Koreans are very meticulous on what they put in their skin. Most of them are educated cause people in Korea likes skincare. And in that effect companies have no choice but to give better ingredients with a competitive price. Unlike in the US where most cheap skincare won’t even come close to a cheap skincare from Korea . So I won’t say they are just the same.
@zualapips16386 жыл бұрын

As someone who's very particular about ingredients in all my products due to allergies, I can guarantee that the actual ingredient range/quality of everyday commercial Korean skincare products is far better than American ones. Additionally, American skincare is much harsher on the skin, especially cleansers. However, there definitely is also a difference in how Koreans use products as opposed to Americans. Korean skincare is far more centered on getting to the root of your skin concerns and finding a routine that completely prevents you from getting skin troubles in the first place, so long as you're consistent. American skincare is centered on cleaning up after you get skin trouble. Excessive spot treatment, skin-depleting cleansers, and physical exfoliation are three things I see Americans do a lot which only hurts their skin more. Both American skincare products and routines are lacking quite a lot, compared to Korean unfortunately.
@jaimeguadiana19606 жыл бұрын
Jero boiiiiii what are you talking about , korean skin care is more gentle than American an tbh Koreans take good care of there skin ... In America what there are trying to do is burn the acne to get rid of it witch means using alcohol witch can also make it more red and inflamed making it look worse , as for korean they tend to get rid of it by cleaning it throughly and using natural products and more non irritant ingredients

Fazerella. I usually wash my face with face cleanser (cold water only, or luke warm water if its too cold *as in weather*), use toner (bc they help with closing pores), and then use serum. And i do this every day and night. Every three nights, i use a facial steamer but only after washing my face and then use the toner and serum. And i never ever wash my face after or during shower, only before it bc the steam opens up my pores which can lead to more acne and more visible pores. Not sure if this is helpful or if you even care but doing this for two years has really helped me and i rarely ever get acne.

If we are supposed to see a dermatologist regularly (at least annually), why is dermatology not covered by insurance? It is considered a vanity issue, rather than skin healthcare. Dermatologists always say to see a dermatologist for your acne or to take care of pimples, blackheads, cysts, etc, but that just isn't reasonable or even possible for the majority of the population bc it would all be out of pocket. Not everyone can just see a dermatologist for every little thing, so we need more thorough answers. This video didn't fully answer any of the questions or explain any reasoning.

Well aren't you all lucky your insurance covers it. It has never been covered for me, even with private pay insurance. I get horrible cystic acne along my jawline and it hurts SOOO bad and there is nothing I can do about it bc I cannot see a dermatologist to have it lanced. Visine doesn't help, ice or cold packs do not help, warm compresses do not help, bc they are just too deep. I always end up with scars bc my skin swells so much around it. Nearly 37 years old and I still get breakouts. Damn hormones & acne prone oily/combination skin. I did a search from my insurance provider and there are no dermatologists accepting new patients within 60 miles of me. And of course I do not take advice from Buzzfeed! I do my own research on a variety of websites. I just commented based on the information provided in the video bc it seems a little ridiculous.

As an Esthetician I disagree with a bunch of this. One example is you saying masks don't do anything because they are not on the skin for very long... @cannsmith6 жыл бұрын
As an Esthetician as well I hate toners they often dry out the skin and given that most good quality cleansers and moisturizers are already Ph balanced they are becoming obsolete. And they are referring to face masks how most of the uneducated public uses them not us, which is cleansing and then throwing on a face mask with nothing after and calling it a facial. But the comment about cetaphil was hilarious so much education to still be a freaking moron
@margaritanoir6 жыл бұрын
The doctors are ofc actually right in the sense that masks are barely absorbed by the skin. Its just the outer layers that benefit. So if someone has a deeper problem like cystic acne, masks might better be avoided because they wont do anything for the deeper issue but might clog the pores.. unless its a tea tree mask or something more specialized, I wouldnt even try.. any rich texture is a nightmare for deep inner pimples!
@tina83156 жыл бұрын
margaritanoir I watch those Korean beauty videos and a lot of them think it’s their holy grail. I started using sheet masks but I don’t think it’s worth it. They’re so expensive and only for one time use. So when they label their masks as anti aging, or reduces pores, you really have to use them a long time to probably notice the difference. You have to keep buying the products. I think using serums with those benefits might be more worth the money and time.
@margaritanoir6 жыл бұрын
tina Yes, I meant these doctors are right that masks dont work so I wrote why since it wasnt explained in video..(asked my dermatologist) masks basically hydrate the outer skin and that's it.. Many Korean brands are owned by American companies and the formulas are the same.. And apparently many Korean youtubers arent honest.. I recently got tricked by one who made me think shes a legit Korean skincare guru and then produced a video capitalising on the fact she shares the same name and similar look with the real person.. She has acne skin and unsurprisingly gave me advice that suddenly broke me out worse than ever!!!!!! 😭😭 thats why I went to a dermatologist. Make sure you use the double cleanse method and exfoliate. You can’t minimise them, only appear smaller
@internetuser7776 жыл бұрын
exfoliating will make them appear larger. i’m sorry to go against what everybody says online but face scrubs just break down and thin out your skin, which will eventually cause you to age badly. i also read that if you have acne, the last thing you want to do is use a scrub. i guess it’s acceptable if the weather is cold and you need to get rid of some chapped dry dead skin, but other than that you don’t need to exfoliate.
@CMAV82026 жыл бұрын
@@internetuser777 I don't mean a scrub, I refuse to use a scrub and never recommend it. Chemical exfoliation is the best, with either a BHA or AHA. BHA (salicylic acid) is best to unclog and get rid of dirt in pores and good for acne and oily skin. But yes, it's impossible for pores to be smaller, but making sure there's no dirt or pores not clogged, they only look smaller

@kairallison6 жыл бұрын
the muscles are. organs aren't. ever done a dissection? the organs in the abdomen are attached to each other but that's it. if you remove the epidermis from the stomach and flip/lift the body, the organs fall out of the body cavity and dangle from each other and the body. there are a few weak tissues connected to the organs to keep them floating in the right location but enough weight pushing too far in any direction and they tend to rip. organs are pretty much suspended in the body cavity. your muscles stay nice and firm to the bone (my original comment is about organs and never said anything about muscles). organs would flop all over the place though and be dragging on the floor if you didn't hold them. not sure about the circulatory system though. and there would definitely be body fluids everywhere without skin. your organs aren't suspended in air after all. I was the lord of dissections in high school. i was always thorough when it came to labeling and exploring the body. i was the only one to ever get a perfect score plus bonus marks on dissections. be it a rat, a fetal pig, or a human. our organs are just floating away inside us. chilling in our body fluids doing their organy jobs.

I’ve been reading a book about the skin and it was written by a dermatologist. There is a sunscreen with high amounts of zinc in it which is really good to help protect it. It’s called Solbar Zinc and not that expensive. Has really good reviews! Haven’t gotten to buy it yet, but definitely will! Also says in the book that creams with retinal and such things like that can’t really be absorbed in the skin because our skin can only absorb molecules smaller than water molecules. So don’t waste your money on those expensive creams! Sunscreen is very very important! I’m still reading and have a lot more to learn, but hopefully this helped someone out there.

I have rosacea and I use tretinoin for it (prescription only in my country), I've seen improvement but it took a long time to see anything, close to a year of using 0.02% tretinoin once a week. I suppose you could see improvement quicker if you either took a higher concentration, used it more than once a week or did both. For some reason something in the Mizon all in one snail repair cream does a lot to minimize the redness. I don't know if it's the snail in the cream or something else. YMMV.

Ah yeah, I have rosacea. I went to see a dermatologist and she prescribed 0.75% "Rozex" which I was told to use every other night. I've been using it for 3 months now and I've definitely seen huge improvements in my skin. I don't have many breakouts anymore and any pimple that does pop up tends to go away much quicker too. So my advice is to give a dermatologist a visit, it Rlly does help but you need to make sure you go to a reliable one (it costs a lot but it's worth it if it means your skin gets better)

This worked so well for me. So what I did was 1. Wash my face before I go to school with acne treatment. 2. Use a benzoyl peroxide solution 3. Use lotion ONLY IF NEEDED After school: 4. Take makeup off 5. Wash face with acne treatment 6. Use a benzoyl peroxide solution 7. Use lotion ONLY IF NEEDED Do this straight after u get home Before u go to bed: 8: take Neosporin and rub a thin layer into skin like a lotion 9. Take a lot more Neosporin and glob a huge amount all over face 10. Sleep preferably on back when you can’t rub all of it off 11. In the morning rub remaining Neosporin into skin (if u used enough u should have some left on) Repeat This works because acne is basically an infection on ur skin and Neosporin helps heal infections ie: cuts scrapes burns minor infections. It won’t work completely on the first day but after a week I had baby soft skin and no acne. This also helps with dry skin, patchy skin scarring and scabs. If ur reading this please try it and share it with others as I will do the same.

Wait aren’t toners more for balancing ph levels and such ?? For example after you cleanse your face most cleansers have more or less of what your skin should really be at like ph and acidic levels so that’s why you use a toner after you use a cleanser to balance it back out .
@SyneadToomeyMusic6 жыл бұрын
I thought the same or for adding hydration, depending on the toner
@carolynbaird51716 жыл бұрын
Yeah your skin is very neutral in terms of ph and soup is more basic so when you wash your face you’re throwing off the pH balance. Toners are more acidic so they take your skin back to neutral after you wash it. I’m currently in cosmetology school and we learned all about skin care. Toners are important.
@goshdag89326 жыл бұрын
gentle cleansers usually are ph balanced, (which is what they've highly recommended using throughout the video) so there'd be no need to rebalance your skin after washing it. if you're using a harsher cleanser then yes, you would probably have to use a gentle toner to restore ph levels.
@xladylainex6 жыл бұрын
Toners serve different purposes. They ware talking about astringents specifically. However, depending on the formulation a toner can strip your skins barrier, or balance pH, or hydrate, or even have calming and healing ingredients to treat a skin condition. All toners are not the same and should be selected based on that specific person’s skin care needs. These doctors were using blanket statements to talk about everything.
@BrittanyYoungMakeupChannel6 жыл бұрын
Carolyn Baird the skin is actually really acidic. It is a 4.5 - 5.5. Cleansers are sometimes (not all the time) alkaline based and toners are more acidic to bring the skins balance back down.

First off cetaphil is a terrible product and the worst cleanser in my experience. Im not a sensitive skin person, but using it for the first time my face felt like it was burning and it dried up my face so bad. Korean products are waaay gentler and much more effective than any western ones because it’s more nourishing. I used neutrogena one week and it broke out my skin. But one week of Korean products and my face was glowing and clear. They may be dermatologists but seeing first hand the results from both types of products and having a routine vs not, trumps whatever they want to say. Face masks are a quick fix for a problem you may have a certain week or day like dullness, dryness, etc. Not a permanent solution because obviously we’re all going to age and we’ll have breakouts from time to time. But I guarantee anyone who starts using a skin routine you WILL see a difference.

Companies that suggest their toners close or minimise pores do it as a marketing scam. They will purposely include drying alcohols to make it to seem the pores are closing. They talk generally as in any face mask or any serum from any over the counter product will work which has been scientifically proven to be not the case. Any over the counter product is legally not allowed to hit under the stratum corneum or your surface layer. That includes any anti aging product so you're wasting your money. I appreciate dermatologists and what they do but I see this just as an ad for them. They don't give any good alternative solutions.

So one thing I noticed right from the start is the fact that 'Face masks don't really work.'. What they mean is those little sheet masks that are trendy right now that do nothing more than moisturize - which is COMPLETELY true. However, they discarded face masks that you apply like a cleanser but leave it on. One that I can think of immediately is the Aztec Indian Healing Clay. That is a face mask that seeps deep into your pores and doesn't just lay on top of your skin like the sheets do. In conclusion, when buying face masks, look for ones that you *apply,* not *place.*
