Whenever I see someone trying to create drama, I like to ask myself if they are leaving out any information or if they bothered to see if there was anything.

Visiting where Ryan does for business and having travel downtimes I’d be jotting down ideas for a novel to blow off some stress. Ryan seems like a mix between Jack Ryan, Bill Murray in “Stripes”, James Bond and Mathew Broderick’s character in “Wargames” to me…

When the vehicle you are in can be destroyed by a infantry man with shoulder mounted ordinance or drone ordinance costing just thousands as opposed to millions for the tank it will no longer be cost effective. I've recently heard that America is looking at the big gun battle ships again as a more cost effective way of delivering ordinance over short to medium ranges with modern target acquisition and fire control accuracy. A shell is significantly less expensive than a missile

I can tell you that I've done some DoD subcontractors. Military does overpay seriously for common items without necessarily gaining any benefit. I was building computers, and the case of the computer was rated for far more then insides were. Basically the case would be fine, but inside, i.e. motherboard and alike would be sand. There is no way to prevent laws of physics. Furthermore we had to charge far more then we wanted to, because we had to fore fill a certain spend. So while you may be right on a bolt or particular item being of better quality , a lot of what military does is in fact complete waste, partially because it's a Governmental institution, partially because of bureaucracy, partially due to one hand not knowing what other is doing, and partially because how budgets work.

How do we know that the $45 bolt should not be $35 because the overall cost including testing could be $30? I am not saying it is, I am asking how we know.

Ok. Yes. For aircraft parts you have a point. But that wasnt really thw point of contention

I'm sure there is overpricing for military goods, but you should question what companies are overcharging, who decided to select that supplier, and if there's a connection. Blanket "Military's overpaying, lets just defund them!" isn't going to solve the issue.

Is your argument “the bullet was really , reallllly , reallllllllllly expensive , so target had to be valid”?
@davideyres9553 сағат бұрын
Some bolts are torq to yield which means the amount of turning force you or in is specifically designed for the metal to give a specific amount. They are single use only. Also everything about aircraft parts is traceable, right down to the metal that goes into them. This all costs money.

Joe's open approach to media is important in today's media landscape. Sure he isn't right all the time, maybe even a lot of the time, but he constantly reminds you that he's not an expert and you should do your own research to become properly informed. If Joe has been misinformed on something you are an expert in, get on the show and change his mind with intelligent civil discussion. Keep up the good work Ryan, I'd love to see you on the JRE trying to explain missile defense systems and military strategy to Joe one day

The answer is yes as a DU round will bust a big ass hole in one side and pierce a small hole in the other side. The velocity of the round pulls so much air through it will suck anything not bolted down through the small hole. 😬

If the bolt is put into an aircraft like the F22 or F35, when the aircraft does an8g turn , every part of the aircraft does 8g,s so multiply the number of times the aircraft does 8gs through out the lifetime of the aircraft,

Most of this video is basically "we are not that bad because others do worse" or "Look, others are doing it more" rhetoric. It doesn't necessarily contradict what Johnny has said. While I know that Johnny often exaggerates for narrative effects or skews things, Ryan doesn't really prove him wrong. Case in point, comparing P&G or tech companies with defense contractors. When he got to the point of lobbying and congressmen owning stocks, I expected that he would talk more about the unethical "insider" trading that congress people do but instead he just compares defense companies with others.

Hatzerim is the same air base that is less than 18 miles from Be’eri. 18 miles and yet it took the IDF 8+ hours to respond to the attack? Almost as if their helicopters were in the area earlier, and were just killing Israeli civilians who the IDF then claimed were killed by Hamas. All those cars that were clearly struck with hellfire missiles sure are odd. How did Hamas get hellfire missiles or a helicopter to fire them? Hmmm. All very odd.

Honestly I worked in a theater our Choir risers required aircraft bolts although more expensive 45 dollars is too much 5000 dollars for a soap dispenser is too much. So why does Ryan lie? He’s trying to sell a 100 million dollar drone system he stole from high school students.
