He is highlighting a way for the administration to achieve their “human right” goal of affordable housing by eliminating this extra cost of requiring homeowners to pay for energy-saving features costing an extra $32,000. As a senator, he has to rely on HUD to eliminate that extra cost. Unless he can use his position on the Senate Appropriations Committee to withhold appropriations from HUD until she does remove that stipulation, perhaps.

Her answers are dodges! I know for a fact that home costs are Biden related - our youngest and his wife bought a 20 year old house during Trump’s last year of office for nearly 0% interest. They sold it three years later when interest rates were just beginning to go up and sold it for 3 times what they paid for it. Paid off the first loan and put a down payment on a brand new home still under construction about 15 months ago. They are paying > 6% interest on the new loan and are fortunate to still have some cash cushion left over from that first home sale. I gotta agree with Kennedy’s line of questioning. I know of no one who can honestly say that they are better off financially, or in any other way, now than they were under Trump.
