Using colour to create distinctions looks great, but often doesn't meet accessibility guidelines - so it's best to use another type of visual to 'highlight' something on the screen.

Visual segmentation is what's holding me back from creating my first video. I teach languages. Visuals are crucial in my field. LOL

Also just a quick question, can you become a instructional designer right after college? or right after doing some online certification? or is it a field where only people who have experience in other fields come here?

You find both in this field. There are people entering brand new and people who transition from other fields. It is definitely something you can get into immediately after college.
