Looks great! Rustoleum Ultra BBQ grill paint works really well on turbo hotside parts and has an almost satin finish. Doesn't flake or peel. Stops the rust anyway.

These bikes are plenty fun n/a as well. I had a 2001 m2 cyclone I picked up cheap last year and 1st 3 gears it would power wheelie without a turbo lol. Had an hsr42 jetted, Buell race air cleaner and supertrapp exhaust. Previous owner didn't have history before his ownership but it did feel like the engine couldve had some internal work done with how hard it pulled. Worst part was my knee hitting the air cleaner so took some getting used to. Ended up selling and miss it.

@DoctorMotorcycle8 ай бұрын
I could build you a setup around the $3,500 mark installed if I had the bike. Hit me up through my website if you want more info. An XB would be at around 125-130whp on 9psi of boost and 110-115ft/lbs. XB's are shorter than these so it would be a wheelie machine lol

Back in 2007 I was torn between buying a Buell Ulysses or what late became my still current motorcycle, the Guzzi 1200 Sport. I'm sure the Ulysses would have made me happy as well.

Great build! looks like fun now! Was there any interior mods on the intake "can" or was it just open inside?
@DoctorMotorcycle8 ай бұрын
Depends on the goals of the build, sometimes yes sometimes no. Seat of the pants velocity stacks only make a minor difference, on the dyno it'd probably be worth 4-5hp. This one no.

im confused as to how this works, the carb sends fuel into the cyclone thing before the cylinder?
@NBSV17 ай бұрын
Yes. The turbo is drawing through the carb. Makes it simpler, but sometimes the compressor wheel doesn’t like the fuel mixture in it. The alternative is a blow through where the turbo blows into the carb. But, with that setup you need more stuff since the fuel has to fight against boost pressure to get into the carb.

i'd suggest putting the carb after the turbo, will help with reliability
@DoctorMotorcycle8 ай бұрын
No, it won't, blow through turbo setups are way less reliable than draw-thru's. They are much more complex to get dialed in and can be finicky with large weather changes, If the float in the carb sticks, it floods the engine with fuel and you're stranded. I've ridden over 20,000 street miles on draw-thru turbo setups, haven't been left standing on the side of the road a single time. 👍
@My_Gaming_Mind8 ай бұрын
@@DoctorMotorcycle ah, well i'm not really familiar with turbo carb engines, thought since the charge isn't flowing through the turbo it won't cause any seals to fail(was also thinking the fuel will gunk up the turbo, which is stupid ik -_-), but since it doesn't have rubber seals it'll be fine, now thinking about it, the charge will also clean the cold side and it'll have better atomization too. Yup, i was wrong on so many levels lol. love your vids tho, could you please also ride reviews of the bikes you build, the short section isn't enough
