The advantage of stabilizer is it limits wear on other components. Your balljoints and tie rod ends will last longer.

In my case I'd lifted 4.5" and one week later DW apeared, the EOM stabilizer get loosy... so, instaled a dual kit and the problem DW had fixed and the driving get better now than before the lifting... I hope DW do not appear leater on again.

odds are that it will surface again. Stabilizers do not fix death wobble, nor are they the cause. They are just a shock that dampens the side to side motion that creates death wobble

Great video.. one question i had was 06 TJ 4" suspension lift approximately 33" tires.. why are you so against the dual stabilizer and wouldn't the dual help stabilize better between the lift and oversized tires?
@joaquinmata55138 ай бұрын
I have the same thing and my 33 12.50s pull me all over no death wobble I just want some tighter steering.
@TheOutlawOffroad8 ай бұрын
A dual stabilizer does absolutely nothing to help, and we hate seeing people waste their money on them. a 33" tall tire is not as heavy as one may think. proper steering geometry, proper caster and toe will help keep that jeep centered on the road and a normal stabilizer is more than capable enough to cushion any road feel.
@TheOutlawOffroad8 ай бұрын
If you're getting pulled all over the road, you need to check balance, steering geometry, and alignment

they do not. A proper alignment, tire pressure and steering geometry will help track better and a single stabilizer is more than enough to accommodate that

I installed a bds 3in lift and all was well had everything checked out and torqued with full alignment 1500 miles no issues. I upgraded the steering stabilizer to the fox through style mainly just to complete the system and match the fox shocks. Was pulling a trailer and got Death wobble all over the highway. Without the trailer I do not get DW but bumps on the highway I feel light shaking like it’s wants too but doesn’t. Only thing changed after the lift with issue feee driving was the stabilizer even tho that doesn’t make sense. All is tight and track bar is good. It’s a 22 gladiator with 7500 miles so it’s not worn parts. Jeep told me to add a dual stabilizer.. I’m lost lol
@TheOutlawOffroad2 жыл бұрын
If a Jeep dealership told you to add a dual steering stabilizer... run. definitely not the right answer! Here are some things to look out for: The Drag Link and Track Bar need to be as close to parallel as possible. If those cross, you get bump steer that can absolutely lead to death wobble. If the 3" kit didnt come with control arms or something to correct suspension geometry or steering geometry you will need to get those corrected. the added weight of towing will multiply any issues between alignment/suspension geometry and steering geometry.
@prestigevending152 жыл бұрын
@@TheOutlawOffroad thank you! I have had nothing but bad “professional work” no matter where I go maybe it’s my location. I installed all 8 adjustable control arms and rear track bar as well. this is partial wrong bc a bad stabilizer could definitely cause DW, other things can do it but the one i jus replaced had like 1.5” of play in it where i could jus move it back and fourth with no resistance. simply going to a different brand won’t change anything, but if the stabilizer is faulty it definitely would fix it
@TheOutlawOffroad Жыл бұрын
we will have to disagree here. A stabilizer is only acting as a dampener between the road and your steering components. A worn out stabilizer or dampener will no longer dampen the effects of worn out steering components. Replacing a worn out stabilizer with a new one will continue to mask other issues.

You provided no hard evidence other than you saying they dont do anything. Seems like they work well for many people. So even if all they do is help reduce wear and extend the life of all your steering joints, why are they bad? Seems like your evidence is pretty subjective. Even if they just help dampen steering, how is that bad? You really didn't make much of a case against them except "steering stabilizers are a waste of money cause i said they dont do anything but dampen steering, so dont buy them and waste money." Was really hoping this would be an informative video with some sort of hard results or scientific test. Turns out it's more of an opinion peice.

I’ve heard that stabilizers won’t fix wobble if you have it. But hubs, track bar, and upper and lower control arms are the primary factors of the death wobble to happen.

@@hntgnut obviously the front end of these jeeps are very sensitive to change, you don’t just change 1 thing without going full bore on changing everything. Even then it wouldn’t be right. Hey Preacher, if you have a dual steering stabilizer setup and one goes bad, but not the other, you will absolutely have some terrible driving characteristics!! Basically you have one steering stabilizer pushing one direction, and nothing to counter it, which would then need driver input. Correct steering geometry eliminates the need for dual stabilizers all together
