I did learn " do, ra,mi" singing in grade school in Toronto Canada in the early 1960s, and music was taught to everyone and the school had a choir. Nice times. Since beginning guitar wisdom, you have re-introduced me to the importance of singing the do, ra, mi, and I have picked it up quite easily again. I just want to say that Guitar Wisdom is amazing, you are a great teacher Tomo, thanks for sharing your experience, thoughts and knowledge with us. Cheers, Steve Wilson Courtice, Ontario Canada

Hi sir. You are such a good teacher. Btw, I also want to mention that I can really hear "Japanese sound" from your phrases. It feels like I can hear the OST songs from anime I used to watch when I was young, like Chichi Wo Motomete from Voltes V. Can you also tell the name of the song you played in the beginning? I can't place it!

@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you for your prompt response . I am a Guitar Wisdom student. Your jazz lesson solos are "spiced-up" with wonderfully articulated descending glissandos ( pull-offs ). I am not satisfied with mine because the action on my guitar is too low ? How did you develop such clear glissandos , each note is so articulated even when you are playing 32nd notes ? Your glissandos are "sax-like"- congratulations ! Being Japanese too I would love to communicate with you about integrating "Japanese Rhythmic and Harmonic" elements into the soul and funk .. grooves we love to play, my grandmother had this way she used to walk that I called the " oriental shuffle" , feel free to email me . Your composition Kyoto is beautiful including the Shamisen like way you strum a few chords in it .

I prefer using numbers (1-7) because “Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Si” actually refer to “C, D, E, F, G, A, B” so if you’re not in C Major (Do Major), then it’s confusing to play in G major and play a G, and say “Do”. 😅

People either start out with fixed or movable do. I think learning movable do which focuses on intervals and relative pitch to the key is more useful and easier to learn personally.
