I think everything in life is spiritual, and psychedelics are just an even more intense manifestation of that. I think psychedelics like Ayahuasca should only be used in a spiritual way, to show a glimpse of the immense mystery of this universe that we live in. They can be helpful to show someone the spiritual reality of this life. But a great danger to them I think is if someone is not spiritual and doesn't get anything spiritual from psychedelic use, in that case then I think psychedelics can backfire and just make the ego stronger and more intense which just leads far away from anything spiritual and just leads to more misery. Psychedelics are a double edged sword, and I think the great increase in marijuana usage is not helping most people find the spiritual side of life but instead is just strengthening their egocentricity, greed, aggression, and insanity. Also Tom, I've just found out about the work of Stephen Meyer. He works about how evolution can't be explained without intelligent design being involved. Evolution is real, but it's a spiritual thing. I believe it's connected to reincarnation, and souls growing and evolving, becoming more intelligent. The world is a hellhole because of all the violence and aggression going on. All that violence is happening because we evolved from aggressive animals, and we are still evolving and slowly overcoming our vicious, aggressive, and selfish animal instincts. Spirituality is about overcoming our violent animal instincts, and instead finding intelligence and evolving and becoming fully human and loving. Please look up Stephen Meyer. I really think you will find his work interesting. It would be amazing to hear you and Dakota interview him one day. Take it easy bro, stay safe, peace.

Humble or just stoned. We all can get stoned, not all of us can be humble,but..when u take this. Common sense is rare. All things that cant be explained. I dont do drugs but its just common sense n research. We were all born with "common" sense, it's just y is "common" sense so rare. Shouldn't we all call it "rare sense"? Who came up with the saying " curiosity killed the cat",maybe he was high n had no idea he really had NO cat from the start. Curiosity doesn't kill cats. Im curious about alot of things n they dont die.Again, who 1st said curriosity killed the cat. U sound like u are drug dependant to try n find reality

Thank you mate; your advice is very helpful. I am 75 y.o. And, once again I'm at a crossroads. I've been using psychedelics since the 60's but I still have unresolved and unclear issues that probably are fear-based. I have been thinking about using ayahuasca for a while, I have been invited to a session but declined. Still unsure of the path to take but you are completely right; psychedelics opened me up to many dimensions of myself, particularly Love but have not resolved my basic issues. Once again thank you for your clear and enlightened advice. Bless you mate. 🙏🏼

Aya is incredible. Everytime I've set an intention Aya takes me where I need to go. Once I set the intention to feel at peace within myself to experience joy. The start of the experience I had my eyes closed and saw the clown from IT. I opened my eyes and saw the clown clearer than ever. I asked why as I seeing this. I was told you expect the worse So I'm giving you what you expect . I said I don't want this. Then I heard let go the negative thinking and expect the best. . The clown went away. I then purged alot. I purged then oriental type paper type balloons that were labeled anger, hate and fear . As I purged these balloons got bigger and bigger. Seeing what this negative energy looked like in my body. I said ok I got it im done. Haha. Aya said no this is all is still in you. I thought I was purging basketballs labeled with negative thoughts and feelings. Only bile was coming up at this point. Finally I stopped and said I get it, I see what this negative energy does to you. What an experience.Aya then said go back and drink more. If you trust me your experience will be great, but only if you trust me. I said ok. I will. I went up two more times and had a great experience. Once after my realizing I did this 3 times I started to think crap I did this 3x what's going to happen and started to panic. Mother Aya said STOP trust me. I have you. I always have. Let go release. . I did and saw that my outlook weather positive of negative was all within me . I can change it. Like to said Aya doesn't give you what you want or expect. It gives you what you need. Great videos. I like also like Huachuma and Bufo .

You have to be aware that you are aware. You can be aware that things are dark and not be able to see how it's impacting your life or what you need to do to change it, and also not feeling it at a soul level that you NEED to change these things. But when you are FULLY aware of your awareness of your own darkness, our own toxic traits, cycles, behaviors etc, in the moment that they are happening, that is consciousness at its truest being. IMO. So it's like being the darkness and knowing you are that and also being outside of that, viewing it, and saying to yourself, like, yeah...this isn't too great of a feeling, I should change these things. Yeah. That's the sweet spot. ;) Thanks, Tom. Been following for years on another email account and realized I never see your vids on this account and checked in. Glad I did. Cheers, m8.

Thanks, mate Tom. Those are quite important things to know. You explained it succinctly. So, basically, we can say that Ayahuasca acts as a teacher. And a teacher can never do the work for us, can never solve anything for us, she can only show us and explain certain things so that we may understand better.

I had 4g's of subs yesterday, massively cathartic experience. I was crying like a baby for an hour. Man I needed it, I felt so good afterwards and still do. I realised I haven't cried in years and it's not healthy, as a male especially an aussie male its not what is done which is stupid I know. I'm so thankful to the mushroom for this experience, these plants and fungi can be so healing but on the flipside they can bring on psychosis. I had a friend lose it a few weeks ago saying he was going to kill another friend and I think he would have done it if the circumstances allowed

Totally agree with you. I had my first ayahuasca ceremony on February and if you want to really change you habits it’s up to you, I am trying as much as I can to discipline myself and continue to improve. Also if you don’t have a real purpuse you shouldn’t do that, for example on my retreat there were 2 girls from US that haven’t got any wish or desire from drinking the brew in fact in 4 ceremonies they haven’t experienced pretty much anything intense or emotional because their mind was blocked I think they just wasted their time

I literally have never commented on a single YT video, but I wanted to say thank you so much for making this content and emphasizing the importance of using psychedelics responsibly and for the right reasons, and also speaking on the psychosis and darkness that one can experience if done for the wrong reasons. I can speak to that psychosis and darkness, and I would definitely agree that environment and who you experience these things with can completely change your trip. To anyone with curiosity, please practice humility, and use with guides who have experience with whatever it is you are taking.

I think it is very reasonable to caution people about ayahuasca. Somehow i feel that you might just give them wrong impressions about the medicine based on your experiences. The quote „..it does not give you what you want, but what you need“ feels very true and pure. One should meditate on this. And go into a ceremony once they have no idea what they think they Need. But still having pure intentions. Just go for it but don’t think it’s a way out.

two major giveaways: Dont depend on outside things to heal. I think also that independence and the reward of untangling something in your own way can show you interdependence and where you might need to go express that independence. Which relates to what you say about that ayahuasca doesn’t give you something in itself, and that it is your daily will/expression that carries the knowledge out. That you call embodied knowledge/ wisdom, which i also thought was beautiful :)

Ive got quit the psychedelics story, did everything I shouldnt do but with the mushrooms. Kept going deeper and deeper, met Alien Computer like consciouness being, they were like, "guiding" me in some sense, giving me power through knowledge. But I was ignorant at the time on what was happening to me, I was mushtout of my mind, going to my MMA gym just pulling pro technique out of my ass like ive been training my whole life, with a out of this world calmness. With time, Im seeing like it was the knowledge of the gods that was coursing through my consciouness. But God couldnt let this happen, and showed up after a week of me having the power of knowledge, and believe me or not, one night, still going strong on mushrooms, I was in direct conscious connection with heaven, and all the heavenly host, saints angels, and who ever is there. At the same time, walking with a theosis like consciouness, Saying, "I Am God, everything around here belongs to Me" and trust that I was walking like it too, I was out of my mind brother !!! Keep in mind, throughout all time, I was COMPLETLY ignorant about about, jesus, aangels, whatever biblical stuff, I was raise full secular, no religious background, like I said, I did everything you said here that I shouldnt do. Gosh my story is much more than that, many more details. Ive seen with knowledge, and now, the thoughest for me, is not being able to be understood, but praised be to God, ive seen what was already there, So I just need to articulate what I saw, because it is the truth !!!!!

Do you think it is even possible to transmute a childhood home into a new space of its own that serves you? Is creative transformation possible in that scenario? Vsauce did it out of sheer curiosity in a series where he tried other mind altering substances in each episode as well. I fail to see the evidence in which one doing it in that regard would likely have a bad outcome, especially considering that even if you have a purpose in mind, it may still result in a bad trip anyway, so how is this indicative of anything? And this is related to another comment I left in your previous video, if you personally did it because you were in a dark place, then what authenticity do you have to express on whether or not its a bad idea if one does it out of curiosity?

@@yourmatetom buddy, you of all people should know that there is little room for error when it comes to such things, and in that regard, I see my questions as pretty reasonable, and the fact that you apparently took offense to them would only mean that you do too little thinking, so I’ll take your empty rhetoric on good faith, cheers.

@@faisalsukhtian1932 forgive my brash response, it was meant to be taken lightly, as I tend to overthink these things. This video was 15 minutes long, that barely skimmed passed these deep and nuanced topics. These “tips” are general rule of thumbs, not immutable principles. I could absolutely see how in some cases, drinking Ayahuasca out of curiosity (especially documenting it to educate the world) can actually lead to benefit. The only reason I say that it generally isn’t a good idea to drink Ayahuasca out of curiosity is the domino effect it has on naive westerners wandering around the Amazon which has notoriously dodgy shamans waiting to pounce on people. Context is everything, however, imo, I would say that drinking aya purely out of curiosity is a bad a idea for most people. But that’s just my 2 cents. I didn’t mean to “retort” your statement. I was making a bad joke. I love ya mate, please don’t take my response so seriously. I actually agree with you comment, but I still think you’re overthinking it :p Much love

@@yourmatetom I also apologize, it’s bothersome for me to leave comments like my previous one, irrelevant of whether I’m right or not(though the guilt scale would heavily depend on the person I’m engaging with 😂) I guess the fasting in this month can cause a bit of irritability. And also I appreciate the elaboration, it initially felt like gatekeeping at first, but with this I can see where you’re coming from. I personally don’t get falling prey to dodgey shamans due to the fact that a reasonable individual would study about a resort before booking there rather than treating it like an open buffet, but it’s not too hard to imagine such gullibility unfortunately. Much love. P.S: Could you please tell me what the background music in part 2 of “the greatest lie in spirituality” is? I’ve been searching endlessly for it, and I’m more than positive its not done by Waywell :P

I psychs don't really work for me, I also don't have an internal monologue or mental imagery, which I believe to be partially related to why psychs don't work. With all that said, when psychs "do something" they don't help with like introspection. I am not really capable of being introspective.. It makes psychs not incredibly useful ig

Your brain is definitely wired differently. I’ve heard the lack of inner monologue and imagery can make you more immune to anxiety, depression, and ptsd. Sometimes I’ve wished I didn’t have such a vivid imagery and loud monologue that never shuts up :/
