More than eight months into Israel's devastating assault on Gaza, the territory's healthcare system is barely functioning, with the World Health Organization reporting this week that there have been 464 Israeli attacks on Gaza's healthcare system since October 7, affecting 101 health facilities. Gaza's Health Ministry warns that the few remaining hospitals still partially functioning could completely shut down due to Israel's near-total blockade of the territory, which is keeping out parts needed to maintain hospital diesel generators, as well as crucial medical supplies. Over 37,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's war on Gaza, and nearly 85,000 Palestinians have been wounded. "The situation in Gaza … remains catastrophic," says Dr. James Smith, an emergency medical doctor just back from Gaza, where he treated patients for nearly two months. "There are no fully functional hospitals any longer in Gaza and no health facilities that are able to absorb the sheer scale of need now."

This is just a wild thought. Considering things/experiences in my own life and working towards reconciliation and healing. If the judges can't do anything or the politicians or the fighters. What about one of a potential of groups or individuals who might have some positive input. The hostages who are alive and free ? I understand some, many - maybe all will be too traumatised to even think of having even a shred of resonance with the Palestinians they encountered - those who were suffering too - as human beings. Was there ever a point, amongst the myriad nightmarish thoughts where you wondered - "WHY - why the suffering, death - insanity ?' Where at some level you could, even for a moment, relate to those on the 'other side' with you - suffering too - lost in darkness. I am not talking the militants here - but ordinary people. I cannot see any good outcome in this at all and it lasting far longer with Israel having done itself and its people a terrible disservice. I don't wish that on ANYONE and have lived through battles myself. But I wonder - is/was there any point of 'meeting' with each other at some level, during all of this, after having been to hell already ? Looking up - a way out for all of you. ? If the planet is not annihilated in the near future - maybe you could be a real catalyst for change ? DO NOT underestimate your power for GOOD. Especially being borne of your own sufferings - to both 'sides'. The only other option it seems is that everyone slaughters everyone else til there are not left to slaughter or be slaughtered. Maybe this is not 'the end' - but the end of a road coming to a fork - with a CHOICE for a better way ahead for all. You people could provide some invaluable insight/help in this. Perhaps. I hate to see anyone suffer for any reason. But there will come a time when you will either ALL be dead or HAVE to sit and talk. It won't be easy - but the sooner the better. Look to the humanity in each other. You CAN DO that still. Yes, I have seen this work in life.

Kind of mirrors what other Hamas leaders have said in the past that they need the blood of their children, women and elderly to advance their revolution. While their leaders sit in 5 star luxury in Qatar, counting their stolen billions intended for their own civilians. What brave men they are. They celebrated and livestreamed their Oct 7 massacre, wonder if they're also happy when their actions directly lead to the massacres of their own civilians.
