Great demonstration! Perfect location for it with all the detail in the grass/crop.

It's not absolutely necessary to use manual camera setting nor strictly follow the 180 shutter speed rule to get great results. Unlike fixed cameras, flying cameras require variable exposure levels when flying toward the sun one moment and then away from the sun the next moment. The camera auto exposure is very good at making those adjustments for you automatically. However, during daylight, the shutter speed will be in higher ranges not idea for motion blur. You just need an ND filter that reduces the shutter speed range to around 100-200 to give good results. Apply an ND filter (and set ISO limit at 400) to lower the shutter speed range and let camera auto mode make the necessary exposure adjustments to the dynamically changing lighting conditions. Tip: You can turn subtitles on to view the actual shutter speed used in every frame. This is a good way to benchmark each ND filter in different lighting conditions. I find 16 or 32 are good for daylight and 8 or no filter during golden hours. Test it out yourself to see what works for you. I prefer to keep things simple and focus more on flying and composition.

I was thinking it looks very blurry, finally got my phone to switch up from 360p, no bloomin wonder. Very sharp once in high Res.

If you dont ruin you footage with a wrong choosen nd filter you can simply add motionblur in past with Davinci Resolve -> Add Motion blur effect to you footage -> effect options „from previous frame“ -> adjust the effect strenght and you good to go with the original footage without lensflares, higher iso and so on from the filters

Great illustration of motion blur. I found the mini 4 pro freewell nd filters also have lens glare. I’ve just picked up the DJI brand nd filter to take a look if flare is still an issue. Great video, great flying. Thanks for putting in the work. 👍🏻 Cheers from Australia.

Thanks! Thats Interesting! Let us know if the DJI filters do have lens flare.

@@andykirby I haven't noticed any flares on my DJI filters so far.

Perfect. thanks. I think motion blur is the opposite of what I want when I am doing CGI camera tracking. Any tips?

Personally, I think the "Motion Blur" thing is a bit overrated. Everyone seems to think this is what the cool flyers all need to do... But , I kinda like to to look down at the details passing by sometimes. BTW, yes, I do have an Avata 2 and yes I do have Freewell ND filters.
@andykirby7 ай бұрын
Like all techniques they have their place. I think you are right in that it's better to be able to see the details when actually flying, having the blur in the goggles might not be desirable.

@@andykirby I’m personally also interested in looking at the details in the actual video that is presented to the viewer as well

Maybe I'm judgmental but looks worse to me. Don't like the lens flare from sun.

Had to be a smudge on the filter👀 it disappeared when he wiped the lense. A polarized filter would do better for glare👍🏾

I'm glad you got this drone. Great flying! I cannot wait to save up and get one. For now I'm with the mini 3 Pro. But, I will be saving this year
@andykirby7 ай бұрын
Thanks! The mini 3 pro is great, you can actually fly it with the goggles 2 and older motion controller in FPV mode but it won't sustain a crash 😁

I wonder if the official Dji filters suffer from lens flare as well.

Is the flare at 6:40 repeating in your flights? Does it belong to Freewell brand, did you have chance to use DJI’s filters?

Great video. I like the sharp video that 4K60fps gives. Why would you want it blurred 😅? What sort of range do you get from the Avata 2

Thanks, sometimes filmmakers want a bit of blur to give the effect of speed.😁
