If there is substantial water spots embedded in the paint, I use My Chemical Guys water spot remover for my vehicles.

I had my car coated and lost its slickness within a few washes. Probably better just to use a spray wax after every few washes since the coating needs to be refreshed anyway. Hydrophobic the same when I was just using a spray wax.

If it's not beading water for months you either got ripped off, or it wasn't applied correctly. Not all shops are equal, if it's not beading take it back to them and show them.

@@parisiantumbleweed it’s beading but when you rub your hand across the panel it’s not slick. On my old Tahoe I only used the Meguires spray wax and had the same beading just applied every few washes. Had it for 4 years and had no swirl marks paint was almost perfect. But with these coatings you still have to use a spray wax which is why to me it’s not worth it. Did my 2 new cars not doing it again.

@@Daniel-z2j2vnot all ceramic coatings create a “slickness”. That’s why some higher level coatings have 2-part system applications. As well as some state to throw a topper over it once it’s cured or during curation, to “take the blunt of contamination” before the base coating does. Could be multiple variables at play here: clogged pores from contamination setting in on the ceramic; needs a ceramic topper reapplied; or could even be a chemical laid over on top of the ceramic-preventing its abilities (like a car wash wax). Take it to the installer with your concerns, and I’m sure they will educate you on what’s happening/resolve any issue that may or may not be happening.

@@jacobshank9362 idk but to me the whole point of spending all that money was so the car will stay slick and hydrophobic for years without having to do anything to it. Didn’t know it still had to be maintained with the graphene boost. They used Adams products maybe they’re just not good. Either way I’m no longer sold on these coatings. My Tahoe that I only used a spray wax looked shinier and slicker than my cars with the coating.

If I do a ipa can I do a wax instead of coating? Or is that not needed? I compound polish and wax, but if you reccomand using ipa before wax I would love to try it and have your tricks and tips for it!!

Yes, it's safe. I've coated a number of cars outside. Just don't do it in direct sunlight. Use a coating that has a quick cure time just in case it rains--DIY Detail coatings can get wet one hour after application.

@@yaelsanchez3057 Bro you want to do the best job possible, you can't do a good ceramic sealing outside, that's the definition of unprofessional, think about the following things: heat, insects, dust, curing time of the ceramic etc. that MUST be in a hall with perfect lighting conditions, our ceramics takes at least 24 hours for it to absorb. The best way to solve it is this way (from my experience). A ceramic seal brings you €1000-1500, You need about 6- 8 hours until you have the perfect paint condition so that you can then seal. So book a garage/shop over the weekend and do it sensibly, good work will prevail, but please don't stand somewhere outdoors and do a ceramic sealing. Everyone who knows a little bit over coating knows you can't do a good job outdoor. So call workshops or google where and who rents out their workshop/hall near you. Take Care, you can do it

Not if you use Dr. beasley’s. NSP primer when you do paint correction I’m not a fan of panel prep as you can re-scratch the paint with a primer. You don’t need to use a panel prep Dr Besleys’s NSP.
