@@johnpaullogan1365 They first didn't want to kill the dog because it would be considered "too violent" and they were afraid they would get all sort of anti animal cruelty groups on them. But they showed 2 versions in closed circles... where they beat him up and stole the car. And where they killed Daisy and stole the car after beating him up. They almost cancelled the whole movie over this dilemma because of fear of repercussions. Thank God they had the balls to keep this version and release it.

“Kill a dog and even the ladies are screaming bloody murder” …. correction, kill a puppy and ESPECIALLY the ladies will be willing to deal death upon those responsible. Yet you’re correct, it’s the exact reason they had it in the movie, in 99.9% of the viewer’s minds all the carnage that follows is “justified” due to the puppy being killed.

I'm shocked by how many KZbinrs don't get that stealing the car and beating up John (which led to killing Daisy) isn't just about the car for Iosef. For Iosef, it's about "respect," and I put that in quotes because what it's really about is Iosef's insecurity. He's a spoiled weakling and a coward and lives in fear of having to admit it. When John stood up to him by refusing his offer and showed him up by getting the last word and made him look foolish for assuming John wouldn't understand Russian, Iosef lost face in front of his goons, so he felt the need to re-assert his dominance and retake his "dignity" by punishing John. That's like Psychology of Bullies 101.

Thank you for pointing that out. So many miss that. The same reason that Viggo had to make, at least, a token effort to kill John and save his son. If he had just given him up, or tried to buy John off, he would have looked weak and lost face in his organization. So he had to send the kill team. And why, when they had him, they couldn't just kill him when he was unconscious. To do that would show his men he was still scared of him. So he had to wake him up, question him, and torture him him before killing him. But, when John had a shotgun to his face, and they were alone, he could cut his son loose, having tried to save him.

Viggo is played by Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist, who first became internationally popular in _The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo_ (2009) - the original Swedish-language version, not the David Fincher-directed English-language remake - and its two sequels. He was usually very interesting to watch on-screen and his acting was great too. Sadly Michael passed away in 2017 at the age of just 56 after succumbing to lung cancer.

The doorman at the club (Francis) had John ask how much weight he had lost. he was actually asking how many bad guys were there. His answer was 60. The dog at the end had a tag on it's cage that said he was due to be put down. That's why John took him. Also that dog is actually Keanu's real dog. The guy who killed the 1st puppy felt so bad about that scene that he later adopted the pup and took it home. Chrissie, you are going to love the rest of the series, No spoilers from me but trust me great guest stars and the action gets even more intense. you will also learn more about some of the characters. When John asks how much weight Francis lost, Francis actually says in Russian 27 kgs. Twenty-seven kilograms is roughly 60 lbs. when converted from metric, and there are 27 guards in the club. But as many have pointed out in the years since, it has only increased in popularity. Constantine's path is similar to movies like the Crow, Blade, Resident Evil, and Sucker Punch in that none of them smashed at the box office, but have since become a large part of people's movie library. Great reaction Chrissie like always, i love the John Wick franchise all of them. This is one delightful surprise in the film was the creation of the hit man subcultureOne delightful surprise in the film was the creation of the hit man subculture. What makes the dogs death scene hit HARDER is the fact that, if you pay close attention, there's a blood trail. His puppy crawled over TO him to die. :( If you notice the end scene with the bridge in the back, that's where his wife died. He knew he couldn't make it back to the continental so he went there because he knew it had medical supplies. And some fun facts, John Wick got his name from a real person. When Kolstad was writing Scorn, he decided to name his protagonist after his grandfather, John Wick, a businessman who owned Wick Building Systems in Madison, Wisconsin. Kolstad was initially worried his grandfather might not consider it a compliment, Wick is a contract killer, after all, but the real Wick was flattered. “I was tickled by Derek using my name for a movie, and the hit man character was frosting on the cake,” the real Wick told Madison magazine in 2017. The studio never really wanted John Wick's dog to die. Despite everything in the John Wick series being set in motion by the senseless murder of his dog Daisy, Lionsgate executives were apprehensive about that particular plot detail. As Hollywood thinking goes, audiences hate seeing animals harmed. The detail was in flux right up until a preview screening, in which audiences understood it would take a serious infringement to get Wick out of retirement. “There was this pushback and pushback from all different angles until that first screening,” Derek Kolstad said in 2020. “We were watching the audience. As soon as the dog died, and seeing their reaction and then seeing the siege in house, we were like, yep, we were right.” Btw if you are wondering what was the body count is this movie the number is 77. Keep up the amazing work.

@YoureMrLebowski9 ай бұрын
@@chrissiereacts i've went through the first edit basically picking out everyone's moments. so about halfway through. no rush on the John Wick footage, i won't start editing on it for 3 or 4 weeks.

Nice Chrissie. This is a really good linear movie. It's a shame they made sequels. And Constantine is brilliance. Definitely check that one out. Edit: And yeah, Corporate is pure genius.

Not a fan of the sequels?
@nickschnider919111 ай бұрын
@@chrissiereactssome people enjoy some of the sequels more; however the first movie can stand on it's own without the franchise no problem.
@steved113511 ай бұрын
@@chrissiereacts Hi there. Well, to be fair, they're fine. But just iterations of the first movie, so, nothing special. I prefer when the originality of a movie, or even TV show, is respected for itself and not subsequently watered down by sequels. Things like The Matrix, or Prison Break, should have just stopped with the first... I know, this isn't a popular opinion, lol. And I know, sequels happen just because of the producing companies, but I find that sad...

I found the second film a little boring in that the action sequences becoming repetitive. The third film is ridiculous. Didn't bother with the fourth film
@MichaelSmith-rp6ud11 ай бұрын
This one is great. In my opinion the sequels are no where near as great but it seems mine is the minority opinion. I feel the same way about the matrix - the first is brilliant, the sequels are inferior and really just cashing in on the fan base.

You could do worse than Casablanca. May as well get that one out of the way, if by chance you haven't seen it. IMNSHO, a reaction channel that never watches Casablanca is like an a cappella group that never sings Lion Sleeps. That aside... This entire franchise is action movie gold, sequels included. The mirror maze sequence in Chapter 2 gives Enter the Dragon a run for its money, and bonus points for putting old-school Commodore computers on celluloid in the 21st century.

The only reason John did spare the doorman (Kevin Nash) was because he told John how many men there was inside in code. 60 pounds = 60 bodys with guns
