China has basically been closed for the last 3 years, but on Jan. 8th, things will finally start to open up and make traveling in and to China a little easier. I thought it would be a great time to show you some of the best places to travel to in China. I invited some KZbinr friends to help introduce some of the best places to visit in China in 2023.

Wow I am totally blown away by all the places in China. The country is huge and i guess there are even more interesting places than what was shown in this video. Wish i could work and live there for 2-3 years to visit the country. China is definitely a place I want to live in.

if we talk about the mountains, then I definitely recommend Zhangjiajie (mountains in Avatar) or Yellow mountain in China!

Great! 12 places of 12 months. There are more than 4 seasons in China with extremes of mountains and deserts most people never experienced before. In the summer one can take SUV rides to the Himalayas, or go through northern China into Russian Siberia. In winter you can take train from Yunnan to Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and back to China. Enter in Beijing and depart from Shanghai will not disappoint.

I am glad I found your channel a few months ago after I retired in November, 2021. All these videos showing beautiful places that I would have no knowledge or idea that’s China as we left in 1958 from a very poor village in Guangdong. Taisan County. China has the dynamic changes since 1978. The Big Bay is the most prosperous area in China and you can visit your hometown this year. It will give you a big shock of your hometown change. You can enjoy your retirement life in Taishan .

@@bryandeng570 thank you for you suggestion Bryan. The village I came from was far from the smaller town (Shui Bou) 水歩墟 . It was a 45 minutes walk. The bigger town of the county was Tai Sheng （台城）。 The village is about 75 km from Guangzhou by looking at Google Map. Seems to me that you know the area pretty well. I have not been back to southern China but many 16 hours trip to Qingdao for business before 2003. We just moved from Toronto to Montreal QC. Learning French now. Have nice day.

@@michaelhui6311 No worries. I live in Shenzhen ,close to Hongkong. I think the county name of 台城 should be 台山 now . The famous overseas Chinese hometown ,五邑area . If you took flight from Toronto to Hongkong, it will be a good choice. From Hongkong to Taishan, it will take 2-3hours for you to ride a long coach . There are the comprehensive highway network in Guangdong now and easy to reach most of towns in the Big Bay Area.

Totally agree with James about visiting a Hakka (Tulou) in Fujian, my guide was from the family & it was so interesting learning about her culture. Surprised Xi’an isn’t here but maybe it’s a bit too obvious as like Hangzhou it’s a popular tourist destination I’d recommend any visitors to China visit both places. I went to Xi’an to see the Terracotta Warriors but found it to also have a fabulous night food market & be a very interesting town. Hangzhou is beautiful. Trip Bitten, could you add the names of the recommended places, please? I’ve visited a few of them but others are new to me but I didn’t catch the names of some of them.

Theme parks aren't for everyone, but they can be fun for a day. If you are coming to China, I wouldn't suggest it because there are many other interesting places to visit.

Another natural scenic spot that is as famous as Jiuzhaigou in China is Huangshan Mountain. We Chinese always say that we won't go to others water scenery when we come back from Jiuzhaigou, and we won’t go to other mountains when we come back from Huangshan Mountain.
