Good doctors would tell you the thing they prioritizes the most are morals: they could tell you the best solution for you is to cut your leg, but if that is not what you want they would try their best to give another solution based on your feelings using facts and logic or try to convince you to cut your leg. Like Dr. House said: "You rather have a doctor that ignores you while you get better or a doctor that takes your hand while you are dying?" That is the most pragmatic view of medicine and if a doctor loses a patient of course would drain his emotions too. They seem distant, but they also have feelings to be considered.

But if you take the word "trans" out of that sentence, the only thing that changes is the amount of young people. There are many forms and causes of depression, which is a huge contributor to someone who wants to harm themselves and/or take their own life. If a person suffers from depression, they are usually prescribed medicine to help them cope with the chemical imbalance in their brain. Trans or not, if you're depressed, you're depressed. These "trans" people are not getting the help they need. They are in a dark and fragile state of mind and the last thing any of them need is a doctor who enables this mind frame and agrees that gender re-assignment is the answer above all else. Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder and should be treated as such. Hormone Replacement Therapy and genital mutilation is not the answer.

I know someone who transitioned from female to make in it's ruined her life completely. She absolutely regrets it and feels she shouldn't have been encouraged by the medical profession to transition .She has become a recluse. This is an extremely dangerous ideology.
