I don't think I'll ever see it in my lifetime, but I long for the day when black women stop giving a damn what black men think of our hair, features, body -- hell, our very essence. I long for the day when black women stop twisting themselves into pretzals trying to please these males. Please stop. To continue "asking these questions" black women are giving black men permission to dictate our hair, features, body, and essence.

"A white girl, with a BLACK GIRL'S ASS!" Yes, Terry Crews confirmed that black men love and appreciate our features MORE/BETTER on other races. Sad. Some feel we aren't beautiful enough being JUST black. Why do we have to be "mixed with" or "part" another race to be attractive? And no, once you "holla" behind me, you lost the game. Idc if you look AND STRUT like Denzel, I'm a person, respecting others around me. I need the same from you. Great job ladies, and gentleman.

Just an observation, but if a dude is saying something like this, I doubt the problem is with the features themselves. Sounds like they want the features of black women along with something else that they perceive white women have that black women don't.

Frannie👏🏽 I love the way you articulated that the ways in which we style our hair is for many of us an art form... And it's nothing new as a brief glance back into African history will lead you an array of images of our women adorned with some of the most glamorous, bejeweled and elaborate hairstyles...All very beautiful.

But it's a difference between us being creative and wearing our hair sometimes and maybe putting on a wig sometimes and other things but there are alot of our women who won't ever show their own natural hair. I'm thinking that's why some black men may have a problem.
@baybeedollxo
@baybeedollxo 6 жыл бұрын
tinkle mitchell I agree with you, but we also have to remember that we live in a society where European beauty is standard and celebrated and our natural beauty isn't as celebrated or accepted by our society. Black women in America have always had to assimilate into a white society with European beauty standards for hundreds of years. We have been going natural for years now, but it will take more than the natural hair movement to recondition our thoughts on our natural beauty. That's for Black men and women. We all have been conditioned to believe that we aren't beautiful enough and we as a people, not necessarily individuals look at whites and/or other races more beautiful than our own and it effects every generation again and again and again. Luckily more of us are starting to realize how truly beautiful we are. Luckily we are tired of the chemicals and weaves and are finally returning natural. We are finally embracing our Blackness more and more and telling society we don't care the standard, we are cut from a different cloth.
@tinkmitch8292
@tinkmitch8292 6 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I think my issue is how some of the women in the video almost became angry when men comment on wanting them to wear their natural hair and not weaves all of the time. I'm just glad that our men are seeing beauty in our own hair. Sociey definitely plays a big part on a global level. My pray is that we continue to rise above it. My husband says he don't like weaves and wigs so guess what...I don't wear them lol.

I just love this discussion I just wish I was there...👏clap for yourselves, especially queen with the braids. huh hum first I would say, alot of black men are afraid of a black woman's power. Most black especially those from a fatherless home always looks for validation of what a 'real man' should look like, so they look at the celebrities-rappers etc and define themselves through that. Hence the celebrities are the ones who are controlled and also brainwashed and forget they do have the right to marry a black woman when they become successful. Most black male celebrities are tryna uphold a status and not look like the ghetto/struggle you came from when they should embrace it. Sadly a black woman seems to be too much of a reminder of that past and we are always seen as Something, angry instead of strong. I live in London and it is soo fashionable for the younger black guys to be with a kyle Jenner lookalike and I feel they are confused with their identity. I have no problem with people loving who they wanna love but I think black men need to love themselves first because their is a lot of deep rooted hatred going on. They need to show love and respect to the same cotton hair having mother whose womb you came from first and then give the black Queen what she deserves... a ring and some respect for the true miracle we are still waiting ready to love and support you all now. Just my 2 pence!

Sometimes some women just attract a certain type of guy in their region area culture. I thing the problem is many women get chosen and don't choose. When you choose you strike up a conversation you can vet people out. The other thing is so many women don't vet they get something and they just automatically just accept it. You should talk to a guy know what you are accepting of and not and if you know that that person does not fit who you, know who you are, if you are honest with who you are and what you will and will not accept, then throw the fish back in, stop entertaining or trying to make a bad puzzle piece work because it is not for you. 2 men out of a pool of millions does not count as "I have always had a bad experience with.... type of men" Now if you have date overs 20, in different regions towns countries then I might give you the ok I get it. dating does not mean screwing every dude either. I have talked to guys and knew within 2 days Naw, I am good that is not for me. You have to vet a person, because looks does not mean a perfect fit and just because someone is nice does not mean they are nice for you.

I hate these conversation. I wish BW would just love themselves & stop trying to twist themselves into a pretzel trying to get love from BM or anyone other than self. As big as the natural hair movement is weave is still the main obssesion. Why? Because it gives BM something to complain about. If u are natural u know it's rarely celebrated unless it's long & curly. Even BW obsessed with length & texture. Stop It! Parenting, womb control & creating businesses is a topic worth discussing. As a non American Black women, with lots of diversity . Looking at the circumstances of an African Americans women I see a set up. The lies that have been feed come from a western view point. Non of it , is to give Black women or men for that matter any advantage . The African American man is extinct in America and we all know why, I will not visit there. So my wisdom I would like to share to AA women is to think globally. The world is small. There are plenary of fine Black men on the African continent. Many African women have been importing them. I don’t think they lack. In fact all other ethnicity’s have no problem importing. You do not have to confine yourself to what is around you. If you are successful, then take time to travel and open your eyes. Anyway that is my thoughts on the issue, I hope it helps someone.

Every culture has its fades, but with many black women, weave has been around for decades & there's actually females on the news who robbed/stole weave from stores. I've seen females jealous of guys with long hair and/or dreads because their hair won't grow like that.

The most I've ever had was cornrows back in the early 2000's. You can watch tv shows or even the news to see how many black men have their hair braided in any type of way. I have to say, this is true! The self hate is real! Many Black Men, not all, front and say how proud they are of their blackness, but hate themselves, to the point they refuse to be with African Women. I know this because I am a Black Woman of mixed heritage, who to many, for some reason, doesn't look African. So I hear all sorts of scandalous things these self haters say to me, and when they find out that I'm Black, they assume I'm submissive/tamed because I'm mixed, or they won't mess with me. When they find out that I'm nothing like they assumed I get the same hate they throw at other Black Women. And the gag is that ALL Women around the world have our quirks, and unique features and things that make us special, or weird. African Women are no different, and as many hood, mean, angry Black Women there are out there, there are just as many beautiful, loving, nurturing, sweet, kind and strong women out there! The men who hate themselves are just to messed up too perceive those women, too immature, and those Men aren't worth your time. And the USA isn't the only place to find a good Black Man, there are a few places to find a good catch, widen your scope and open your heart and mind.

It doesn't matter what men think. By having to sit and give too much energy on topics like these, you are giving out your power as a black woman by even slightly considering someone else's opinion about your beauty. If you think you are enough you won't even consider or care about what others think. Plus, let people love who they want to love because it's not even about race, it's about the person himself and you have no right or power to try and control that. I know a lot of black men that love black women and their features so please this is not even entirely true. People from outside our race also have big butts, boobs, and curves by the way :)... @Miss Le Blanc it absolutely does matter. Mutual respect, validation, connection and attraction are all fundamental in a good community for people to feel included and wanting to invest in a society that invested in them (financially, emotionally etc). Black people not loving the other sex within the same race is the beginning of the end for the community. Of course people love who they want, I'd be a huge hypocrite for saying the opposite, but it doesn't change the fact that logically you can't have black children on the long run if every generation of black people avoid each other. They're gonna mix until the black disappears. If it happens, it happens, but I'm just saying. People will in a way always care about belonging in a community, and romantic attraction is one of the most powerful bonding links and validation one could give to someone else

Wow. Is she that unintelligent that the only retort she had about wearing weave was men dye their beards? I'm guessing the simple fact that women do far more dye jobs than men proves she really didn't think before she spoke? There's a stark different between changing the color of your facial hair back to its original color after going gray & plopping a yard of store-bought blonde/pink/blue/red/green yaki on your head & leaving it in for weeks all while patting it when it itches. If anything a man would simply shave his facial hair & call it a day, but there's exceptionally few women who'd shave their heads. Black men don't lead the nation in dye jobs (if anything whites would), yet the overwhelming majority of women in the world who wear weave are black women. In fact I think they got rid of the women with "natural hair" & replaced them with this new cast. Everyone of them seemed to be wearing weave, meanwhile none of the men there looked like they dyed their beards.

To much value on Looks and exterior and not enough on intellect and values, this is the problem we are having as a culture, a lot of us are shallow and stuck on Dumbe and materialism, then we wonder why relationships are not working out and our women become baby mamas and the poverty cycle continues... come on people lets evolve and become deeper thinkers....

How come when Black men say we don't like the wigs and weave, we prefer BW natural hair we are called gay for worrying about what they put on their heads. However if a white man or non black man says the exact same thing they praise him for loving them in their natural state. I think many of y'all just need to admit you hate all Black men & need to date out, because the bashing and generalizations are unnecessary and played out at this point.

When a man is madly in love he does embrace every part of your body, skin and hair .he accepts you ... For sure a large number of men hates theirs features , hair textures, wear waves. we had been told that black was ugly for years. it's like ...this trauma is written down in our veins , mentality ... how can we solve this problem we blame each other ..instead of seeing the real issue , to fix it ! ps : sorry if my english is not perfect , english is not my first language .. do not hesitate to tell me if something is wrong

ANGELA TRAVEL ADVENTURES. You stated: *The love has been lost, i dont know what happened.* 😔 Here's what happened: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqrQpIOKqrCSjpY The above link shows one of many examples of how Black women repeatedly went on national TV and stated there are not enough good black men in the WORLD to date. We either don't make enough money for them or we're gay or in jail. That of course was a lie. Those same Black women weren't interested in the Black guys who were hard working because those guys were boring, and they wanted to have fun cause they were young but then... when those Black women entered their mid 30s and time caught up with them, those same men were married and the pool was limited because now the available men were in there 20s and not making enough money, or still in school or just not interested in settling down, so these women looked for an excuses instead of taking responsibility for their POOR CHOICES. Then there was the following lie that even some Black men jumped on board with... kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXjagKx8ZpJoiKs The above link is a Black man (Tyrese) perpetuating a lie based on his INDIVIDUAL experience. Now here's the truth. Black men are excellent fathers and it's scientifically proven. There's a link to a CDC study, the CDC is the Center for Disease Control, and they conducted a comprehensive study on FATHERHOOD and guess what they discovered: Their study concluded that BLACK MEN are by far the BEST and MOST INVOLVED fathers on earth but the media has always used BLACKS to perpetuate stereo-types. www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhsr/nhsr071.pdf - here's the link Here is an article based on the scientific study... www.nytimes.com/2015/06/08/opinion/charles-blow-black-dads-are-doing-the-best-of-all.html Black women have gone along with that lie far too long because the CDC truth exposes the painful reality... the Black women are the reason the community has failed because if Black men are the best fathers, then what's wrong with the kids are not the men's fault. Black women (not all) have been excuse makers and accountability evaders. But the best example I can show you, is the following link which is a short clip of a very nice young man who adored his girlfriend like many young black boys growing up... kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4u5eYeKi6ylpac Notice how women changed Tupac into an angry person. See how nice he spoke and the hope in his eyes. Later he made a song titled... And you wonder why we call you B_ TCH! Women must take responsibility for the nice guys they kill. I know there are many men that are no good too but men call out there wrong doers easily and never stand up for bad men. Women circle the wagons around ignorant women but never stand up for good women who don't go to clubs and are good wives to their husbands and dress modestly... women hate those b's!

I agree with all your views on Black men. Black men need to be corrected and will be. Also recognize the IN PARENTHESIS I clearer put the words..,. NOT ALL, when speaking on Black women. As I already stated... Black men do own up to our role but it's time for YOUR GENDER to own up to the HUGE part they played in chasing men away. Black women caused this by themselves. Stop looking to share the blame. Stop circling the wagons around the sisters who chase men away. ADMIT that sisters have chased men away and then we can start a truthful honest dialogue. Stop saying but what about the men, every time we point out what women do wrong. WHITE MEN and BLACK WOMEN have talked down on BLACK MEN for over 400 years. Black men have finally done it for the last 20 and yall think you are catching hell... naa you ain;t caught it yet but it's coming!!! You'll come back to your men though but many women will return on their knees begging, because when this society falls... the real men will rise up and the women will line up to be with them and accept being one of his many choices.

Arrell Ehn i disagree. Its EQUAL blame. You are the men, and catch hell? Isnt their enough of that in this world apart from this conversation, who needs or wants more. Its called compromise, its how marriages like my parents last for 50 years!! EQUAL blame, thats a sure footing, i dont know of any BW in her RIGHT mind wouldn't accept this HALF . We agree to disagree on this one. Take care.
