I would also like to see a day in your life AT WORK for a busy doctor.....From getting up, leaving the house, your routine at work, coming home & then bedtime....typical hours getting up & going to sleep....This video appeared to be a nice day off for you which was great but a regular work day would be very interesting. Thanks for all of your great work helping us making our lives better!

About 13 years ago, I had such back depression and anxiety, that I left my stressful job and checked myself into the mental ward at the hospital. There (and after I got out, going to an out patient program) I learned many coping skills and one was meditation. It helped (and still does) so much. I love the sled!!! I really like using it

I do 20 hours of fasting and break my fast around 4pm with boiled eggs and soaked almonds. After 45 minutes, I eat millets/oats with a chicken/lentils/vegetables gravy, followed by yogurt and fruits. Finally, I end my fasting by 8pm with a meal that includes a wheat flour flat bread accompanied by a vegetable/chicken gravy. During my 20 hours of fasting, I do 30 minutes of jogging/walking in the morning and drink lots of water, including one green tea and sometimes black coffee as well. I also do 7-minute workouts 2-3 times during my work hours.

I've been low carb for 3.5 years. During that period I've eaten zero fast food, zero grain/flour, zero processed food, and very little sugar - just a few berries. I avoid omega 6s and thus all seed oils. I eat only between 4pm and 8pm. Thx for what you do doc. Was particularly glad to see you unload on statins.

Good video. My eating schedule is between 4-8 pm five days a week and 12-8 two days. I always work out fasted. The first few days/weeks of that is tough but your body adapts quickly thereafter. I compete in Masters Track & Field and even compete fasted in morning meets. Not sure how it works for others, but I have a sharper mind while fasting. By eating mostly keto and practicing IF, I've lost 50 lbs and gotten stronger simultaneously.

Yes, I’d love to see more of “day in the life” content, to see how the rest of your life works around intermittent fasting and exercise. I’ve been doing intermittent fasting - mostly 16/8 but sometimes 18/6 - and your power smoothies, but I have some questions: 1) I don’t much care for coconut milk all the time, is there any disadvantage to plain oatmilk (no sugar added) 2) Are supplements ok? As a vegetarian and 68yr old, I am aware that B12 deficiency can be a challenge. Also, I straddle the osteo-penia/porosis metric and want to be sure I am getting enough calcium and D3. 3) When do you work, lol? 4) When you go out with family or friends for special occasions, any guidance? (I know IF allows for flexibility, just wondering about your take on these occasions.) Love your videos, thank you for all the time and work you put into them! Wishing you a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season!

Hey 👋 I just got up, going to have a glass of water and then coffee too lol I am going to eat once today. I like to eat around 2 latest 3pm. Gives my body all that time in between to rest. It’s definitely good for the gut to not constantly eat. I don’t always do this, but I probably should. Thanks for the video’s

I started doing IF about a year ago and really love working out in a fasted state. Weird, but works for me. I used to try to do the workouts earlier in my fast, and now I find myself deliberately hitting the gym just before my eating window. Lunch looked delish - we don't have anything like a whole food, so I do a bunch of meal prep. Chia pudding topped with seeds, some yoghurt and berries is a nice treat and is easy to keep in the fridge.

I have 2 kids and a partner. I will spend time with them when they are eating but I cook different foods for them than I make for myself and I only eat alone. Often I will make big batches of diversified food and then I’ll just eat the leftovers each day. For example I’ll make a big thing of quinoa, lentils, and beans with a bunch of spicy sauces, put a measured portion for each day, and then just heat them up when I get hungry. It is absolutely possible to do it but you just have to be willing to eat things other than what your kids want to eat. I wish they wanted to eat only unprocessed foods but realistically they are going to want some Mac and cheese and chicken tenders to go with the broccoli and carrots. It’s much easier to make yourself eat exclusively healthy foods than it is to make others do it too. I always make them eat some veggies before the processed stuff but I know the best thing I can do is model eating healthy and not expect them to do everything I do.

I understand this. I was in the same boat when finally I had to get really firm with them and say stop offering me junk. I had to make it clear to them that I care about what I eat. It took s while bit they finally get it now. And they still bring junk into the house but the they don’t offer it to me anymore and I’m not drawn to it. Good luck!

Well, well. You are doing a very similar day's program to what I do. My weight has reduced from 190 lbs. to 174 lbs. in 5 weeks. Interesting to see how it came down with irregular intervals doing the same day in and day out. I would be interested to know what internal changes are happening to my body and how long a time before they take effect. I am probably within 6lbs. of a good weight for my 5ft. 11 ins. height. Brought a smile to my face when I realised our programs are so similar although I do a daily 6 mile walk and exercise at home. I am retired. Cheers.

Hi Dr. Hansen. I've been intermittent fasting and doing a loose keto diet for the past couple of months and it is really working wonders for me! I was 320lbs when I started in early December and this morning, February 17, I weighed in at 274lbs! I feel 20 years younger! I never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait to see the doctor. I'm going to ask for a fasting insulin test with my standard blood work this time (not sure if that was included in the past or not). I am pushing 60yo and have back issues so I'm not really aggressive with the exercise, but I do what I can. I'm really looking forward to Spring when I can start biking again. If you read this, I have a question. What are your thoughts on lectins? Perhaps this would be a good topic for a video if you haven't done one already. Thanks for all you do and for helping to keep us informed all through the pandemic and beyond!

When I'm well adjusted to my fasting routine, working out in a fasted state is no problem, and can be even better when I'm deeply keto-adjusted This take me around 2-3 months of intermittent fasting with occasional 40 hour fasts to attain. I usually worked out early morning which was at about hour 15 of my 20/4 fasting routine. A workout was either about an hour of weights or a fairly intense 90-120 minutes of standup paddle boarding.

Large salad at 3pm with maybe a can of hot spicy sardines on top , check the stk market again, then a couple beers while making the last meal to be done eating by 8pm. After 7 yrs I have great blood work and blood pressure that has come waay down since I started getting healthy.

20/4 or 18/6 fasting everyday, OMAD or max 2 meals. Mostly egg, fish, nuts, avokado, vegetable, oliven olie, some coconut milk, Max 25 gram carbonhydrat per dag, only 15 gram of it from suger, primary derive from fresh fruit and 70%+ dark chokolade. Was thinking it's impossible to be done longterm. After cut off carbonhydrat to the absolution minimum, both my weight and health improve a lots, doesn't feel hungry at all, and my energy level is stable all day. Doing HIIT occasionally, long walk 10000 steps everyday for me is more then enough. Guess I am doing other call KETO diet, but for me it's not a diet, it's a permanent lifestyle change. Health improvement over time are far outweighs just simple weight reduction. Small downside with low carb diet is it deplete some minerals and calcium faster, so I take some good quality vitamine supplements and eat plenty good vegetable to balance it out. Cut down carb and cheap processed vegetable olie, and replace it with quality nutrient dense food with plenty fiber. The issue is what is being told as healthy for last decades is mostly wrong, even many doctors don't know what healthy diet is, and general public are still eating junk food that label as healthy. And food industry and lobby hiding the real fact and research, that suger and processed vegetable olie killing people slowly by weaken their body and create chronicle disease that is hard to cure with medicin. Bad food -> more chronicle disease -> more medicin, none of them is good for the body for people in any age. If someone doesn't die from those illness, the toxicity of medicin over the years will finish the job.

Basically 16/8, but often the 16 grows when you're busy. Exercise while fasting although not as intense as what you are doing there )I'm older than you). Eggs. Smoothies. Some relatively healthy meat. Less and less processed stuff. I do like cakes and desserts but mostly make them at home with decent ingredients. Meditation in the morning. You could mention sleep too. Afternoon nap essential. I hope you get a social life too.

What if you're a 6 foot and 140 pound ectomorph ? In 2020 I started eating healthy and cut out most carbs because I found out that I was pre-diabetic. I even tried intermittent fasting. I loss so much weight, that now I look like a walking, talking stick, 😆. My ribs are showing, and the bone below my neck is showing. At 140 pounds, I look weak and emaciated. I still workout, but it's still not enough without more calories and carbs, which is frustrating . I really want to go up in weight to about 175-180, but it seems impossible with this type of diet. Its tough being a ectomorph, but with pre-diabetes its even worse. What can I do to to fix this issue?

The problem I have is I often do not have an appetite and I actually get sick at the smell of supper cooking. Even though I am 69, it really has nothing to do with age. I have been this way all my life. Fasting was never a problem - being forced to eat suppers I hated was the problem. So I wouldn’t eat ( I’d play with my food ) and dessert was not much better - tapioca, rice pudding, bread pudding. So I and one if my brothers were painfully thin. I am trying this new diet with no sugar, healthy eating and fasting for 18 hours. I have lost 4 pounds that I don’t need to lose. I can’t eat supper, the smell makes me sick. Stuck at what to do. I worked hard to get to 130 lbs and don’t want to lose it. I am stumped as to what to eat besides nothing.

Muscles require fuel to use. If you are fasted or nothing in the stomach, the body goes for the fat stores for energy only after the stored energy in the liver is used up, that's when you feel shaky and light headed. If you drink water, get yourselfa Zerowater filtration pitcher. Had two Waterdrop pitchers, but the Zerowater will filter EVERYTHING out except water, with zero contaminants or elements.

Does anyone have an answer for me here. If I’m looking to lose weight, will weight training and exercise bike while fasting cause my body to burn fat? My goal isn’t gains necessarily, it’s to lose weight with muscle building being secondary. My thinking is that when I do my half hour per day that if I’m fasting when I do it, during recovery while fasting that my body won’t have carbs stored so it’ll use my fat for fuel. At the end of the day I’m then going for extremely low carbs and calories. Yesterday was my first day of fasting. I did 24 hours with my exercises coming in at around the 12 hour mark and when 24 hours was up I ate a 400 calories chicken salad and a 600 calories chicken wrap which I only ate half of to try and keep my calories intake lower. I also had 2 25g protein yogurts and a banana for the potassium. There’s so much contradictory information online with every outlet giving this “new information” like lift a lot but don’t lift a lot, lift heavy but keep the weight low and I’m like dude, just tell me how to do it ffs lol

Okay...my question is how does someone go about fasting if they're involved in MMA 6x days a week?
