Just a correction; Movellans (the ones fighting the Daleks in that sequence) opposed the Daleks (being robotic life forms themselves) and were featured in Destiny of the Daleks with Tom Baker. The Cybermen are CLASSIC Mondassian Cybermen from the 60's. Other than that...well....that's for you to find out...

It's lovely to see my 'first ever reactors' returning :) I really enjoy the banter between the two of you - the only problem with that, though,is that you missed some of the dialogue; particularly Bills description of the 12th Doctor when he runs..."You look like a penguin with its arse on fire" :D (btw,the Classic reference with the Daleks was the 4th Doctor story 'Destiny of the Daleks'.The people they were fighting were the Movellans)

The White Dreadlocked aliens were indeed a classic Who reference. They are the Movellans, last seen during the 4th Doctor Story "Destiny of the Daleks" where they had fought the Daleks to a stalemate forcing them to seek out their creator Davros for the first time since they abandoned him in Genesis of the Daleks. (The Movellans are an Android race and so are similar in mindset to the Daleks in terms of strategy.) - Also remember when they landed in that period the Doctor said that they'd gone back in time.

Fun Fact: Moffat decided to name the new companion as a tribute to William Hartnell. And for this "Pilot" episode, the love interest Heather is named after Hartnell's wife. I agree with some others on here: you should react to some classic Doctor Who (though the episodes for each of the stories can number between 2 and 10). It is a classic Dr. Who reference. They're the Movellans who were another villainous race of machine creatures (only one appearance before now) from Destiny Of The Daleks, the classic series' 17th season opener. There was a dialogue reference to them as well from Resurrection Of The Daleks when they almost wiped out all the Daleks with a Dalek-killing virus. If you want to see that one, be warned that the death effects of Daleks and humans were rather gruesome and even received some of the classic Dr. Who's worst complaints about its violent content.
