So basically be your own best supportive friend, a loving parent to your inner child, an empathic psychotherapist to your wounded self. Got it! Thank you, I find it fantastic!

That basically how I healed from anxiety and panic attacks, I had to go to the root cause, but it took months to convince my inner child ( 12 months)

Being an introvert has held me back in life. In relationships, career opportunities, just everything I can think of. I still managed to land a good job, earn a master's, etc., but I think I had/have the potential to do a lot more. My shyness and fear of rejection/losing just consumes me to the point where I just don't want to try.

I feel you. Same issue. In uni, feels like i am wasting my life because of anxiety and fear of rejection. It's been 7 months since you have commented. Can you tell me if you did something that helped you? Or some advice? It would be really helpdul🙂

Introversion is not the same as shyness or anxiety. It’s not the introversion that is holding you back, but your fears.

I really recommend looking up a video called: "how to open your Chakras as explained in a childrens show" - it is about the episode in avatar the last Airbender where aang has to do basically all the shadow work in order to have access to his full spiritual power Whether or not u belive in chakras (i don't even know what they are fully tbh), this is basically a 10 minute meditation on how to let go of thing and holding you back. It is brief and more on the surface level so not a replacement for deep reflective thinking but omg does it feel great and liberating, like a full month of therapy in one session when I first watched it

Another way of saying it would be to own it. Take control of it and direct it. Don't allow it to own or control you, but the other way around.
@InPoweredByCyndi

Just as long as you aren't suppressing it in the control. The idea is to give the love, care, understanding, compassion you didn't get. You developed the way of coping that no longer serves you. So, flip that need.

I think it's also important to note that doing this technique can invite more questions rather than answers, and that's okay, stay with it, embrace them. Also, one issue may show you the link to another issue, which you may need to come back to and focus on multiple times.

Ok serious question- cuz I think this could be ground-breaking therapy - what do you do if you have more than one in fact, almost all of the things you mentioned, losing jobs, losing relationships or addictions, bad decisions all these things that hold me back. Do I address them one at a time or do I just choose the worst one?

Sometimes it takes you yourself to address the issue(s) you’ve spoken to someone else about and receive the same advice. I chose to not accept that truth or process, but then I tried this method. Crap it’s a light bulb moment. You can only change yourself when YOU admit to yourself change is growth and not a scary thing. To me it’s also about being aware that the past is the past. The mind doesn’t know the difference. An example would be as we age we don’t see ourselves as middle age with wrinkles and gray hair (I’m not here yet) rather we see ourselves in our youthful state. Our brain doesn’t know our body changed because our mind hasn’t.

I was doing this without even knowing it’s called shadow work and I can say it sets you on fire after a while but you have to bear the agony and keep doing it repeatedly because it may not be a physical activity but it sure feels difficult and exhausting doing it as much as work out. Btw if you stop doing it you are going to start to lose gains too, it’s just psychological work out in a sense.
