Also, I think they are leaning into the fear angle too hard in order to draw clicks and viewership. I believe they should uphold proper journalistic standards and stick to the facts!

I live in Italy, in one of the red zones. my father “quarantined” me and the rest of my family, rightfully so, but he is E X T R E M E L Y anxious, like many of my classmates, after all; I got attacked for spreading verified information from the WHO website. the biggest epidemic here is stupidity. luckily, these series have helped me keeping my cool, being alert but not anxious. also, they’re really entertaining. nonetheless, I just really hope stuff gets better. I hope the US can manage to deliver the best care and prevention. follow the instructions of the government and take care of yourself and be warned if you have symptoms and/or you’ve been somewhat recently (in the last 2 to 28 days) physically near to someone who’s been diagnosed. I hope that the price of the test has decreased. :)

My mom was still working when Covid-19 hit and she was civil service working in a hospital on an AFB. They literally rounded up all the hand sanitizer in all the offices that didn’t belong to medical staff so they could use it. Luckily my mom had hand sanitizer saved because they’d give it out promoting new drugs. Let’s just say age was everybody’s favorite because they still needed hand Sanitizer themselves but it was confiscated. It was wild.

Still, the whole world stood watching China's extreme measures, while not even bother to order some extra supplies of protective equipment and medicine. Back in March 2020, I was about to hit 27 and my best friend just had a heart attack. Combine that with the Covid pandemic I started freaking out. I had several panic attacks which feel like you’re having a heart attack. My brain made me think I couldn’t breathe… it was probably the most scared I have ever been. The media of Covid at the time definitely formed that fear for me. I’m not saying it’s not serious, but how the media portrayed it at that time definitely made me overthink, and with my friend’s heart attack, I freaked out. I love this guy!

Thank you for not putting more politics in your video than you absolutely have to. You really gained my respect today. That said, the news is not in any way interested in reporting the facts. I saw a video in which a hospital was overflowing with patients sleeping in the hallways, but I'm semifluent in Italian and picked up right away that all of the signs there were in Italian. How long have you been in this country, Dr. Mike? Our "law makers" are not interested in your respect anymore, just your votes, your tax dollars, and campaign donations. That ship sailed decades ago, and I don't know if it's ever coming back. My husband and I caught it at the same time a year ago. The VA asked if they could track our progress so that they might learn more about COVID. They sent us an aural thermometer and a pulsoximeter and asked us to check in with our temperatures and blood/oxygen reading (I think that's how you say it) every morning. We were miserable, but at no point were we ever scared of dying. That's mostly because A. We're a couple of tough old birds, and B. With our Christian faith, we know where we're going when we do. I had the shots last year because, again, my doctor requested it because we didn't know enough about this thing. But you know by now that a lot of it is political. The state of Illinois shut down churches and small businesses, but not big box stores and pot shops. It's like they always say, follow the money.

I see all these lines for testing and for vaccines and the first question I ask is why aren't they seeing their personal physicians? I did and I talked to her about my concerns. We had a rational conversation and she allayed my fears and gave me information on how to protect myself, things I was already doing. I asked if her clinic was getting the vaccine. She said yes and put me on her list to receive it. Her clinic system received the Moderna vaccine. Both my husband and I received the two doses in the appropriate time period.

Depending on where you live even getting an appointment to see your general practitioner can take months, and that’s assuming people even have one. I think your approach makes total sense. there’s also a lot of people out there that avoided going the doctor for three years out of fear of being exposed, and distrust of doctors. 🤷🏼‍♀️ People can be weird when it comes to medical things. I know people that were so concerned about going to the doctor and getting a cancer diagnosis that they’d wait until they had stage four cancer and there was nothing more to be done about it rather than catching it early.

Journalist's job is also the doctor's job in this instance-- they are supposed to tell a factual story that ensures a well-informed populace. The thing is, we've allowed media to treat everything up to complete BS as "the other side of the story we need to tell" and have to try to survive a brutal for-profit market where only the biggest players can possibly survive.

If you want videos educating you on what we know of covid 19 so far and what we need to do to prevent spreading you can find other videos on his channel or look it up on WHO’s website. Dispelling myths and making sure spreaders of false information are questioned is imperative in saving the lives of people in risk-groups to whom covid 19 can be very leathal.
