This was a good listen and very refreshing from a Pakistani perspective, especially when raising children. Alhamdulillah I am becoming more and more secure in myself and the perspectives and ideas of others really doesn't bother me anymore, I guess its just aging really. You start to care less and definitely don't worry about FOMO anymore (fear of missing out).

The gossips, over- consumption, Child abuse ( verbal or physical ) , Weddings , the forced Meet and greet , food and just the general Mindset of the people. Those people who say " Log kya bolain gay" are only projecting themselves. They judge others and know how others would do it too. They want security. So the only thing that can confirm it is formalities and putting on a mask to show the world how it's all great while the home crumbling apart from the inside. Hearts are blackened , there's no community, no sincerity.

But you said "log kya kahain gay walay log are only projecting themselves", what you said is very deep and something that I understood probably now in my life. And you realizing this thing at this age mean you know the reality and are at peace and will stay at peace forever. This is the reality that people are only insecure from inside and they try out everything to fill in that void and in order to ensure that what they are doing is right, they call others wrong who aren't doing such stuff. You are very right Sis, we shouldnt adopt any trait or fashion for others, but you are saying it in a way that this issue is more in Pakistan than other places, although my observation is that this issue is much more severe in west and overseas Pakistanis, Im in states and the problem of judging others on the basis of brands they use and using purposelessly expensive things just to show others is much more worse here. I have seen couples having their marriages lost just because specially women pressurize their men for buying more expensive houses than their capacity and many more things just because they want to establish their financial status before others and in this path they make their guys real mental patients and in many of the cases their marriage breaks. Im not sure if you are or not but i feel like maybe you are also an overseas Pakistani because this is also a very common trait here in overseas Pakistanis that they are mostly criticizing Pakistan and people living in Pakistan and at times even laughing at them while knowing nothing actual about Pakistan

It is true about this Pakistani tactic or complex, the desperate attempt to gain respect or power by trying too hard to look rich (showing off) to get something done or pressurize but it doesn't last. This is an insecurity that people depend on to get validation from others they depend on shaska (image) but feel powerless without it. Majority of Pak People here dont even know themselves or want they want in life.
