the players (including "nicknames" that may never be known such as "Kid Poker"), and helped bring the game from the back rooms into main stream. Neither have been recognized for their role in the "Poker Boom" but they are absolutely apart of that. Their dynamic with each other on the commentary brought a different perspective on the game as we watched and learned. These two should be recognized for their amazing contribution to WSOP that we all now know.

Lon McEachren and Norman Chad’s amazing commentary and hilarious banter is what originally got me interested in poker, and I imagine this was the case for millions of others who saw the main event on ESPN back in the day. @@manwithoutparachute4207 I understand this argument. I mean the baseball HOF is littered with early picks who may have been good for their time but lack what is considered Hall worthy stats now. That being said I disagree with that take here. The poker Hall has been very stingy with the amount of people who get in and I'm not sure why. Regarding the Hall of Fame,, Although many on this list are deserving, for me it should be Lon & Norman.. They have been on the scene together since 2002 when Moneymaker won the main event.. I can honestly say, had it not been for Lon's colorful insight and Norman's comedic relief *(Especially, when he brings up his "Previous Life" and talks about his ex wife(s)) I'm not sure poker would be where it is today.. they kept me watching even when the game got boring.. Fast forward 22 years later, and I cannot imagine WSOP without them calling the game.. Nostalgic, sure.. but great insight and knowledge of the game, coupled with Lon's soothing voice and Norman's comic relief,, These guys have mastered their craft and put the WSOP on the map and are well deserving of HOF recognition..
