I became type 2 diabetic in 2021. I refused meds and said I would change my diet and that's what I did. I reversed it 4 months later. I lost a lot of weight quickly. I only eat food I make myself. At the beginning my body and brain were in a battle but I stuck rigid to it and eventually my body and brain clicked into sync. My body now looks amazing and I feel fantastic. The only treat I eat daily is a homemade flapjack and I make a batch of one week's worth. Weirdly my eyesight has improved, but here is the kicker. This is a lifelong dietary change, it's not something I can dip in and out of and it takes discipline. I don't crave sugar anymore, but I feel like a 25 year old in a body that now only looks like the body of a 25-30 year old in peak physical form and I'm 59. I keep a photo of myself on the fridge to remind myself how I used to look. It's a great motivator to keep on track. Exercise wise, I walk just 20 minutes a day at a fast enough pace to get my heart rate up. Now I do intermittent fasting and don't have breakfast until mid morning and don't eat after 8pm. All I can say is it's like I have shed the body of an old avatar and I am in a new fresh body full of energy. It's like I have been reborn.

Curious. If you refuse medication after diagnosis.. but then excrrise plenty and stop taking sugar and blood sugar spiking csrbs.. and go into ketosis.. is it safe. Something ive resd online is that if you have type 2 and go into ketosis its dsngerous?? Maybe thats if you are on the meds. Is it safe in your opinion .. after diagnosis.. refuse meds and chsnge diet and lifestyle..going into ketosis

I've just received the news that I'm pre-diabetic. Iexpect I have been for a long time. I hadn't had a blood test in years. Switched from fast food, frappés, and frappucinos to (some) fruits, veggies, eggs, kimchi, tofu,... And started walking 2 weeks ago. I'm up to about 1.5 miles, 40 minutes, 3294 steps. Dropped 8 pounds of unknown substances (250 to 242 at 5'8") in exactly 2 weeks.

The biggest thing for me when I know my blood sugar is too high is when my eyes go blurry. I was telling people for YEARS that every time I ate a carb heavy day my eyes would get blurry, but they just kept saying you need glasses. But I'm like but it goes away, it only happens on those carb loaded days. Turns out high blood sugar our eyes slightly SWELL causing the distortion in vision, once it starts lowering again it goes back to normal. Crazy . Thank goodness whilst on keto I don't have those problems :)

This video is incredibly informative and eye-opening! The explanation of how blood sugar works and how insulin plays a role in our body really made everything easier to understand. I had no idea that the food we eat, like rice and potatoes, could have such a big impact on our blood sugar levels. The step-by-step plan to lower blood sugar and reverse type 2 diabetes sounds so practical and doable-eating non-starchy foods, walking after meals, and even the simple idea of intermittent fasting. Every body talks about cutting down on THIS , and cutting down on THAT , but physical activity , like for example some fitness training , is never mentioned. And that makes a great difference. Because the diet alone still makes you weaker if you cut down on a lot of things , whereas with adding enough fitness activity , you can keep your muscle mass up , while cutting down less on products , which often have some necessary nutriënts .

I am Pre diabetic. I don't use medication. My GP said it's diet controlled now but if it doesn't improve i could be placed on Metformin. You are the best Doctor i have ever heard good advice from. I have stopped eating white bread, rice and potatoes etc. Go on veg and fishes!. Basically, the safest thing to be doing is to make sure you know the GI (Glycemic index) of any food you are eating to avoid not only sugary content but also carbohydrate which will eventually turn to sugar!. Once you are aware of those things you are going to be alright permanently. I bet you. I'm now very good. 👌👍

I was recently diagnosed with Diabetic Keto Acidosis and kinda (My interpretation) of Type 2 Diabetic in late July. My A1C was 14.2 when I was admitted to the hospital. Long story short, per my GCM, my A1C should be around 5.8 when I take my next A1C by then end of next month. I did take both long and fast acting insulin, up until yesterday. My blood sugar was in the 90's so I decided not to take my fast-acting insulin, and low and behold. I stayed in that range and if not a little lower after my 30 min. after eating spike. Tonight I will not take my long acting insulin if everything goes well. I do my best to eat low-glycemic foods. I'm not super strict but I think, I'm 90%. I have no idea how this will turn out for me. Because I waited so long to go the DR, but I can say this. I will do my best to beat it. I do not buy white bread, pasta and sugary things or drinks. I have had KFC and french fries but that is rare. Most of the time I eat homemade soup and ground turkey, but I think I will change it up now. I might try the keto or carnivore diet, so I can throw my body into Ketosis. This is where my body will burn fat and not sugar for energy.
