PS4 is trash! You can get maybe 4 good laps before they get greasy. I've used R1Rs before. While they may not be the best in their class. They are leaps and bounds better than the PS4s

If it's only a half quart, change it all the time. I don't think you will regret doing it.

Can the added grip from the more sticky tires cause the diffs to heat up faster? Or would this decrease the diffs workload? Out of curiosity.

It will cause it to heat up faster. Others that track these have proven that and are trying many solutions to fix the issue, including air ducts, fluids, wraps, and one is working on an external cooler. Not sure how that will work as there is no pump in there.

Is the 10mm allen both for the drain and fill plug of the rear diff and does it require a new gasket?

Yes and no. Same size. Pipe plug just has to be tight to seal.

PS4 are trash. What you are feeling is the AWD making up for how bad the tires are. If you want to be competitive you'll get rid of them. Literally everyone who tracks the GRC says that the first thing that needs to go are the tires and suspension. You can't be competitive with a 320 treadwear tire
