Based on the video, it likely that these are T-62M tanks. It is impossible to determine if these tanks are headed toward the front lines, to a training sight, to be modernized or just moved to sell to another nation or to make space for something else.
These vehicles are between 53 and 63 years old, and would not be good as front-line vehicles, but could be used to support infantry as they advance.

My guess - these will be converted to 'turtle tanks', and sent into action with absolutely no ammo whatsoever (avoid turret toss). An infantry squad sits on top, and this antiquated tank becomes a battle taxi with one solitary purpose: Get the meat across the field to the next treeline. Its incredibly wasteful, but Russia has incrementally had success doing this. Seemingly they don't care about their soldier's lives, and those old inventory tanks get one last bit of use. And as an ex 19K, I have to admit: That old Soviet relic making a thunder run full of meat is probably more effective than most tanks have been in this war.

There are Vicker's machine guns (Maxim guns according to the headlines) used by Ukraine, so old is not necessarily bad. As you described it, I know we were using this exact method of night vision during WW2 in the Pacific theater, specifically with the M3 Carbine. “A tank is better than no tank” not necessarily. Fielding 60 year old tanks means adjusting your logistical chains to support them. It also means putting a tank crew at risk of death in an older more vulnerable tank, instead of saving them for a newer tank (which if destroyed has a higher crew survival rate). Sometimes it better to save your men and equipment rather than hastily putting them into an older vehicle.

The T-62 and its variants have been seen in combat in Ukraine and the Russians have lost more than 100 of them over the course of the war so far, according to oryx. Chances are, these could be heading for rear areas of occupied Ukraine or even the frontline. It's highly doubtful that any country would be buying this tank model in 2024 and that Russia would be willing to sell it, when it can use it as a stop gap measure before they fix up more of the newer models that have been in storage.

It’s honestly kind of stunning to see the paradoxical escalation of Russian cope as the war continues. Because when Western tanks first started arriving, or even at the beginning of the war when it was T-72s against Javelins and other Western ATGMs, the common line was “Oh there were barely any T-72s in the Gulf War, it’s a super duper tank that can defeat any inferior Western tank”, and yet not only do T-72s seem to be something of an endangered species in Ukraine, but Russia’s now pulling out T-55s and maybe even T-62s, tanks that (along with their Chinese derivatives) formed the mainstay of Huessein’s army in the Gulf War. Even if the Russians aren’t using them as MBTs, or at least not intending to, they’re still proven to be historically terrible against pretty much anything Western that Ukraine’s been receiving the past couple of years.

Pretty sure these things are going to be sent to Ukraine to be used as "turtle tanks". Ammunition isn't an issue because the turtle tanks are not meant to use their main guns. They are breakthrough vehicles meant to clear mines and disrupt/withstand drone attacks. Ukraine captured one recently and found that it was a T-62 under the hood. It was not carrying any ammo and its main turret was locked in place.
