Expert Tips for Instant Wisdom Tooth Pain Relief at Home | Doctor Upasana

This is Part 1 of a 3 part series video, where I will be talking about wisdom tooth pain, what to expect when you visit the dentist for wisdom tooth pain, and what to do after extraction of your problematic wisdom tooth!
Wisdom Tooth pain can be excruciating and debilitating. In this video, I have explained the cause of this pain and 5 home remedies or tips to to give you some relief from the pain. However, a visit to your dentist is a must to get a proper treatment plan.
What do I use to shoot my videos?

first off, Im so glad to have found this video, as i’m currently undergoing excruciating pain right this moment at 12:22 AM. 😢 I actually have a cosmetic sponge in my mouth and it’s such a relief. my remedy has only been a shot of patron every 4-5 hrs or so. I have been having this Chronic pericoronitis for the last 3 years. Recently i was busy and i did not clean my teeth for 5 consecutive days. The pain came in & its seriously disturbing. It has happened to me before & it stops if you practice good oral hygiene. It takes a bit of time once you start cleaning and irrigating the area with water. Doctor is right, the process is slow but it works. My combination is 2x Ibuprofen per day + salt water rinses multiple times a day. Hopefully it will work again. Fingers crossed. Follow what the doctor said. Good video.

Thank you so much doctor for your tips on controlling wisdom tooth pain. Am having aches too but it's not constant. It happens sometimes during the day and often at night. Whenever it aches I eat a very small piece of ice from that side and the pain goes away temporarily. I have no swelling externally, neither bleeding or infections. And I can feel my tooth coming out slowly. So should I visit a dentist for a checkup? Or I can handle it by myself?

Hello! I am 18 and I think my wisdom teeth started growing in in February this year because before that, i didn't have any sort of toothache or swollen red gums. The pain is so excruciating that it keeps me up at night, I'm unable to do anything and can barely focus on simple tasks. I went to the dentist 2 months ago and he said that my wisdom teeth are growing in but at that time, I could only see white specks but now the crown of the teeth is visible. The pain is so bad that I can't even open my mouth and I'm having difficulty to talk. I have jaw pain and the pain seems to have spread towards the back of my throat (left side only) and I'm having trouble swallowing too. However, thanks for the tips, I'll try these out for sure!

Also I took some painkillers that day when the pain was unbearable and the pain subsided a lot the next day but what problem im facing now is that, whenever I'm chewing food, the upper jaw tooth(my wisdom teeth in my upper jaw has completely grown in) is poking my gums resulting in pain whenever I close my pain or chew food and so I have swollen gums again. Hi. It's normal for it to start erupting at your age. So don't panic, it's all normal. Just keep following the tips that I've shared and visit your Dentist if things worsen.

Hi. You can try sleeping on an extra pillow to keep your head elevated for relief in swelling. Also, if advil hasn't helped then I think you require a course of antibiotics and also some potent anti-inflammatory drugs. Please visit a Dentist and get an X Ray done at the earliest. TC!

Thank You Doctor , your tips I am sure will help, I have not put my Toothbrush in hot water beforeuse as I use an Electric one. I have found that putting a Hot Flannel against my face where there is severe pain has helped, I am 83 and have always looked after my teeth an made regular Dental Visits , so I am disappointed to have this problem at my age ? terrible tooth ache plus hearing problems, but there it is, My Detist has referred me to our General Hospital for them to take this wisdom tooth out if it has to be done, he has also taken a full Mouth X Ray for miself and The Hospital . thank You , Have a great Day.

I have infected wisdom teeth. Doc suggested me to either remove all the 4 wisdom teeth at a time or two at a time. I am a bit scared.😔 What would you suggest mam?

@@DoctorUpasana yes today itself they did it in few mins.. It's actually from Cloves dental clinic... Since I have a family function, doc prescribed pain killers and advised me not to take more. I don't have any pain in my left side. But they also have been infected. In the rigjt side, I have severe pain and they have been severely infected. So, she said either I can do all at a time or only the left side.. I am a bit confused. One more clarification. I am handling pronunciation classes. If I remove all the four, will it affect my pronunciation ( the way I talk) I am a little confused and scared doctor♥️ pain is there now But I am managing it with salt water and ice pack outside.

Hey! Did you start with antibiotics? If it recurrs frequently then it's best to consider a permanent solution like extraction.

This is my first experience with wisdom tooth pain. Went to dentist last week because of mild pain. The tooth has an old large filling and a newer small filling which won’t stay in. So it needs to be extracted. The dental office called and I have to have a consultation first and the soonest is a “MONTH “. I can’t even touch the tooth with my finger as it hurts. At dinner time this evening the pain went through the roof. I’m going to try swishing with the very warm salt water. This pain is so unbearable. Thank you to whoever may read this. I thought it might help talking about this. I’m calling the dentist office tomorrow and talk to who ever is on call. I can’t deal with this pain. I guess there’s no sleep tonight. 😢😞😵‍💫🤢😮‍💨😫😞😢😭😭😭

Thanks a lot, Dr. I couldn't sleep due to the pain so I started searching for wisdom teeth pain treatment, and thankfully I landed on this one and I tried 3 of the steps and it's kinda given me relief but after I did the saline solution my gums around my molar teeth started bleeding is it expected or should I be concerned?

Hi!! I'm glad this was helpful to you!! Bleeding might be transient. So don't bother too much unless it doesn't stop bleeding by itself or keeps oozing all the time. In that case, pls apply an ice pack from outside (cheek). Or its even better to visit your Dentist.

1) Pain will keep recurring unless you great it permanently. There are various ways to treat this pain, but the last resort is extraction. 2) Wisdom teeth are most likely impacted. Meaning, they don't have enought space to grow or errupt in the oral cavity. It's different case to case and the best way to check is by taking X Rays. 3) Yes, you can have cold foods as long as it doesn't hurt you. TC!

Hi. You need to take a course of antibiotics as you have developed a swelling. It's best to visit your Dentist and let them have a look. Don't ignore the swelling, if it increases it can be very difficult to deal with. The doctor may not advise you to extract the tooth as you are just 19. We can wait for a couple of years and wait for it to grow out a bit. Untill then, follow all the tips that I've shared in the video. TC!

Hi! The pain can last for many days or even weeks if not treated well and you may need antibiotics too. Extraction/removal is one of the last resort of treatment. There are few other options too that can give you pain relief temporarily. But, you need to understand that the pain will keep coming back untill you treat it permanently by extraction of the tooth.

Doctor you're wrong, not in every case at the age of 18 to 24 .. now I'm 29 years old still I'm facing this problem and can't sleep can't swallow saliva and that I'm talking about only one side of lower wisdom tooth but another side is not yet coming out and I'm 29 years 😢now it's depends on person to person 🦷 But thanks for the tips

The tooth won't erupt more than it has after 24 but the symptoms can start anytime. Can be at 29 or even 50! It's nice how confidently you're challenging a Dentist 😂

One thing more i added which we use in childhood. Put 10 drops sunflower oil on your palm, mix 1/4 tea spoon salt. Use around on your gum or teeth where pain.
