The part about proposals was very interesting. For me, I want proposals to be a conversation done in private and (depending on your culture) maybe with the parents too. As a relatively avid listener/viewer of OTV's podcasts, I've noticed that they've gotten more... mature? Even if some of their topics are still silly/controversial/degen (lol) you can really see the growth and maturity in these three in how they speak generally and on the topics, as time has passed. Great work guys, keep it up.

@Fabius11k7 ай бұрын
Making Brodin & Jodi hosts is certainly a banger move - the set looks comfy and a lot of cool topics were covered this episode - but the one thing I am not quite used to is how wide everyone is sitting apart, or at least it looks like that. Feels a bit difficult to look at everyone at the same time, but that may just need adapting. Certainly looking forward to more with that duo! :D
@cookiecutter967 ай бұрын
I think the segment about Toast's incel and Jodi's pick me pasts had the potential to expand into a longer discussion worthy of an entire podcast episode. The current setup of flying through a million short segments where they share half-baked or barely informed opinions before moving on is basically making the same mistake as last season with the only difference being fixed hosts this time around.

this has always been like this this, why do u think Poki decided to start her own pod? she knew early no one in the group knows how to hold a conversation properly, no banter, no jokes, no trolling just mindless hopping from one topic to another and saying the first thing that comes to mind

the fake positivity segment where they discussed women in the space commenting on other women's posts was interesting bc qt and maya talked about that on wine about it. they said that they're not the type to leave comments, so they tried commenting under one of jodi's posts and felt goofy about it. it was a good episode

I like this reboot. I feel like the segments are a little chaotic. Maybe have an intern to produce and another one to perform multimedia research. Also throw in some interest based content like upcoming video game releases, events and festivities in the scene, as well as some exercises in roleplay, improv and “yes and” bits. Always be booking friends, and trading out other’s podcasts. Collaboration is key.

I think part of it is also that media never shows people asking, usually the characters end up with their faces close for some other reason first or someone leans in. It also seems awkward to explicitly ask.

Weddings in my culture are focused more on the joining families than the couple. My husband and I planned our American wedding in December (we live in Wisconsin), on a Sunday, no kids, and catered an assigned seat dinner. This helped us limit our guest list for our parents, otherwise, we'd have over 600 guests, who are all somehow related. And we paid for the wedding ourselves so our parents couldn't go over our heads.

When my husband and I got married we chose a venue with maximum capacity of 60 people, this way it wasn't a lie when we said we didn't have the space for everyone. We also decided to exclude extended family (i.e. we had siblings, parents and grandparents only). Honestly, if people are hurt by this it's their own problem, we are not responsible for others happiness, weddings are goddamn expensive

There's a lot of variants of zombies. One of my favorites was from Return of the Dead (can't remember which number) and they had a zombie strapped to a table and it talked. Their bodies decay like its a corpse and they won't die from that, but in that movies universe, they feel the decay and it hurts. However the only time the pain goes away is when they eat brains. So they do have minds and can talk but are lost to the pain and go feral.

Regarding the topic of asking for a kiss: When I was in my late teens, I remember having a conversation with a group of classmates about going on dates in general, and one of the girls made a point that asking for a kiss indeed would be viewed as a turnoff, and she was confident that it would be an expected reaction "on average". She stated that it would be much better to suggest kissing instead of asking for a permission. In her words, the difference between "Can I kiss you?" and "Do you want to kiss?" is a huge one, at least in terms of showing an "acceptable" level of self-confidence without crossing the boundaries of another person. Personally, I never got to use this advice directly. Either things developed naturally towards the kiss, or it was obvious that they weren't going that way. The only time I was not sure, and was close to suggesting, I ended up directing the conversation in the way that my date caught on "the offer" before I got to voice it, and just... plainly asked me if I want to kiss x) This makes sense, though, because relationships in general require you to understand your partner(s) and pay attention to their feelings. Non-verbal clues are a natural and easy way to express feelings and desires without putting them into words or even structured thoughts in your head. If you can't see them or misread them, there is a significant chance that something isn't working. It is fine, though - some people are just not compatible with others. Or some phases or states of our lives are not compatible with concept of relationships in general.

For me private proposals are way more special and more thoughtful especially if it has personalized elements in it. Maybe a few friends to plan out something if it's that kind of proposal. Public spaces ruin the moment imo. Also it lessens "pressured to say yes" moments if it's a more intimate thing. As a filipino, idk about how would I plan the wedding, just my dad's and mom's family we're already around 50 people. 😂 Then there's friends, and my partner's family/friends. Every filipino wedding looks like a party. 😂
