I think the problem with people discussing this is that many people view it as racist or prejudice towards people of Muslim faith.... I feel like people need to open there eyes more and see what's right in front of them. To be fair though Catholics, Christians, Jews, atheists, men, women, black, white, and so on, really aren't good at taking criticism without saying it's prejudice..... I myself am Catholic, but unlike some other catholics I can actually open my eyes, and listen to what people have to say, and sometimes there right.... Like when people criticize the Catholic church of being greedy.... It's true, and they talk a lot of nonsense as well.... It's just one of those things that will get better with time, but either way wish you luck finding the right one🥂

I have listened to many Muslim men on youtube talking about prospective wives, and wives, their daughters and sisters.... it was all too depressing. They certainly hate western women, but they seemed to despise Muslim women just as much. I listened to religious leaders advising fathers not to be in the same room as their little daughters incase they became aroused.... good grief this was their daughters!!!! Men laughing about how many wives they could have, and how to get rid of them. Little girls being married off when their bodies were too young to give birth. I could go on. There must be a high degree of mental health issues within the Muslim female community... but because of their circumstances never gets treated. One lady stated she had been abused physically and mentally for 45 years in her marriage.... she was simply told she would be rewarded after her death for perservering. Truly depressing, no one should have to endure this, when the UK has laws in place to protect women from physical and controlling behaviour.

That's a wise comment man. Either way in muslim countries we can see a variety of iterations of the holy guidelines. This woman who you admire is either very ill informed or deliberately misinforms the very naive and emotional Western audience. For example, she constantly talks about FGM (female genital mutilation) in Islamic world. FGM is not an Islamic issue, it is a cultural issue which she does not (I think deliberately) mention. My background is Iranian, I am an atheist but I have to push back and say that there is no such a thing as FGM. In fact, I had never heard of it until I moved to Canada at the age of 20 and heard it from Oprah who, similar to this woman is very good at generalization without much research. It would be beneficial for general audience to mention that some of the countries with high cases of FGM are not Muslim majority countries, e.g. Ethiopia, Ivory Coast and Uganda

I think we are overdue as a species to have evolved to be able to see our own humanity in others and treat them accordingly. And I have been indoctrinated with sexism as much as anyone, even though it's wrong, I find myself let down that there are no men fighting to defend and protect their own sisters and wives. When a culture encodes into law and sanctions the abuse and terrorism of its most vulnerable property, there is a toxic kind of self-hatred at work that I pray doesn't spread like disease. No one, anywhere, should stand by in silence frankly while a beautiful car has its gears stripped by a bad driver, or while a dog is beaten by its owner, or while people walk into a holy place with light clean carpets wearing outdoor shoes. If we can understand basic principles of care and respect, even for inanimate objects, we must account for how we treat humans, God's most beloved creation. How do we respond? We (me) play god and sit in judgement on each other but do nothing at all.

I live in South Africa, here our rights are protected. The countries that are politically oppressed are experiencing this. Muslim men are trying to protect their mothers, wives and daughters from the monsters that are oppressing them, unfortunately, they are coming off as if they are the oppressors. Women rarely stare & creep at men the way men stare at women. Maybe that's why all 3 Abrahamic religions impose that law. I was just watching a CNN news about a girl being murdered just because she mistaken a random car for her uber driver. There are pros and cons to every side. The quran's reference to the hijab is in verse 35:59 : "O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful." And the bible's: "And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for it is just as if her head were shaved. 6If a woman does not cover her head, let her hair be cut off. And if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. 7A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.…"

Islam claims that men are a degree above women and are their guardians who can discipline them for being disobedient as prescribed by allah to protect them. An ideology that only allows multiple wives but not multiple husbands is sexist. An ideology which claims that men are the guardians of women (who can discipline them when they are disobedient) as prescribed by allah to protect them is sexist. An ideology which provides virgins for men in heaven but no such equivalent for women is not only sexist but really twisted as well. It is no less offensive to me than an ideology which promotes white supremacy (but there is so much more about islam which is extremely contemptible other than the overt sexism). Google worst countries for women (almost all muslim) and best countries for women (none are muslim), google Gender Gap Index (it is about much more than wage equality), no muslim countries in the top 50, most of the worst 50 countries are muslim. It seems that secular teachings and man's laws are much more effective at protecting women than god's laws and teachings.. This couldn't possibly be so if allah was truly the all-knowing omnipotent creator of the world which he is purported to be. Women have been executed for being raped in muslim countries. Western women have been imprisoned for being raped in muslim countries. Today girls and women have been, are being and will be killed by their own family members because off this ideology they espouse, yesterday girls and women were killed by their own family members because of this ideology they espouse (and so many Western leaders and other apologists pander to enabling its proliferation) and tomorrow girls and women will be killed by their own family members because of this barbaric 7th century ignorance.

@@waheedabashir4898 Islam is fundamentally misogynist and the world would be better off without it. The nikaab exists to cover women because they are considered a man's property their whole lives, so yes, it should never have been invented. It over-sexualizes women, even children, and it doesn't prevent any of the things apologists claim it does (rape, sexual harassment, etc.). All it does is assert that a woman's hair, neck, etc. are fundamentally sexual in nature, her body is inherently lewd and must be covered up, and if it isn't she's fair game for abuse (even though she will be abused even if she keeps it on). I'm disgusted by men I see in the summer in board shorts, wife beater, douchebag chains and sandals, walking around with a woman in a full burka, totally black (they are never white, unlike most men's clothing in the arab region; if she's lucky it could be blue; a not-so-subtle hint they don't want women walking around outside?).

I'd like to see a woman interviewing her. This would be more credible. If my English was better I would destroy her generalizing claims in a few minutes. Because it's absolute bs, what she's saying. First of all, not all the Arabic speaking cultures are the same. There are s.c. Arabs from Maghreb to Sham (Syria&Iraq). There is a huge difference between those mentalities. And a lot of Arab men may be more conservative than western men. But that doesn't mean, that they hate women. Japanese men are more traditional, too. Their wives stay at home, if they got children. Does this mean that they hate women??? As I was in a few Arab countries, like for example Morocco or Egypt, I noticed that simply education is important. A farmer from the village is not similar to an educated arabic man from the city. There's a big difference.

I just watched a video, an American soldier in Afghanistan speaks about the American soldiers raping muslim women just because they can. I live in South Africa, here our rights are protected. The countries that are politically oppressed are experiencing this. Muslim men are trying to protect their mothers, wives and daughters from the monsters that are oppressing them, unfortunately, they are coming off as if they are the oppressors. Nobody is speaking up about the west's abuse of the Muslim women but everyone sees the Muslim man trying to marry off his daughter to protect her
