I haven't worked in 8 years. I graduated as Medical doctor from a Ukrainian university and moved to turkey after graduation, worked in the field of medical tourism as a consultant for foreign patients at several Turkish hospitals but never did any internship or took any licensing exams. So there is a huge clinical gap and no internship certificate from India or Turkey. Now we want to move to Australia with my husband. Which pathway for me who is a medical graduate with no internship no clinical practice and no license with a gap of 8 years.

Hello I did FCPS in Nephrology from Lahore and has 2 years post fellowship experience in Saudiarabia. Which pathway do you suggest me to opt for getting job in Australia? If i opt specialist recognition, then for how long i have to do BPT in australia and after that what type of exam i have to give? Would it be theory exam or Viva exam after BPT? Your response will be appreciated.
@EmergencyFocus
@EmergencyFocus Жыл бұрын
from experience you may get partial recognition of time of training for BPT depending on where you have done training and work but most likely have to do some advanced training. FRACP exam will have to be re-taken

Hi sir Thanks for your beautiful videos I have a Saudi board of internal medicine since 2years can I apply for specialist pathway? And if I apply for short term trains program I can apply later for specialist pathway? Thanks
@EmergencyFocus
@EmergencyFocus Жыл бұрын
Saudi Board of Internal Medicine needs to be checked with Royal Australiasian College of Physicians (RACP) here in Australia. In Aus most medicine areas are sub-specialised in medicine like acute medicine, cardio, gastro, geriatrics, Medical oncology, haematology, respiratory medicine etc so "Internal medicine" has to be looked as "Acute Medicine". RACP will look into your IM training to compare with "Acute medicine" training in Australia and exam components of Medical board of Internal medicine comparison to FRACP. They will also conduct an Interview with you. Application for specialist recognition is an expensive route and one must match as many similarities as possible bw home country and Australia to be either partially or fully recognised. In your example and with very brief information from comment section, I think there is limited chance of Internal medicine being recognised fully for acute medicine but maybe partially recognised with FRACP exam to be taken in Australia. Short term training (STT) pathway is an option but again needs to have a clear goal set for learning outcomes for acute medicine (stream / patient flow/ scope of practice in community vs hospital care) over how long(12/24 or 36 months) . STT pathway does NOT merger later with specialist pathway.

Thanks a lot for your reply If it’s partially recognized what is the process after that ?e.g they will give assessment period? Regarding the short term training I thought about it as I want to have sub speciality in endocrinology and later I can register as a consultant in the Middle East at least.
