Glad to got to have some fun, at least, and that you weren't injured.

Over all, I log it as a great time with some great people at some great places.

Here I thought the alternator ruined the trip! I can't believe she hit your car! Did the airbags deploy? What a terrible thing to have happened! I started looking for alternators for my GT500. I have heard that high rpms and heavy electrical loads kill them. I would NOT use Oreilys. Two companies highly recommended on my forums are, PA Performance and Mechman.

It was a shocker for me too. No the air bags did not deploy. I did buy a 240 amp high output alternator (painted the same yellow as my calipers and valve covers) and the recommended 1AGW cables to support it. I will be installing it this weekend. I am not willing to count on anything less. When I asked Shelby if they had one, the shop lead, gave me a tip. He said because my car is a 2012 model I should have an alternator, steering box, and water pump on my shelf. I now have all three standing ready. LOL

@@DocsBoost which alternator did you buy?

I checked around and then called Tucson Alternator Exchange. They have a location in Tucson and Phoenix. I don't have the part number at my finger tips because I am not at home. I can tell you I bought the 240 Amp model with a painted housing. I bought the cables and connectors from another location and I will route and build the cables myself. If I remember correctly, the alternator cost right at $500. The 15' cables (black and red) with connectors cost $145. I got 15' because I wanted to make sure I had enough to route it any which way I wanted that worked best and not just the shortest way. LOL
