The Lost Saucer was actually one of Sid & Marty Krofft's best shows. Had a memorable theme to the show. Plus who didn't like idea of traveling in outer space back then. This show was better than the Bugaloos at least.

The smile, the legs? “Bugaloos “ had a bit of the eye candy in its favor! Ruth Buzzi made me laugh but she definitely didn’t make me “feel funny “ , especially in the robot getup!!!

Your enthusiasm is contagious. Refreshing not to tune into a “ the 70’s was terrible like so many other of live action shows that have not aged well routine by other hosts.” We had 4 channels plus a few UHF channels and for its time a lot of these shows with limited budgets and technology were entertaining. I’m glad someone isn’t telling us we’re dumb for liking these shows. It was my childhood and it was pretty cool to be 8 in 1975. Thanks !!!!!! Tim

Alice Playten has also passed. She also played a part in "Legend" with Tim Curry , Tom Cruise and Mia Sara. She was the goblin . From what I have read Mr. Nabors didn't care for the show. I would hate to think this was true .

I remember this show. Saturday morning TV was the best. I'm glad I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Both live action shows, cartoons, and the best toy commercials ever made. Saturday morning TV has nothing for kids today. Government control of what is appropriate and what is not has destroyed everything we enjoyed when we were kids.

I will take the 60’s and 70’s any day over the craziness in the world and US right now. I never felt unsafe, we had respect for each other, if we fought, we made up the next day, we didn’t solve our problems permanently with guns. People bought what they could afford, they didn’t steal it. People had as many children as they could afford, and we’d be happy with what we had. Sorry, I went on a rant and sort of off subject. I miss the 60’s and 70’s.

In the early to mid 80's I used to love watching the Krofft supershow in the mornings before school and sometimes in the afternoon after school. At that time a lot of what we now call retro were just simply reruns. Wonderbug and Dr. Shrinker were my favorite shows within the show. Wow I love the 80's!

It's funny you should mention Lost in Space. One of the other kids shows back then, The Farout Space Nuts I think it was called with Bob Denver used the pod from the Jupiter 2 in its show.

I was 7 in the fall of 1975, and this was probably my favorite Krofft program. My all time favorite show as a child was Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, and when it was canceled, I clung to any show that was like it, and Ruth Buzzi staring in 'The Lost Saucer' made this a show I never missed. Thanks for this video, my wife has no memory of the Lost Saucer (she had a deprived childhood, LOL ), so we watched this vid together

Wow, I didn't remember this one at all. I loved the Sid and Marty Krofft hour in the late 70s and early 80s. I told my sister we used to watch a show with flying teenagers that were bugs that sang. No one remembered the Bugaloos but I knew I was right. I also loved Land of the Lost of course. Electra Woman and Dyna girl . They were all great. There is a great tribute to them on youtube . It is from a tv land awards show I believe. Fantastic. Thanks so much Dave for what you do.

I just recently watch this series on Tubi. It was a pretty interesting live show for Saturday morning. Jim and Ruth were both amazing performers who had a great likability factor to go along with their talents. I have not met many people that are even aware that this series exist. It's worth checking out if you're a fan of Sid and Marty Krofft shows or a fan of either of the shows lead actors. Thanks for the review!

The Best ones were: Land of the Lost, Far out Space Nuts, The Lost Saucer, Lidsville, Dr. Shrinker, H.R. Pufnstuf, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters and the original The Ghost Busters which was not a Krofft production but produced by Filmation.

Bingo-"Uncle Croc's bloc" was actually the beginning of the end for Filmation. The show did so poorly for ABC, that they yanked it and put reruns of The Groovie Ghoulies on in its place. As a result, ABC never ordered anything from Filmation again

Wow. Hong Kong Phooey. It sure would be hard to float that one with today"s PC culture. I liked The Lost Saucer. Well, what little I saw of it. I never watched Gomer Pyle USMC and hadn't discovered Andy Griffith at that point so this was my first exposure to Jim Nabors and Ruth Buzzi for that matter. I liked them right away. It all makes sense now knowing that each were complete professionals at this point of their careers. Both had great charisma and they worked well as a team. I was a fan of The Lost Saucer and still remember the show fondly. It certainly appealed to my childhood fantasy of being able to travel to space. It's funny that Alice was labelled Worst Babysitter Ever...but perhaps that's looking back from an adult's perspective. As a kid watching this, I thought she was the coolest babysitter ever! Nabors and Buzzi had great chemistry...they got on and argued like an old married couple which reminds me of my Mom and Dad, HahA! Thanks for posting!

I lived out in the sticks and did not do any organized anything on Saturdays so I lived for the excitement of new cartoons and shows on Saturday mornings. I absolutely loved this show when I was a kid. I was really young when it premiered. It probably first aired just prior to me turning 5 years old. I was absolutely mesmerized by it. Of course a little boy is going to love Androids.

Dave, my ray of utube sunshine! When this show came out I was a teenager, so was more interested in American Bandstand, Star Trek and Dr. Who (Tom Baker era). Most likely, my "highly sophisticated" 14 year old self was looking down her nose at "kid stuff" like I'd have thought this was. Thanks for these lovely walks through such better programming. We didn't have to be afraid of what we'd see or hear because, it seems to me, the people involved with these shows were much more civil, more decent and respectful. Thank-you for all your hard work. I am a faithful subscriber.

Loved watching this one with the others by Sid an Marty Kroft we even called our Great Dane the Dorse like on the show although ours wasn't part horse... lol.. great times

When I saw the name of the show and that it starred Jim Neighbors, I drew a blank. One of your last videos, (the one about Battlestar Galactica, I think) raised my curiosity about space shows of the 70's. I found this show in a list and still drew a blank, until I watched some KZbin reruns and then the light came on and it was an immediate, "Oh Yeah!" I remember that show, now. Seeing the Dorse in one of the episodes helped jar my memory. Thanks for the review. Watched a few of the episodes last week. Wish the show could have lasted another season or two and at least get Jerry and Alice back home. Thanks again Dave. Good Stuff. You were not kidding. Looked on Amazon for this VHS tape. $165.00, for a brand new copy. $60 for a used copy.

All I could remember was Jim and Ruth were in it and they had a Dorse. I kept on mixing the title up with Far Out Space Nuts

Don't forget the actress who played Alice supplied the voice for the secretary in Heavy Metal who is kidnapped in the So Beautiful, So Dangerous segment. She also was Blix in the Tim Curry/Tom Cruise movie Legend.

She's both the voice of the secretary in So Beautiful And So Dangerous and briefly voices one of the prostitutes at the police station in the segment Harry Canyon.

Yes! I remember this show. Back when Saturday morning cartoons and shows were still AWSOME😁😁😁😁😁! I was still in diapers back then, but I still remember The Lost Saucer (which got cancelled without any conclusion leaving viewers forever wondering if Fi and Fum ever got those two kids back home).
