@2011blueman3 жыл бұрын
@@khakiswag That's on Ford, they chose the supplier and set the time tables. When launching a new vehicle you need to have your suppliers running at full speed months before the beginning of building in order to troubleshoot. That's especially true for the Bronco where over over two thirds of orders are with hardtops. They've known roughly how many hardtops and other components they'd need since the build&price tool came out and they could see what most people were building. I have a build date supposedly in a couple weeks (it's already been moved before), and I'll be livid if the hard top is as bad as some I've seen on the forums when we've waited this long. Good point on the simplicity and dependability of naturally aspirated engines. The 3.6, especially with the 8 speed auto, is not exciting but it is long-term proven, quite capable and very reliable. May be the 2.7 is super reliable too, I don’t know it as well. I would bet on a naturally aspirated making it to high miles more often. Actually really like the Bronco. Great looking, real capability off road and but I’ll wait for Ford to benefit from real life testing by the public with time to get the issues sorted and redesigns implemented (surely they can easily add rear ac vents?) . I don't regret and will never regret owning a jeep and not a "bronco". I love my 2 DOOR WRANGLER RUBICON. I fell in love with off road vehicles when I got to ride in a bronco in the 70s. I felt and still do I made a step up in a jeep instead of a bronco when I got my first jeep. We had a blast in it and it just kept me wanting another one and I got it. I love my 2019 Jeep Wrangler two-door hardtop Rubicon in firecracker red. I have lifted it with larger tires and wheels, new steel bumpers, steel inner and outer fenders, off-road lights, onboard air compressor, aftermarket steering components, etc. While the steering is not great, and was worse when I first bought it, and it has the predictable corks that come along with this extreme off-road vehicle, it fits the requirements I need for navigating the steep winding narrow rutted trails of the Oregon mountains near my home.

@ 0:55 -- this is my thoughts exactly on buying a new vehicle in general. The sticker shock is REAL. Exactly why I keep my 2010 Hyundai hatchback to commute back and forth to my shop, drive my work van all day, then drive home to a 2002 Silverado Regular Cab 5.3l that gets driven weekends and holidays only. I reckon I'm beating the system by keeping and caring for my old vehicles. I considered consolidating down to ONE vehicle when my Mom traded-in her Tahoe in 2017 for a Wrangler Sahara - considered getting my own Jeep (a 2dr Rubicon), but....like you....that +40k price tag snapped me back into reality.

Loved this comparison. I shopped around for two months, trying to get my hands on a Bronco from any dealer that would be willing to sell me one. Their prices were outrageous, and quite frankly, I just thought the Wrangler looked cooler with its consistent classic design. So, I’m now a proud owner of a Rubicon Unlimited. I went with the 4 cylinder because I won’t be doing as much off reading as others, and while I like the mpg’s and it’s pep, I agree that it sounds horrible. But that’s my only negative critique. I’ve recently bought a Mojave gladiator, it was modified before I bought it, lifted, can clear 40s but I’m keeping the “economy” Patagonia 35”s it came with. The more I watch these videos, the more I realize how entirely different of an animal that thing is compared to other things. Now, I test drove that full sized bronco when the dealer near me was lucky enough to get ONE of them. Personally, I’m 6’4” and I felt more cramped in that four door bronco than I did in the 4 door wrangler, and in the gladiator, I felt like it was even more roomy. Manual transmission is a big deal for me too. My one half assed complaint is how tall the gears are, but I quickly realized why that is when I had it in low range with that Mojave transfer case also being tall. In 4 low, everything fits. It’s completely different than any other 4 low I’ve ever been in. It’s almost like a shorter 4hi and not really even a 4 low. I’ll have to look up on TFL if they were compared which I’m sure they were, I’m willing to bet the ratio of the baddest bronco is closer to the rubicon which is ok. For my purposes, Mojave gladiator wins on many levels. Of course it also has the best interior of any of them as well. So that’s a plus, I don’t have to worry about the base stuff the wrangler sports deal with.

Between this video and the 4Runner vs Bronco, the content is phenomenal. I’m curious how limiting, if at all, your Jeep proves to be without locking diffs and all the other off road goodies offered in higher trim JLs. Keep us posted. I’m sure a lift and proper tires will make those lacking features negligible which leads to my feeling that less is more in off roading. All those fancy GOAT modes are great and all, but are they better than a quality rig with off roading know-how? My guess is no.
