Hey i'm South African too. I'm not sure if this helps but my products have been working fo me and I order them from takealot. Serum set for retinol serum, hyloraunic acid and vitamin c serum. Eucerin sunscreen and the ordinary glycolic acid. It's mostly about how you use them and how your skin responds but yeah

I am 46yo with mature and acne prone skin and using Cera-Ve SA cleanser once a day and adapelene gel 0.1% at night (5-6 nights a week) I want to introduce chemical exfoliation on the night I am not using adapelene and confused if I should introduce Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 25% AHA + 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel or use PCA SKIN HQ-Free Pigment Gel 3 days a week? Dr.V, really appreciate the information you give out. I am 45 and I usually have clear skin. Past 4 months I have had really bad breakout. My PCP prescribed Tretinoin at night. Now o am left with brown and red marks for the first time in my life😢. I use BP in the morning. My question for you is that I keep getting one pimple here and there every now and then. It’s been one month I am using tretinoin and my peeling and purging is done. When you say one should not use tretinoin while there is breakout, how do I manage this situation? Not sure if I am getting pimples because of tretinoin or some other reason. TIA

Hi Dr.V, as you always keep saying tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (THDA) best for SOC but it's very hard to find a product with THDA in India. I actually came across an ingredient similar to THDA is ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate (ATIP). Is ATIP is good for SOC and surprisingly we have a product in India with ATIP, Re'equil C20 VCIP SERUM. Is this serum good for SOC?
