Good god. Now I have to do 20 sets single leg RDLs per week because there's something magic about them. Thanks, Austin...

Thank you for including this content! It is helpful to someone that just start strength training in her 40s and trying to be well rounded with general physical fitness and overall strength.

It would be awesome to see you guys do tutorials for less common assistance exercises like side lunges or split squats. Most people who found BBM know how to do the main lifts (somewhat at least), but it would be cool to see more standardization in those somewhat arcane exercises

Totally personal preference when it comes to unilateral vs bilateral. Such a personal thing. Everyone is different. I mix it up.

I feel that 500lb split squat roast was targeted at Mr. Eric Bugenhagen 👀👀

I mean obviously when you train bench press, using dumbbells is a great tool to aid in tackling weak points, so logic follows the same would apply to your legs with unilateral work.

„weak points“ lol

Overrated or underrated? specificity
@moistmayonese12052 жыл бұрын
By definition if something works for the skill you are trying to improve it is specific enough. Variation is also pretty important. Honestly discussing discussing variation vs specificity is kind of useless, because it is quite an abstract concept and real life examples need to always considered separately anyway.

I’ve been having a problem with my low back going out and being extremely painful for days following. This has been happening ever since 2017. I’ve had a consultation with Charlie Dickerson. It just happened again this week in trap bar deadlifts. Is there anything I can do to keep this for continuing to happen. I’m clueless on what to do. I’ve watched all your content trying to learn but still feel like my back is fragile. What direction should I go? What about 45 degree back extensions?

Still gonna probably not do them😂

Time to do split squats. I didn’t want to, but ah well! 🤷♂️

I've switched to barbell split squats using a front rack position. It's due to various injuries that don't allow me to do barbell back squats or regular front squats. It forced me to train individual legs and it's something I wanted to eventually get around to, in order to shore up weak spots in each leg. Funny how injuries force you to improvise.
@davidbenning102 жыл бұрын
@davidshmavid5 Very true. I’ve been forced to use other variations of squats as well due to an injury. Split squats are one of these that I can actually do to a decent depth. Thank goodness there’s almost always a workaround for training after an injury(-ies).
