So, for track, how many speed endurance sessions are necessary per week?

Hey if I’m still under my first 2 years of training will Deep squats improve my explosiveness along with a box squat because I am untrained or are they still just a injury prevention exercise? I do box squats for 4x3 with 10-20% above my 1RM Full Squat.

The pfp looks cool. What are your thoughts on resistance band sprints vs sled resisted sprints? I feel like sleds are better as with bands, the tension can change from each rep depending on how hard the partner is pulling

How much faster can I get next year if I’m running 13 second 100m at 14

I also run 13 seconds at 14, you can get down to 11.5s with great training the whole year.

@@phidzely I plan to train well and my target is 11.5 second or around that time, il update my comment on my progress

@@gj1233 cool! just stick with 2 - 3 times a week training, listen to your body and give it a break when sore or tired. sleep well, get good nutrients, and dont forget to train your feet! these are just general tips.

I was a collegiate 400 hurdler and I graduated college last year. I have taken the past year off and have gained about 40 pounds, but I want to start competing again and get fast. Should I lose the weight before I start sprinting or can I just go right into it?

I like the cut G So 80m is not speed?
@justjumari5 ай бұрын
Anything about 6 seconds is not speed work, so nah

You have about 7 seconds of pure Anaerobic energy. This is what we call "free energy" after that it moves to the Fast Glycolytic system (which is still anaerobic) think of pure Anaerobic energy reserves as your 100m energy system and the Fast Glycolytic system as your 200m and 400m energy systems. 80m isnt PURE SPEED but it could still aid in helping you improve your Max velocity ( pure speed) if you program design the workouts. Stick to 0 - 60m (max) per rep not exceeding 300m total for pure speed days. Let's go Speedster!

is jogging 3 months out from season to get into better shape okay or will it only hurt my performance(only like 15 mins a day)
@LukeBilly-im4tr5 ай бұрын
Yes it will depending on your event. Elite sprinters[60-400m] do not run longer than a mile [ jogging] instead, elite athletes do strength training and hill stuff at max effort to provide the endurance needed to sprint for longer while still maintaining their speed, they also do tempo short repeated intervals to gain fitness while maintaining speed e.g 3x350s at submaximal effort or 4x250s at tempo.
