Awesome Job! I loved the video. Just a clarification, the original Dinas are powered and were a collaboration between Joe N Tell and I. A huge shout out to him. These are the new passive versions that you can hook up to any amplifier. Thanks Again for the awesome video! You killed it!

How do these compare to the original powered DINAS (Which I am nearing completion of building, and very much looking forward to trying). Is the box dims the same with the side mounted PR? How is the frequency response altered in comparison? Thanks Matt

How much is the cost of the crossover for 2 speakers?

one of the subwoofer utility is to take on its own job to produce the very low Frequencies (the low bass frequency20-80hz) (not the ordinary bass frequencies or the (woofer frequencies 80-300hz)instead making the woofer produces them because that can damages the woofer by time), so the subwoofer protects actually the woofer by preventing it producing these extra low frequencies, so we need a Low-Pass-Filter connected to the subwoofer.

I love this small PR design. I'd like to see as small sub design with 2 opposing subs and 4 passive radiators, perhaps 5.25 or 6.5" & stackable with legs. With no flat surfaces, it would be tough to mount an amp or just passive inputs, but it would look cool.

Head over to toidsdiyaudio.com to get the plans and a flat pack. Small correction: I misspoke in the video. I used Minwax Polycrylic, not Polyshades. amzn.to/37yH2O1

I built a pair of these speakers, and you don’t need a subwoofer. However, you do need a 75W per channel amp to drive the bass.

Where your speakers are placed for best sound is not always where you should place subs for best bass. So you always need subwoofer unless you get lucky with your room.

Great video! Was thinking of placing a car audio component set in enclosures but not sure where to start with box size / design. This seem, albeit more expensive, like a better way to go. I'm a big fan of Danish Oil for wood finish but the blue looks wild!

The blue is brazen and wild but tbh I would prefer danish oil. What is the total cost of this project? Tangband subs and cnc cut wood does not seem cheap
@DIYAudioGuy
@DIYAudioGuy 2 жыл бұрын
It was definitely a bold color choice. Honestly I'm not sure what the total cost is, I never actually planned out any kind of budget for this. Partly because I had some of the drivers laying around and partly because Nick sent me a lot of the other stuff that I needed.

Probably, but they are a bit large for a desktop system.
@danrussell9357
@danrussell9357 2 жыл бұрын
Because these are three-way speakers, you can build them with bi-amp terminal cups so that you can drive the bass woofers on their own. However, the crossover is so well designed that they sound great in just a two-channel set up.
@razerfangegaming8548

Sir, respectfully, you're asking the wrong question 1 - everyone needs subwoofer bro, because amplified lower registers add 'warmth' and 'depth' to the audio experience 2 - the 'woofers' you have installed into said boxes are in fact subwoofers. I know this just by looking at them. Those puppies can easily hit 35-40Hz with no distortion under the right conditions. I believe the appropriate question here is: How much subwoofer do you need? Answer: All the Subwoofer, because reasons Miss me with the poppycock

Yep, how many do you need is the right question!
