I hear your concern about "KZbin burnout". That fear of making every holiday contrived. You should take a peek at a channel called "Good Mythical Morning". They have done an amazing job at lasting on KZbin for probably over 10 years because they treat it like a normal job. They post Monday through Friday and all their fans are 100% okay with them having the weekends off. They also take a week off every spring break, summer, fall break, and Christmas/New Years. And everyone still supports them. I think alot of youtubers get burnt out because they feel like they have to perform and frantically shove out videos or else people will stop watching. Don't have that fear. We are your fans. We support you having breaks!

Could you just do a video of everything already opened and use that as a way to thank everyone? Run through each item and who its from? It would cut a lot less time or even run it as a credit at the end of the weekly q and a with a listing of thanks if you felt you needed to post something. To me cut the mail time and spend that time with your family!! Ppl we're starting to use you for PR and that's not worth your time unless its a product you truly believe in. It's one thing to help promote a friend but to spend as much time on stuff like that as you do and take away from your real life is wrong. It nice for ppl to send thoughtful gifts if they choose but also could be teaching the wrong msg to young ones that people will just send you stuff for putting yourself out there, not that that's what you are teaching them, that's not what I mean. It just got out of hand a bit

With two small children you need a "weekend" in your week. We'll still be getting six videos per week and then there is your entire history we can revisit if we really need a GA fix, so to speak. Enjoy your time off. Spend time with your children, read a book, make plans, take a nap, wander around the beautiful gardens you have created without having to work in them. My mother married my father in 1953. Their first home was a house that had no running water and an outhouse. My grandparents had a farm with a hand pump at the kitchen sink and everyone took a weekly bath in the same tub of hand drawn water. They got their first bathroom in the 60s. So, yes, Laura, your home could have had an outhouse not that long ago.

@@michellezimmerman7827 My grandparents also had a pump at the sink, added sometime after my mother left home to go to nurses training in 1945. Prior to that, they carried water from the spring. Ideas for non-project based/hot day videos for this summer: - cooking with produce from your harvest - indoor succulent planter or succulent tips - indoor fairy garden - hanging out with your mom - tour of another persons garden - plant/area updates (there’s a lot you’ve planted earlier this season or late last season that we’d love to see the progress on) - you guys have done these re-edit videos where you compile footage from an area throughout the years or a project from start to finish. We’d love to see that again and doesn’t require new footage, that would just be all Ken! Just some thoughts! Love it when some of your videos turn out to be an hour long. I've learned so much from you in the past 6 months of finding your channel. I have watch every video now and crave more. I guess I'm gonna have to go back a rewatch em again. I bet you could "own it" if you gardened here in Kentucky. We get rain, our soil is rich and grows about anything you could want. Wish I could garden like you do with all your plant knowledge and your ability to design beautiful flower beds. I'm too old and my body in bad shape now to do so much. We do have a garden that is almost an acre this year. My root cellar is getting bare, hence the big garden again. Love your channel, keep it up.

I liked the voice-over video where you got so much done in two or three hours with Aaron filming. It seems like those types of videos every now and then would help you to keep from getting burnt out. Also, updates are as important to me as the planting because it helps me decide what and how much of something I want to plant in my own garden or pots. I don't want to spend the money to totally pack out a pot and then spend lots of time watering and fertilizing to keep it looking decent through the hot part of summer. I had much rather put in enough plants to look good at the beginning and then slowly grow into something fantastic by the end.

The first and most important thing I've learned from Laura is that the garden will always be a work in progress. Makes it easier for me to try things without the fear of failure stopping any progress. 😍

Your holiday themed ones are Easter, Fall and Christmas. That's enough for me.

The 'Cutting back Salvia, Deadheading Roses...' video was wonderful. You did let us know so much about what you were doing. We love all your videos, BUT we also want you to be able to move along with the mammoth amount of work that exists, in some seasons even more than others, and this is a good way for you to monitor and control what you need to. Thanks for all you do for us, but remember YOUR needs also. 😍

The maintenance video was my recent favorite. Plus, it’s motivation in this horrid heat. My vote is for more day-in-the-life content.

STUDIO ECHO IDEA: I remember you talking about trying to improve the acoustics in the studio and also your desire to add some color, maybe try hanging come long curtains on one of the plain walls (not over the windows). Should instantly warm up the space aesthetically and tonality wise.

God bless Aaron for letting you know you had a tiny strand of hair sticking up (something that wouldn’t bother your viewers but would have bothered you). Good man.

CONTENT IDEAS: -Maintaining your vegetables, when to harvest , what to look for when things are ready to be harvested. -Maintaining your cut flower garden, when to know when or not to cut certain cut flowers or when or not to leave certain flowers for seeds I have a very SMALL garden channel so I know the struggle is real. I haven’t posted half of my stuff because of how much work it is. So I truly know how much work this takes, so thank you! I love watching the weekly ones like this. So please never stop!

That's some mighty fine ice in your glass. I like how your terracotta saucers have more than one function. Please continue calling your new installment The Hartley. That's what we know it as and we totally share in your excitement of you having one. Don't just call it a glass greenhouse. I can't imagine Harley owners refer to them as motorcycles or Corvette owners refer to their vehicle as cars. You bought it so you can call it what ever you like. ♥️

I love these recap videos the most. You two get so real in these videos. I love the banter, the honesty, and both your personalities coming through even more so in these videos than others you do.

There is no easy area to garden in. Everyone has their challenges and blessings. We all just need to learn how to garden with what we are given.

I look forward to the start and the end of every beautiful day sitting with myself and /or my Husband, enjoying the simple pleasures in life… A cup of coffee and the motivation to go and grow in the garden…Your videos are so inspiring. Don’t ever feel bad about not being able to show everything that goes on in your life, raising children changes everything and most people understand….

LOVE YOUR SHOW. Just discovered your program - now binge-watching! Learned so much - clearly taught by you. Now this 72 YO is going out to buy house plants this weekend. AND my 75 YO hubby bought a hedge trimmer & got it done! Now he’s ready for boxwoods! Thank you & Aaron for sharing your your garden answers & your lives & your precious kids. BTW ignore comments about your hair, shirts, etc! BE YOURSELVES … that’s why we watch!

Really enjoying all your videos but the recaps became so special to me! What ever you do is good, don't feel compelled to make holiday specific, what you have until now is great and I love them. I do miss the days you don't have a video though I don't want you guys to burn out! ❤🤗❤

As much as I think the mail time videos are fun, it is evident that they are very time consuming for you to upload. I would say scrap them and much prefer that time to be invested in your garden. We also love mini-projects and I am so glad you enjoyed the voice over format - easy for you to smash your garden tasks - and pleasing for us to enjoy. I suggested before that if you do not upload videos on the weekend - it will make it only five videos per week. We will still be here to watch. We have the same temperatures as you but combined with humidity - and we can reach 45 degrees celsius (113F) on a regular basis. Love from sunny Sydney, Australia.

108 degrees f is about 42 degrees c. That is unimaginable to us here in the UK. I am in North West of England and the best we’ve had for the last few weeks is 17-18c (about 65ish) We class that as a lousy summer (especially as it’s wet a lot of the time) but it is fairly normal for us. We get overly excited when we have a run of 22-25c 🙄. On the upside we are forecast 22c sometime during the next 2 weeks (for about 5 days) and will count ourselves extremely lucky if it actually happens! We still have lovely gardens though - just not for as long a season as you. No wonder we Brits are obsessed with the weather 🙄 and we who follow you live our gardening dreams vicariously through your wonderful, inspirational and motivating videos. Keep them coming as it keeps us going! 😊

I'm glad that Laura wears what's comfortable for her and doesn't let people's opinions and pressure make her change. I wear long sleeves when out in the sun to protect my skin. I get hot but I always keep the hose handy for a quick cool-down.
