I'm a big RL Polo fan. I'd say half of my brand name clothes are RL Polo. I've actually had most of them for so many years. I prefer the ones they make that have a small logo and plain colors including the yellow and orange ones. Simple, classic, stylish.

Ralph Lauren from the 80's created a image of the time when the US economy was booming and it combined the old money royalty of europe to the new found wealth in the US. People now could own horses and join expensive clubs and he sold that your avg american can look like royalty. Genius. I worked on Wall St during the 80's It was a amazing time ...long gone and never to return.

He produced the clothes for the 1974 Great Gatsby starring Robert Redford (definitely worth the watch if you have not seen it). It is here the 'romance' and 'legend' of Ralph Lauren was born. I grew up in a family that worked for Brooks Brothers, my uncle was manager of a few BB stores my mother was secretary and my step father was in suits. Is there any reason now I wouldn't wear RL. BB and RL are so similar, after all RL worked for BB years ago. Today I wear nothing but RL beautiful clothes that never go out of style.

The great thing about this brand is that you can find a few pieces on sale every now and then. That's a great way to get your hands on some pieces. Plus you can also find excellent Ralph Lauren items on markets such as ebay for an affordable price!!

If I had money to buy Ralph Lauren anything I would... I have loved Ralph Lauren for decades but never managed to live beyond the poverty level. Still... I can hope... I did get a couple of Ralph Lauren jackets on Ebay used and they are gorgeous. I have some Ralph Lauren sheets.
