In this video, I compare my BMW M135i F20 against an actual M car - a BMW M3 F80. My car is regarded as an M-Lite so this comparison is to see if the M-Lite is more than enough and how much better the M car is. Are you paying a lot more for just a badge?

Brilliant intro very funny - Great review and agree with the likeness to 335d sound wise at least, test drove one a few months ago but backed out kept the M135 in the end. M2 or M3 for me next I think.

Another good review Mizan - you deffo had a fair few smiles in the M3 :). Just impossible to compare an M lite to a real M car but you have to appreciate how the m lites (especially the m135s and m140s) are so well valued.

Had 2 M3’s early 2000’s awesome, Now I got m135i and it felt great on test drive I had to buy it. Over coming weeks realised when given a good thrash on street roads n bumpy carriageways in the early months of last year, that this car needed lots of attention to handling to be safe going fast. M2/3/4 lower control arms &tension struts mostly sorts the front right out, takes the footprint wider with some negative camber -2 ST XA coil overs / springs n dampers to stop the arse end bucking you off the roads Poly flex Bush the rear subframe to stop that squirmy feelin you get accelerating over uneven surfaces and polylfex the diff Mperformance LSD to get that power down and stabilisers the car right up when pulling round and away from anything for better grip Few other parts with upgraded stock brakes, intake to turbo, mmr sump baffle , crank seal guard and it’s a much better sorted car (add tune). Cars not M still, yet above m-lite : m-heavy! Good reviews and channel 👍

A lot of experienced M owners do like the M Lites for that they are. It's crazy how the balance is just so perfect between the two. Glad you sorted out the weak points of the car because they really do ruin the experience. I like the way you called it an M- heavy 🤣

I think the M Lites are definitely the better buy as in the real world you get that every day performance Then you get those F80 Rear arches man absolute perfection but I still prefer then V8 from the older M3 if only the F80 had a V8 😔

I think the M Lites are exceptional value for money. You can't dispute what they offer at the prices they go for. Then the M cars are just the creme de la crème and they're overindulgent but you still want them! I think BMW was the only company that was justified to downsize the engine with the E9x o Fix due to the straight 6 history whereas Audi with the V6 in RS4/5 just doesn't hit the spot

Absolutely. You'd think a 3.0l straight 6 is a 3.0l straight 6. Why does the extra numbers on an M Lite matter but it really does

Believe me it's really not. The M Lite is a taster because you can't get a 3.0l straight 6 in a normal BMW and then the M is just an animal
