In my teenage years the Frampton Comes Alive album comes out. My friends and I listen to it religiously we loved it. Life goes on I got older I got married I had children. On my 50th birthday my son bought tickets for the both of us to see Peter Frampton. Two generations enjoying the same performer with one of the greatest days of my life we both had a great time I'll never forget that day.🎸🎸🎸

Oh, so you listened to it 'religiously'!? Mr. Robert, I have a true story for you. It's enough to make a believer out of a doubter: He's mentioned on page 2 of Mr. Frampton's memoirs, my earliest childhood, 'JD'. When we were kids, I woke up on Christmas morning with 'JD', and he received a guitar as a present from his Dad. About 15 years later, Peter Frampton sent 'JD' to Caracas, Venenzuela in search of his lost Les Paul. 39 years after that, 'JD', showed up at my brother's deathbed the day before he died. He stood next to me while I sang and read from The Gospel according to John to my brother. Back in the day, I never got around to listening to the "I'm In You" album; only the title track, and his cover of 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered'. Little did I know that there was a song on it, entitled-"St. Thomas: Do You Know How I Feel?" True story, Mr. Robert!

I remember seeing Frampton when I was in high school at JFK stadium in Philadelphia June 1977, 100k+ people there. It was 95 degrees out and the sun was just beating down on us. Lynyrd Skynyrd(Pre-crash lineup) came on right before he did. They encored with "Freebird" and the crowd was going crazy. It was like how do you top that? Frampton came out and crushed it. Out of all of the amazing concerts I've been to, this was one of the best.
@Mr.Robert13 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a great concert Christian happy that you were able to experience it when I saw Frampton it was great I will never forget it as long as I live I was right up against the stage not even in a seat. My son and I 2 Generations experiencing the same performer amazing. Been to many concerts in my life but this is the only concert that I've been to with my son so it was extra special to me.🎸🎸🎸

Great story Christian! I'm from the Philly suburbs and The Rolling Stones in 1981 at JFK was my first show. When you described the heat, I could totally relate, everytime I saw a concert there it was scorching! Along with the smoke and people puking, I miss that stadium! I envy you, seeing Peter Frampton during that period would have been a dream!

Not to mention the absolute most underrated rock singer of all time, Steve Marriott. Peter Frampton was a bit too sophisticated for the rawness of Mr. Marriott (RIP) I imagine.

Peter seems so down to earth and honest. I hope to be able to read his book soon. I saw the short bio on CBS, what an interesting life he's had. He's taking this IBM disease in stride, no feeling sorry for himself. Best of luck Peter, hoping for a return to music, but thanks for the memories!

To the comment that nice guys don't always finish last, such is true but being a nice person myself people have a tendency of taking advantage of nice people. I live in Charleston too. You might remember this. About ten years ago, Frampton came to the Clay Center. I really wanted to see that show and couldn't because I had to work. I had to settle for reading the review the next day in the Gazette. That's one of my minor regrets. I told myself that if he ever comes back anywhere close, I will go, no matter what. Peter , I was shopping earlier this evening , I saw it and picked it up ! I saw the book and bought it before I saw this video or even knew you had written it . I will treasure it alway's ! Back in the era leading up to your live solo record , I was being lulled by the 3 pick-up Black Beauty model by way of various photographs on LP covers of different artists , yourself included . So by the time `Comes Alive' was released I carried those images in my mind every single day so when you released the record featuring you playing it on the cover and also your T.V. appearances to support the record it was like heaven on earth for me ! I saw you in `77 but you were playing a Silverburst by then , still sounded awesome though ! It wasn't until recent years was I informed that your Black beauty was a `54 model originally ? Thank you Peter sir' for giving me such a ultimate and total level of inspiration to make me want to play someday ! God bless you and all those who you hold dear !!!

That's great, funny! Love you, Peter. And it was the Day On The Green in the Oakland Colosseum, just across San Francisco Bay, from San Francisco. Two weekends in a row. I know I was there. And in one of the most iconic photo's of the first weekend Day On The Green... it's a shot looking down on the crowd from side stage. You are in it. And so am I. I've got a rather well endowed woman who was adamant she be allowed on my shoulders to play the Tambourine you zinged me, ("On Three"). Just a couple rows back. Fleetwood Mac, who finished before you were up on the scaffolding above the stage watching you play, they were somewhat obscured by the Stage Scrim. Stevie Nicks was drinking champagne and tossing me strawberries, my friend was a bit incredulous when you came over and addressed me about the Tambourine, LOL. I've been carting that Tambourine with me since 1976 in the hopes I could reunite you wth it. Thank you for the music. I tried so hard to make it the Vina Robles Amphitheatre last year...I pray the years to come are good to you.

Saw Pete at Soldier Field in Chicago on August 13th, 1977. I was 15 years old and worked for the Chicago Park District. All I had to do was show them my Employee ID badge at the gate and walk in for free. There was no connection between the gate and the vending office so I got to see a lot of concerts this way. The line up for that show was UFO, Rick Derringer, Bob Seager, and of course... Peter Frampton. Being an employee I could get backstage by just looking like I belonged and I got to talk to Pete before he went on stage. I told him "Frampton Comes Alive" helped me get laid and he just laughed and said "Glad I could help" He was very cool about it.

So sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Last December, unaware of your diagnosis or the finale tour, I decided to learn the bass part for "Baby, I Love Your Way" and perform the song with some friends at a concert.

Saw him with Humble Pie at Fillmore West and twice at The Winterland Ballroom where part of Frampton Comes Alive was recorded. Then many years later playing at the Knocti Harbor Inn at Clear Lake.

"Frampton Comes Alive"? Everybody in the world has Frampton Comes Alive. If you lived in the suburbs you were issued it." Saw you live a couple of years back; you haven't lost a step. All the best to you, 'cause you gave all the best to us. (Just bought the audiobook.)

I LOVE FRAMPTONISMS... ... Guitar licks at their finest. Thanks for everything, Peter. The great night in '99, and all of the jam-a-longs til today! I Don't Need No Doctor... ... at "11" 😎👍 Yeah, baby.

Ich hoffe ich sehe Peter Frampton noch einmal Live in München. Frampton ist einer der besten und legendärsten Musiker die ich kenne.
