Doctor Mike

Four months into quarantine and I’ve been watching a LOT of medical shows. Most of them have actually done an episode surrounding how their hospital handles a viral outbreak. Today I’m diving into Scrubs Season 4 Episode 16, appropriately titled “My Quarantine”, to see how JD and the team handle a rumored outbreak of SARS.
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

Not terribly long ago there was an article about cabin crew asking for a dr on a flight. One passenger stood up, she is an OB/GYN (from Houston? Can't recall the departure/arrival of the flight) and a black woman. They told her that they needed an actual dr, then there was something about her providing ID proving she's a dr. Then when a white guy offers his service (he works in the medical field but is NOT an MD) the crew never asked for proof from him, and he's who the crew chose to assist the passenger.

That is so amazing to hear about your chief of medicine. Having worked in the medical field there are a lot of egos out there and sometimes docs can get too big from the britches as much dad would say. I respect all doctors for what they do without them our healthcare system would collapse but, there are docs out there who let it go to their head and it can really be off putting for patients. When docs are humble and don’t just give orders to the people below them allows patients to connect with their docs and be more receptive to treatment plans. I’m so glad he is teaching doctors which is even better because he is helping create more docs like him which is what we need. Love you Dr. Mike! Please connect with Jessica Kent and/or Christina Randle to discuss medical care in the prison system, I would love to see your take on it, especially for pregnant women and how they are treated throughout their pregnancy and delivery.

So it’s not like people take these seriously...I hope. Wired also has a series that does the same too, where professionals react to scenes about their professions. Love the ones with the trauma surgeon..Annie? I think?. I may have an addiction to professional react videos🥴....and reddit text to speech videos for some reason. That last part was unrelated.

It would still be a little odd as the show is set in the US. He asked the patient if he had been to Hong Kong, where there was a lot of SARS, but never waited for the answer. That guest dermatologist interests me. How about a video with a guest physiotherapist too? Or a plastic surgeon who helps people rebuild noses etc after they gave been in armed conflict? Or a cosmetic plastic surgeon? All would lead to some interesting discussions and interviews :)

Aww! The way you speak of your mentor is so sweet, yand I can tell he’s an amazing physician just like yourself Also, I love the face cake part lol.. I do or ask stuff like that and then if people are around, they’ll say something like, “I thought you were smart?” 😂

Unrelated: Doctor Mike said he would dye his hair blonde if a video from some time ago got 250k likes. (And yes, I did comment this on his previous video, but I want to see if he will respond.)

Seriously, Dr. Mike is like a combination of extremely handsome, and down right adorable. I also learn a lot from his video. He's a real pleasure to watch. 😊
