I have this amp, prior to when they switched from Supro branded speakers to Jensens. It's so touch-sensitive and colorful! Obviously, its drive tones are the selling point, but it just sings and sings when played clean with some of that sparkly tube tremolo turned up. I'm recording an album with this as my primary amp right now, and I'm super proud of the sounds I'm getting out of this thing. It's also assembled in the USA, so looks to appreciate in value. A truly special find in my local used gear store. You show it off so well!

Nice one Landon. "There's a blizzard outside." I love these little narrative flourishes in KZbin vids. It broadens the picture and makes it easier to connect. Instead of simply watching some random person on a screen in some unknown place. Anyway, nice job, it truly is a beautiful looking amp.

I would use an ABY splitter box and run the Princeton on one channel with reverb and the Supro on the other channel...you'd get an amazing spread of tonal gloriousness (is that even a a word?) It's a great looking amp...looks like a suitcase Houdini might have pulled tricks out of on a stage! I really love that amp....great showcase! That SG and Dark Knight tele cover a lot of sonic ground....two great sounding guitars...

The best Amps I've heard and played out of was the older Vox ADVT and VT100 series Valvetronix Amps back in the early 2000's hybrid Amps at the very best wish Vox would reissue these Models

@@brendansmith9674 I have a 2007 Vox ADVT50 and 2008 Vox VT100 2×12 both bought brand new everytime I play either one I get compliments on how good they sound my friend has a 1982 JCM800 Marshall and he said he wished it sounded as good as my Vox's

Great vid! Thanks. The 1696RT Black Magic is the one with reverb. It also has a Power knob. So it can tame the volume and still sound awesome, but yeah, these amps always sound best when loud 🤟 Greetings from Down Under.

I have a Supro Dual-Tone, which is very similar, 24-watt, 1 12" Eminence. The amp sounds great cranked but is very capable of producing excellent clean sounds as well. You don't have to push the amp to only high volumes to get the best out of it. It's a different amp but the setup and build are very similar. I believe the Magick replaced the Dual-Tone. Great amps.

I happen to have both this amp and a '68 Custom Princeton (the reissue silverface one from a few years back), and I think the Supro is more in line with a medium-wattage Fender like a Vibrolux. You obviously miss that spring reverb being built-in, but I think I prefer the Supro's tremolo. Both amps take pedals really well, but a Supro with a boost running in front of it just does magical things in terms of being touch-sensitive. Blackface Princetons are well known for those glassy cleans, the 68 Customs are a little warmer in terms of tone, and the Supro is by far the warmest of the three. It's far louder than its 25 watt rating suggests - it would easily hold its own against AC30s and tweed Bassmen.

Worth investing in a power attenuator for this amp. I had a Tweed 5E3 that sounded best all the way cranked and bought an atttenuator so I could always play it that way. Cops were never called to the house by the neighbors.

I find tremolo hard on my ears, it makes me uncomfortable. Love some reverb. Cool amp..hey LB is that pro 2 routed for a humbucker in the neck? Don't tear it down, just if you know off hand.

I think it sounds great. It's unapologetic for what it is and I respect that. But... I find amps with inputs and controls on the top irritating to the point that I don't think I'll ever buy another amp that doesn't put the input(s) and controls on the front.

I understand completely but I'm also on the petty side when it comes to my amps. I get the whole functionality thing with the controls out front, but there is just something 'shiny' that lures me in to an amp with nothing but that lush, sultry grill cloth for days trimmed off by the cabinet wood frame and topped off by that 'garnish' of the name plate emblem...gets me every time.

I'm not generally a shelf or stack guy mostly due to $ but also because of how I prefer to set my gear up. $ has been the primary cause of only having an amp (possibly a cab as well or another amp) at a time so having the cosmetic perk of the knobs on top more often than not isn't an issue.
