*Summary:* Your lats can internally rotate your shoulders if they are tight. This causes rounded forward shoulders. These stretches release the tight upper thoracic. *How to best stretch the lats:* The best way is when you have your arm overhead. 1st stretch: 4:50 2nd stretch: 5:20

What I’ve been slowly learning over the past few months is that I’ve been doing every exercise and stretch wrong my whole life. Part of it is the strength and conditioning coaches I had in HS never ever corrected form. Now I’m 22, fucked up shoulders ( that are getting better) bad posture (that’s getting better) and tight muscles everywhere. And all this is only getting better because of the type of content that Jeff is putting out. Saving my body a life time of hurt

YES!!! This was perfect! I had to add a yoga block under my arm against the wall because I have a lot of flexibility in my shoulders. The curtsy to get your hip against the wall and then twist is exactly what I have needed. I had a massage therapist tell me it was because of tight pectorals that I had such a bad hunch. And then I had another therapist to tell me that it was my biceps rolling in. I'm so happy to know it's the insertion into the humerus that is causing me my problems. THANK YOU!!

Love this video and stretch! The lats are so often overlooked as a cause of not only postural issues but shoulder injuries and even pelvic misalignment! We forget that our lats can contribute to excessive anterior pelvic tilt and even an ipsilateral hip hike! Never tried this specific stretch variation before but plan to now :-)

OMG!!! I have a 42 degree curve in my spine, so despite working out and rock climbing, my lats spasm all the time and feels like I can't stand up straight. This is A M A Z I N G ! I feel like I am 2 inches taller after this. I am sure I will be doing this multiple times a day. Also, I am going to check out your other videos.

Lat Stretch - 4:13 After explaining the dynamics that are very important during the stretch, Jeff begins with the stretch pose at the time marker above. I put the shortcut here so that I can jump into the stretch each day for my daily routine. Hopefully it will be helpful to others as well. However if you are learning this stretch for the first time, don't jump ahead. Listen to the entire discription he gives. It is worth it! All of the dynamics that he teaches are very important to avoid injury and get an effective stretch. ...That is why he is so thorough (which is one of the best things about he Athlean-X chanel). Such a great stretch!!!

I don’t have very much lat at the moment so when I went in to “manipulate” the muscle..... I did that for five minutes and only ended up with braids in my pit hair.... good stretch tho....
