See. This is how you make an entrance. Nowadays they just show their faces in a dark hood and we all know who it is instantly. This is how you bring someone back and make the audience feel it. I am pretty sure everyone from series 1 and 2 had their hair on end when Rose Tyler/Bad Wolf came back from just this scene alone

That was I was thinking about too....He never talked about other companions to others, but everyone around 10th knew who Rose was without even meeting her, and he even would talk about her without being asked (like with Martha laying in bed and saying "She would know what to say now") And Donna! What a warm face she made when she said "why don't you ask her yourself" she is truly amazing non romantic companion of the doctor ^^

Aww..whenever Rose is mentioned The 'lovesick' puppy face comes out LOL it's so endearing...He lost her at the end of season 2 but he never got over her..That enduring OTP epic love continued right till his death where he crossed her timeline cause he needed her before he died and the best part was that everyone knew about her and Donna so shipped them =D

This was the turning point for me with Donna, the acting in the episode was incredible and this part was an absolute masterclass between her and Tennant in these scene, sets up the devastation of journeys end

Theory: the Bad Wolf had the ability to see across time and space. She would've been able to foresee the events of The Stolen Earth, and where the Doctor would be at that point in his time stream. So when scattering the Bad Wolf message across time and space to lead Rose to become the Bad Wolf, she also left a bunch of references to it here to warn the Doctor about what was coming.

We were talking about plot but whatever. RTD didn't introduced River Song it was in a Moffat eisode "Silence in the library". He also didn't gave us Jack it was actually a Moffat character in The Empty Child. Moffat gave us amazing characters like River, the ponds, Clara (best companion ever), Bill, Missy, the Paternoster Gang (Loooove Jenny), awesome vilains (Weeping angels, The Silence, The Veil, Davros), interesting and original story lines that doesn't focus about "omg the daleks are going to destroy the world" like The Cracks in time, the doctor's death, Clara, the promised land etc... And most of all he gave us awesome episode such as Listen or Heaven Sent that probably are the best episodes of the whole show

Agreed, the Tenth Doctor truly loved Rose and never got over her. It was both wonderful and sad when he went to see her one last time during End of Time. I felt so sad for him, he felt so alone. Man this show truly knows how to pull on your heartstrings. Ten/Rose Epic love story.

Rose wears a lot of make-up and doesn't come from a wealthy family but that is literally where the similarities end. She doesn't wear inappropriate clothing or flaunt herself, she's very empathetic and concerned about the people around her rather than superficial. She's insecure and sometimes selfish but no more than a normal person. I thought the whole point of New Earth was pointing out her modesty and empathy compared to someone like Cassandra who is so superficial.

Yes, she’s a very three dimensional character. Rose (and pretty much all of RTD’s companions for that matter) are very real and have substances them. They have good points and bad just like any normal person in real life. Something that has been lacking in the companions for a while now. This shows good writing and the hints of foreshadowing ever since Rose left where very well planed and thought out. I miss Russel T Davis and wish we could get him back as show runner for the sake of the fandom.
