I think it's more a case of, are we in heaven or hell immediately when we die, or are we in the grave until the judgement? The Bible isn't clear on this as there are scriptures to support both views.

Everyone is judged when they die. God explains to heretics why they are being sent to hell, before He puts them there.

@@NHisBlood So, this verse is referring to “Abraham’s Bosom”. This was the realm of the righteous dead, who were waiting for Christ to accomplish The Redemption. You never heard that?

@@HellFirepreacher “Test the spirits to see whether they are of God.” Historically it was The Catholic and Orthodox Churches who reserved the right to define heresy. Individuals didn’t start taking on this role until the reformation (sixteenth century).

@@johnsteila6049 The catholic church, whos pope just said that "All religions are a pathway to God" and that they adore the one God together with Muslims. No thanks Or the Orthodox? The Orthodox who are in constant schism with each other and can't even agree on territorial issues to sit down to form an "ecumenical council". Not to mention they don't have a solidified canon of scripture, and are at odds with each other concerning the rebaptism of other Christian denominations. I just got done doing a one year inquiry into both of these so called "one true churches", and they are both a complete mess, and are so far from Biblical doctrine it's crazy.
