Think about how different our medical system would be if all doctors were required to have an extreme health crisis before practicing medicine. It’s through those toughest times with our own health that many of us turn to Functional Medicine, as we realize conventional care isn’t getting us what we need. But sometimes, being so involved in treating others’ diseases makes it difficult for doctors to even see our own symptoms for what they really are. This week’s guest on The Doctor’s Farmacy, Dr. Cynthia Li, is here to share her personal journey through autoimmunity and realizing her symptoms had deeper meaning.
Dr. Li received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She’s practiced as an internist in many settings, including Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, San Francisco General Hospital, and St. Anthony Medical Clinic serving the homeless. She currently has a private practice in Berkeley, CA and recently published her first book which I highly recommend, Brave New Medicine: A Doctor's Unconventional Path to Healing Her Autoimmune Illness.
This episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy is brought to you by Thrive Market and by SomniFix.
Thrive Market has made it so easy for me to stay healthy, even with my intense travel schedule. I never let myself get into a food emergency. Instead, I always carry enough food with me when I’m on the go, for at least a full day. I order real, whole foods online from Thrive Market. Right now, Thrive is offering all Doctor’s Farmacy listeners a great deal: you will receive an extra 25% off your first purchase plus a free 30-day membership to Thrive. There’s no minimum amount to buy and no code at checkout. All you have to do is head over to thrivemarket.com/farmacy
Most of us aren’t getting our best rest. But there is actually a proven solution I’ve found for getting high-quality rest, simply by helping you breathe through your nose instead of your mouth. They’re called SomniFix Strips. Breathing through your nose has so many benefits-it protects against mouth dryness and nasal congestion, boosts oxygen saturation for enhanced focus, and helps naturally produce nitric oxide that kills bacteria and supports immunity. SomniFix is now offering all Doctor’s Farmacy listeners 15% off of your first order. Just go to somnifix.com, and use the code FARMACY at checkout.

okay to save time, she tried to get more sleep, changed her diet by studying her ancestral diet, which led her to cut out most gluten, and that made a major impact. she did detoxes which removed toxins from air pollution, . she slowly weaned off thyroid meds over 14 years, and she studied her estrogen and progesterone levels , then slowly weaned off those hormone replacement drugs as the sleep and diet improvements made a positive impact. also she had a witchdoctor or some clairvoyant come into her house to burn smudge sticks of Southwestern US Native Indian sage and herbs around her home to rid the house of negative energy from the previous home owner. she didnt see that one coming,. she didnt in believe any of it but it opened her mind to think positively and to work on a positive healthy mindset. went to some functional medicine conferences and gradually over a decade , everything worked out and healed her.

Bottom line: YOU DON'T NEED MEDICINE :) Medicine is like a band aid to help you relieve the pain temporary without fixing the root cause. If you take your time and do your research, you will find the cure from the nature. I’m an acupuncturist with a background as a histotechnologist. I am so grateful for this combination that has helped me see health issues in the the eyes of western medicine and how it correlates to disease patterns in traditional Chinese medicine. I love the power of herbal medicine. We treat the whole person, not a named disease. Diseases must be treated on all levels: physical body (electrical, structural), chemical (nutritional, microbiome) and spiritual/emotional. If one area is affected eventually all areas are affected.

Increase to 60 minutes when possible. - Do elimination diet and find out what works for you. - Take digestive enzymes. - Meditate at least 10 minutes a day - Take cold showers - Weekly shock the system by alternating heat and cold. Example: 10 minutes of sauna, 10 minute of cold by jumping in a swimming pool, alternating between the sauna and pool for 1 hour. - Find your purpose - Love and accept others for who they are and the path they are on and the fact that it is different than your path. - Journal - Love yourself - Forgive yourself and forgive all others - Follow your intuition These were not mentioned here but I felt the need to put this.

I am 67 and was insulted so many times by regular medicine. I found out I had autoimmune disease by my own research and 30 years down the road I have a great functional doctor. I rely on intuition all the time, my “gut feeling”. I use my community for local organic food and have a garden. I process my own flour, nut milks and on and on. I still have bouts where my body is attacked with debilitating symptoms but I believe it is from the vaccines I had to take to be in the medical field. Being awake to the times gives you great insight and knowing companies have poisoned us for years. Good food, sleep, exercise, supplements, digestive enzymes, no stress and faith in God is a good start to recovery. Our world is changing and we need to open our eyes to the possibilities set before us. I woke up years ago and believe we have knowledge that will be revealed to us soon.

Let food be your medicine! Do yourself a big favor and read up on medicinal mushrooms and first milking colostrum. They help immensely to heal and regenerate your entire body and all it's organs if taken on a daily basis in sufficient, therapeutic amounts. I've been on these for years and they have worked wonders for me. Do your best to avoid all forms of corn and corn starch, soy, wheat, vegetable oil (corn, safflower, canola, soybean, sunflower, etc.), red meat/dairy (except for grass fed) and of course refined sugar/junk/fast food. It's all about prevention of disease rather than treating or masking symptoms with modern drugs. Best of luck and health to you.

@@victoriaaustin2468 I healed myself of a severe asthmatic histamine intolerance/auto-immune disorder in *_5 months_* and lost 26 lbs in the process by adopting a fasting lifestyle with very clean food when I did eat. I intermittent fasted 23:1 80% of the time, 16:8 20% of the time and in those 5 months did four 3-day fasts (one was 98 hours, actually) that aren't included in those percentages. When I did eat I ate organic, non-GMO, you know the drill...no added sugar, etc. _5 months_ is UNHEARD OF. Get Dr. Mindy Pelz's book, "Fast Like a Girl" and beat this without weight gain. After watching this I think there are people out there, on the extreme, who plan to die early just to be able to retire early. To each their own but to me, retirement isn't just about not having to work, it's about having the freedom to do whatever you might reasonably want, such as travel, buying things, enjoying life, etc. I don't think I could retire with less than $3m in income-generating investments, maybe $2m at the very minimum. We are difficult patients, or lots of us are. The problem is that the doctors are the reason we become difficult patients. When doctors contradict each other and say things that are completely incoherant or irrelevant we can do nothing other than say "hang on doctor that doesn't make sense". They are incapable of accepting the validity of our remarks and they don't like us questioning their opinion. For many of us our lives are falling appart around us and doctors refusing facts because they don't understand them is very frustrating. Our frustration is legitimate and doctors should take this into consideration and not presume that the frustration is just because we are weak minded hense all are problems are psychological. When you've seen enough docrors who are all too happy to accept that it's all in your head your friends and familly find it very difficult to not believe them. After all they are doctors and they are supposed to know what is going on. It most certainly is tragic, and i hope you find the answers that you are in so much need of.

Eating a more healthy diet reduces the crap intake and helps the body cope better with what we are breathig. It's not rocket science. This is my story. After more than 15 years of trying to figure out what was wrong with my body, I ended up with a Psychiatrist telling me that I had Clinical Depression. I explained to him that if I had Clinical Depression why do I still have goals? People with depression lose hope. That was not me. I just wanted my body to help me achieve, and my body was tired and in pain, so that was frustrating me. I explained that my body is making me get frustrated, and that leads to depression. He wouldn't listen to me. A couple of times he even dozed off in front of me...like sorry for boring you sir. He waived me off and just handed me the slip for the next appointment. I have found my own remedies, and today, I own my own wellness clinic specializing in massage. I see many people who are this same position, and I am happy to fast track them to wellness. Now, I refer patients to functional medical doctors who they can go to to get real answers.

I'm 63 and avoid doctors, nearly all of whom have failed to help me, and in one case badly scared me with a false diagnosis. What I have learned from self-experimentation is that "less is more," meaning less food, less often. I'm not interested in weight loss, merely feeling optimal, and fasting gives the body time to heal, followed by a healthy diet of real foods. Aside from posting this, I don't discuss my health regimen, as it provokes a lot of unwanted advice and even worry. Do your own research, so much easier these days, thanks to videos such as this one and many more. Best wishes to all for a healthy 2020 and beyond.

I wanted to briefly share how I got my Hashimoto's thyroiditis in remission. 3 years ago I got a infection in pancreas which cause me to be nauseous so I didn't eat for 9 days (basically fasting, however definitely not planned) but tried to keep up my fluid intake. It just happened that when I recovered I needed to have my labs drawn and my doctor was so surprised because my labs reflected 90% remission of Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Asked all kinds of questions and once found out I hadn't eaten for 9 days, only had fluids asked if would wait 6 months and do another long fast (5-9 days) and see if we would get it in complete remission. That is exactly what happened after the second fast and now 3 years later, I am still in remission from Hashimoto's thyroiditis. :)

Sometimes the T3 T4 was out of balance and sometimes spot on. Antibodies were for Hashimoto was always high until I did the 9 day fast and by the 2nd time (6 month later) no more. I had my immune system chinking away at my thyroid for 35 years, so it will take some time to have it recover/regenerate and we are working on that. After the fast, to break the fast (especially since this was a longer fast) I would break it with bone broth and after an hour or so, depending on how I felt, I would have half of an avocado and wait and see how my gut was doing and slowly introduce different food again. Also before the bone broth I would take ion biome on empty stomach to restore gut balance. Dr. Mindy Pelz is a wealth of information on fasting, especially for women (find her on youtube)

I commented in more detail on the thread below regarding the summary of the interview, but overall I'd say, this interview was worth it and think every PCP and medical student should watch it. She clearly expressed what every single person who's suffered from any type of chronic pain and gone through the usual channels in our "healthcare" system feels when no answers are found and every specialist sees you with a narrowed lens and no answers mean it's in your head type of thing

I was diagnosed with lupus at 25 yrs. I always rebelled against the high dose, toxic drugs the doctors wanted to put me on. I only took the bare minimum and ate well, got lots of rest and have remained as stress free as possible and I'm still alive 30 yrs later and I'm not a big toxic, bloated mess. Conventional medicine is almost worthless for autoimmune illness in my opinion.

From my experience: if you have a chronic condition, read as much as possible about it in legitimate scientifically validated sites. Observe your symptoms and keep a notebooks and record everything you do, eat and frequency of your symptoms. NO doctor however skilled can replace your observations. However for urgent need go to UC or ER. Above all follow a healthy lifestyle including proper diet, exercise, meditation and take things easy. After all we are all rushing towards death- so what’s the hurry? Why waste your hard earned money on a ignorant doctors and a shockingly crappy health care system?

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for sharing your journeys with us. ❤ To simply get validated is a gift in itself! I've been through some very LOW lows with a multitude of symptoms that isolated me in my house, exhausted and confused. I feel I'm now in the phase of DETOX while being on a whole food, organic where possible, dairy free, gluten free diet, eating all my food within an 8-hr period. I wish i knew what was in Dr. Hyman's "gut shake," but I think i can guess from the things he shared. My cupboards are nearly bare! I used to think that was a sign of poverty. Now i see it as a sign of knowing its best to get things as fresh as possible from the store rather than keeping preservative-laden things on the shelf. I now don't buy anything with a long list of ingredients. And nothing with "added sugars." The one thing i didn't hear about was the use of epsom salt baths to help with detox. I've found them to be soothing. I wish they'd discussed about how to get rid of heavy metals or where to go to get tested for that. In any case, I wish you all much good health very soon!!! ❤

@@livenow1788 That is an understatement. I would look at it upside down, there are few fields where conventional medicine is effective and those are not diseases but trauma and wounds or broken bones and the invention of antibiotics, antifungal and antivirus. 95% of conventional medecine is treating symptoms, knocking down the patient with drugs (opiates) or cutting a part of the body. That sums it up.

My doctor let me use the natural route for a crippling autoimmune disease. She was wonderful. She said she took an oath so if she saw things getting really bad she would have to give me meds as per her oath but it’s my choice to take them or not. As she saw me getting better and better she started learning natural medicine. She was wonderful, supportive and life changing in my healing. I’ve got a great doctor ❤️. The doctor prior to her, when I was noticing little symptoms here and there but didn’t know it was autoimmune, she told me “you’re young, you’re thin, you’re fine. It’s all in your mind”. Meanwhile my body was attacking itself hour by hour.

Yesss!!!!!! Absolutely yes!!! You are correct and your doctor is a doctor and not a parrot repeating what they have been teach since the beginning of their carrier. Mine are like that or I teach them Lol! Some of them are listening carefully now about other ways to do. One of them saved his legs by just receiving a lymphatic drainage! After 17 days hospitalized and receiving the strongest antibiotics ever, he did not improved. I recommend the drainage because it was clear that his system was clogged and was just transporting garbage up and down all day long without having the capacity to clear itself and the body from harming crap. And of course, could not transport the antibiotic to the needed places. He did and a little later he was running like a kid and he is big man! How could he forgot what lymphatic system is about? Well they know what it is but do not know how to holistically work with it. Same with the rest of the body- mind - spirit.

I have an autoimmune condition, symptoms of lupus. Lichen Planus, heart, liver, kidnney and spleen pain. I gave up trying to be heard by the doctors, so I started researching. And that made them angry, my doctor's office sent me a letter telling me I couldn't see my doctor any more because I had asked them to stop sending me to specialists. The ones I had seen had given me drugs without telling me they planned to, and were treating me with disrespect. There was a kidney doctor who yelled at me for not wanting radioactive iodine. I had been having thyroid symptoms and my mother has hashimotos. I said I didn't want contrast. And this woman treated me like I was being a difficult 4 year old. She was the last straw. This story with Cynthia Li is MY story too! Becoming violently ill in Mexico while on honeymoon - and I was "never the same since." Later finding out I had chronic Lyme, Endometriosis, Hashimotos Thyroiditis, Celiac Disease, PCOS....and so on after seeing a string of specialists. It was finally a homeopathic doctor that was able to educate me of the cascade effect of the food I was eating and stressful lifestyle I was living (Lean Cuisine was a "healty meal" and running 8-10 miles per day on the treadmill followed by an hour of heavy weight lifting FOR YEARS). I thought I was "so on top of things" and boy was I wrong. After years of coming to terms with my food sensitivities and hormone imbalances, I'm finally starting to recover. After gaining 85 pounds due to exercise intolerance and overall fatigue (and depression) I'm about 75% back to a healthy body. Food is medicine, and so is rest, self care, setting boundaries, finding peace and silence within. Thank you for spreading this message and for helping bring awareness to this very real, very debilitating issue that affects so many.

When people are needing to see up to six doctors for what should be a simple diagnosis and effective treatment you know something is wrong.

Three ophthalmologists and two doctors and not one could figure out i had dermetitis. Even after i went to my primary care doctor and told him i think i have an allergic reaction he dismissed it. Walked myself into an allergist... well i am allergic to neomycin 2nd most common allergy in dermatitis. Seriously? I had to diagnosed myself? Had a cough for two months was told to take a cough drop. Again walk myself to a pulmonologist had bronchitis triggered by allergic reactions. The amount of contaminants and carcinogens are too much for living beings to take and our autoimmune systems are under too much stress. Most doctors are a huge disappointment. Fibromyalgia, Raynauds, Interstitial cystitis are all syndromes .. tell someone their pain isn't real. An women get treated differently too.. We are depressed or hysterical and once we reach 45 we are Perimenopause then Menapouse they have an answer to everything for us but the real one.

One very important point the doctor made here was the spiritual/emotional awareness and healing. In my personal experience, emotional baggage tends to get stored in the body and eventually manifests as physical symptoms. Being in touch with your emotions, healing trauma through writing, praying, meditation, forgiveness of self and others is paramount. Finally, l agree with the anti inflammatory/detox/clean diet are important in healing and prevention. But l would also add fasting as an important ingredient in staying healthy. I highly recommend it to all my patients as a means to lose wait and heal/prevent chronic disease and cancer.

I had a dozen doctors look at me for 3 years, and eventually concluded that my symptoms (head-to-toe nerve issues) were psychosomatic. Therapy did and is continuing to help, but there's so much more to the story. I was basically abandoned after they decided everything was "in my head." Over the past couple years I've been strengthening my body, eating dofferently, sleeping properly, and prioritizing self care. I've been learning about trauma and how it affects the vagus nerve, about histamine intolerance, and about leaky gut -- and I'm slowly fixing myself. Didn't even have to go to med school. 😂 Looking into thyroid health now, thanks! 💕✌️

It wasn't until I went to Dr. Jacob Titelbaum in Maryland (I'm from Montana) and he educated me in so many supplements and told me when I return home find a good naturopath (I found the best) because no regular doctor will have a clue what you're going through. He finally allowed me to have Armour thyroid which cleared me out of a fog. He made sure I was up on D3/K2. He got my iron up to speed. It's been a lifelong journey. But I know when to go to an allopath (and very rarely go) vs. a naturopath. This was very interesting.

I wonder if I will ever encounter a physician who says this to me? They know I am an academic, clinical, and research psychologist with 20 plus years experience, they wouldn't dare! I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism due to low TSH levels. The diagnosis is always confirmed in lab work, not just symptoms in traditional medicine. This is for insurance coding and billing purposes. We have the same paradigm in clinical psychological practice. Am on thyroid meds. I think this started with a meal in a Houston Chinese restaurant in the late 1980s. Dont remember what I ate. I was 40, dizzy, so dizzy I was throwing up. After a month, I had a MRI to check for brain tumor. I have have had balance issues ever since 30 yrs. FInally after four mos wearing scopalomine patches my vertigo eased up. I had had chicken pox in my childhood. Later in my 60s, Shingles appeared, treating with aycyclovir. I had dental issues took two courses of antibiotics killed all my gold gut bacteria, got systemic candida. Treating that with Fluconazol. Some functional medicine pratitioners have studied thousands of medical studies and found that three common factors were in most thyroid patients a viral infection, followed later, sometimes years later by vertigo, tiredness etc.,. Then high stress becomes a trigger. Finally gluten and sometimes dairy sensitivity. That fits my path. I am certain I have had chronic low level hypothyroidism. The causes were multiple. THe management is multiple.....I have inflammation of nerves with numb feet, cold hands and feet, muscle tiredness and weakness, it is believed the cerebellum in the lower back of the brain is inflammed infectiong balance etc. I have periodic brain fog...my intellect when not exhausted and inflammed, is not affected, not my long term memory. My short term memory IS affected when I am inflammed but not,when I am not inflamed. I am not depressed , I was mystified and curious, not,happy about symptoms but otherwise happy in my life. I know everything has a cause. I was eating a very healthy high plant medium protein diet, low sugar, low gluten diet. Now I know that isnt enough for ME at THIS stage I must have NO sugar, substitutes, or gluten. SO this is a journey for me now my body needs more protein, red meats as I was anemic . More spinach, folic acid supplementation. Zero gluten. Zero sugar.

Adding 'grounding' daily with outdoor movement such as walking or mountain biking and letting in sunlight has also helped remarkably. I went through the same experience as Dr. Li. after the birth of my child , i got thyroid disease and it couldnt be diagnosed for many months in traditional medicine. It wasnt until my neck had protruded and swollen , and i started getting these heat attacks, that i was taken seriously. As is the trend here in Kenya, after delivery, one is put on birth control because it is claimed that when a woman is breast feeding, that is when she is most fertile. That worked against me and literally messed up my whole hormonal system. I am lucky to have finally diagnosed Graves Disease, but a close friend of mine died after she gave birth to her baby, because her hyperthyroidism could not be detected. I then founded the Thyroid Disease Awareness Kenya Foundation just to help people learn exactly what is being discussed here. We hope to demistify this myth and empower people to take charge of their own health, by arming them with the right information. So happy right now to hear these two traditional doctors accept the fact that traditional medicine and what they are taught is not always the truth. The body is a very complex combination of systems that so delicately depend on one another, and when one system is off, then the rest of the systems cannot work properly. The endocrine system is the most under emphasized system in the medical world, and yet the most important systems in the body. Like people here will tell you of the digestive system, the reproductive system, but the endocrine system is so foreign. We are working to demistify that.

Sleep, movements, rhythm, eating properly ( I thought I was before but I wasn’t doing enough) , and stress ..getting rid of toxic people around me . I was traveling for a many years & the the environmental effects , everything adds up. This was 10 years ago. Until today I’m still learning, food, sleep, our body & mind & getting rid of the rashes & joint aches all over my body. I am healing myself not by traditional medicine but what my grandparents did ...all back to basic & jump start my body . Traditional medicine is not for chronic diseases. Doctors can’t tell what sort of autoimmune diseases I got . Gluten..got rid of that devil 5 years now. Reading all food labels. Preparing all my meals & walking 30mins a day !

I really liked the way this discussion naturally evolved into expressing the wholistic approach to healing & balancing all the parts of the whole, including the dimension of energy - how it acknowledge the interconnectedness between everything within our own being aswell as our interconnection between our inner & outer environment too. 🙂

This is really great to see that doctors are speaking up. I wanted to mention that I learned that alot of cheese is processed with gluten and is not marked as containing gluten. I was in France trying to order a gluten free cheese dish and the chef came out to me and says that alot of these cheeses we produce are made with gluten - it's really made a difference for me to stick to the cheeses that are marked gluten-free.

When dairy is pastuerized, it completely changes the structure of it from beneficial to harmful. Raw dairy is healing to the body. Dr. Axe compared pastuerized milk to vegetable soy oil loaded with sugar, whereas; raw milk is fine.

Let food be your medicine! Read up on medicinal mushrooms and first milking colostrum. They help immensely to heal and regenerate the entire body and all it's organs if taken on a daily basis in sufficient, therapeutic amounts. Colostrum is especially important for anyone with a weakened or compromised immune system. Do your best to avoid all forms of corn and corn starch, soy, wheat, vegetable oil (corn, safflower, canola, soybean, sunflower, etc.), red meat/dairy (except for grass fed) and of course refined sugar and junk/fast food. It's all about prevention of disease rather than treating or masking symptoms with modern drugs. Best of luck and health to you.

@@tehnewsguy is sunflower oil bad? My daughter gave me some frozen colostrum. And frozen colostrum milk.. I'm hoping to whip them up into a Balm, (nipple cream/nappy rash) Perhaps different to what you are speaking about?
@tehnewsguy
@tehnewsguy 2 жыл бұрын
@@ralsharp6013 Yes, it's best to avoid the consumption of this oil or any food with sunflower oil due to the fact it is too high in polyunsaturated omega-6 fat and is highly refined and oxidized which greatly contributes to chronic inflammation plus the formation of damaging free radicals in the body. You are much better off eating a small amount of sunflower seed. Avocado, extra virgin olive & coconut oil are much safer and healthier. Grass-fed ghee/butter is also a healthy choice. As for colostrum, it can be taken either directly into the mouth with some water or mixed in food or beverage. It can also be used externally as a paste applied to the skin to heal a rash or minor cuts or wounds more quickly without scarring.

@tehnewsguy
@tehnewsguy 2 жыл бұрын
@@DarkAngel-cj6sx Yes, I'm currently taking chaga daily for overall health and disease prevention. More specifically, I'm taking two different mushroom products. One is a blend of five medicinal mushrooms (reishi, chaga, cordyceps, turkey tail, lion's mane) with cacao and coconut palm sugar and the other product is just ground chaga powder. They are both dual extraction and micronized to obtain the full benefits and for better/improved absorption. They are kind of expensive but it's much easier than purchasing the raw material and making my own from scratch at home. Besides the fact that I really like and enjoy chocolate so it's a win-win for me.

I'm going through this cycle of specialists, as well. Depression my ass. 20 years ago I was told I had anxiety (I knew I didn't have anxiety) and given a slew of benzos that I'm glad I never took. After 3 cardioversions and an ablation surgery I was cured of my SVTs! Not only could I have died from that misdiagnosis, but I could have become dependent on a highly addictive class of drugs, as well!

Part of my health regimen is to stay away from doctors except for emergency situations. Most illness is food related so it's important to remember exactly what you ate before illness occurs or what other aspects of the environment were concurrent with any kind of malaise or illness.

You are smart to stay away from doctors!! Prescription medications are toxic chemicals and only cause harm to the body. There are other natural forms of medicine. This Dr. Li went to an Doctor of Oriental Medicine, (acupuncture and herbal medicine) and that is how she got healed! I am a DOM and I have helped thousands recover their health from the damaging effects of toxic vaccines, prescription drugs, etc. I myself have SUFFERED GREATLY from all the mandatory toxic vaccines, required as a medical professional (California State Law!!!) that nearly killed me! and left me paralyzed!!! And caused leaky gut, autoimmune disorders, inflammation, countless allergies, severely weakened immune system, totally destroyed a kidney, etc., etc. But, I have recovered!! I became a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and I recovered my health and I saved my life!!

@@larslee1001 Thank you for responding to my comment. I completely understand how difficult it would be to be forced to be vaccinated. I studied vaccinations and have concluded that in most cases they do more harm than good, and their efficacy and safety have not been tested with double blind, placebo based tests. In fact, vaccine manufacturers claim efficacy based only on whether their products produce antibodies in the human body. In effect this is fake science because the real life existence of antibodies is not a reliable indicator of whether a subject will be protected from a flu virus. I consider myself to be extremely healthy and have no medical issues of any kind but I have extreme intolerances to many substances, so I am very careful about my diet. Congratulations on resolving your very serious medical problems.
