Self-publishing like a professional is hard, but FORTUNATELY, Atticus helps us do it for paper and ebooks--it's an enormous relief! Before knowing of any economic aspect of it, I thought that it would be nice to have the book in all formats so that the reader to pick what suits him/her best. But it's great when there is a market for it, too! Derek also gives a course related to audiobooks that I heard is great.

Thanks, Monique. I can't wait to finish my book and format it on Atticus.

Thanks, Monique. This is perfect timing! I'm going to do an audio version of my book, "To Rescue a Witch". I plan to do all the female characters and hire an actor for the male roles. I used to be an actress, but I've never done voice over work, so I'm glad your guest will cover all the basics. Looking forward to the class!

I love it when timing lines up perfectly like this!

Writing for voice is different than writing for books; shorter sentences, different dialog structure, sometimes different words.
@AtticusWriter4 ай бұрын
That is true, but many audiobooks are reproductions of the written book. There are some productions that are designed with the audio in mind first, absolutely, but that's not specifically what's discussed here.

I have books on Amazon and on Audible. I sell 4 or 5 times more audio books than paperback and ebooks combined

Wow, that's interesting! I had no idea so many people liked audio books! I never cared for them personally, but then again, I prefer paper books over ebooks too lol 🤣

If I can't stay the entire time (working with clients) will I get a replay link? Thanks
@AtticusWriter6 ай бұрын
Yes, as long as you're registered, you should get a link for the replay, you just may not be able to ask your questions in the Q&A

Thanks for the vid. Audiobooks for many reasons are a huge thing for books. I use Atticus, am a narrator, and I have published without audiobooks or the ability to narrate at the time, and I still use my original narrator because we dual narrate. I've got all sides of the spectrum. No matter how it is done, it's expensive, whether it be in dollars and/or time. AI audiobooks are not liked very well and can hurt your ratings, not to mention taking jobs from humans. Be careful what you advise in the future. A guest is great, but I'm just saying be careful.

Sorry if there was any confusion in my video, but I didn't actually make any recommendations, beyond being aware of the options available and potential of audiobooks. I certainly didn't recommend AI audiobooks!

@@AtticusWriter nah.. didn't mean that either. I was just informing is all. It's a great video, but there is so much open space for people to misunderstand. traps I fell into getting all excited.

@@IshkiiaPaige I completely agree! I'm a big advocate from learning from as many different sources as possible - everyone has a unique experience!

Unfortunately, I missed it, too. But it's good to know that there is a course out there, that is so good that Atticus recommends, and hope not to miss the next course opportunity.
