I use visible wireless. My phone is a blade X1. I pay $25/month for unlimited service. I tether via USB to my Linux Desktop PC at home. My PC shares internet to a router via ethernet. My phone goes with me on the go. I keep it charged so no worries about battery life.

Phone tethering all the way. But can the ISPs really identify what data is tethered through your phone to another device versus used by your phone?

yes! this is monitored by your ISP by reading the TTL values coming from your phone. The TTL or "time to live" value of most android phones is, i believe, 64. when this value is recieved and monitored at your carrier this value will change depending on the number of devices currently using your phones hotspot/internet! now there are many different fixes for this, for example: my Laptops TTL value which was i think 128 is no longer 128.. ;) you can go ahead and simply change that to oh idk, 65 sound good? lol (replace this number with your phones TTL if different) by doing this very simple modification in your laptops command prompt then by the time the traffic from your laptop runs through your phone (1 device=-1 to TTL value) and to your carrier the TTL value they see will be 64!

I tether to my pixel 5 when I'm out. My Tesla ME had is own LTE but using my phone's hotspot for the cars connection is cheaper.

Nope my laptop takes a sim card and I can pop it out my phone and use it directly plus take and make calls, text, etc

Hmm, I’m not sure if I am the focus of this survey, but I have a cellular phone and watch, but I will tether my iPad to my phone right now, though that may change, when I buy a new iPad…. I am considering buying a cellular version of one of those, soon. But I still prefer to use my home wifi, over cellular, if I am being honest.

I don't have home internet. The 5g on T-Mobile is good enough for me. I just plug Dex into my TV and I'm good.

Don't tether much I use T-Mobile I have an iphone 12 my daughter pixel 3a wife pixel 4xl op8 mi 8 about 12 others mee😁and my son uses Samsung S10 atm
