Jack was the only good part of Chibnal's run. I would also say the new Master was a highlight, since I loved the actor's portrayal, but it felt like the entire season of character development that the Master had as Missy was just obliterated, as if it never happened. So I could never quite get behind the new, fully evil, Master. We can of course pretend that this Master is an incarnation prior to Missy, but I think that's giving Chibnal way too much credit.

Ironically, this has been the only episode of Dr. Who I've seen when it comes to 13 (I've seen almost every other episode since its revival in 2005). I was just bored one Saturday night and decided the watch Dr. Who and it turned out to be this episode, and I just smiled when Captain Jack returned. Hopefully he is in the next series.

I would suggest watching season 11 and 12 my man. Jodie really brings a joy to the role none of the last few have had. Like they had fun with the role but it was always to mask the darkness of the doctor so to speak. But Jodie has a joy that helps me to enjoy the series. And demons of the Punjab felt like an actual classic doctor who episodes where it's just humans and the doctor can't do anything but watch everything happen. It was a pretty heartbreaking episode. And graham is just so precious too in every scene.

I know we all love Jack's theme and music related to him and Torchwood, and I know it would of been awesome to hear it here.... but wow this is SUCH A SICK TRACK! Literally the best Segun has made in his tenure as composer! The only other track that is as good as this is his new arrangement of the Doctor Who theme! (I enjoy some tracks from Rosa, Kerblaam and Demons of the Punjab, but they're 2nd tier). This track was used soo well for the return of a beloved character, I feel like it should become a returning motif throughout Segun's Era, not for Captain Jack, but for everytime we get a big returning companion! How cool would it be to generate the same feelings of hype, nostalgia and love by only using this track for reintroductions of characters like Martha, River, Ace, Kate Stewart, NADRIE etc. It would just be a great way to evoke the same emotions we all felt when Jack surprised us, just saying... it would be awesome! ;D

It was supposed to have some final stuff with the eleventh doctor but she wasn't able to film after a certain point so they were allowed to release I think like 6 episodes post that were filmed prior to her death. From what I remember it was cancer.

I'm still trying to understand what this scene actually accomplished. What did Jack actually do in this Ep, besides creating some buzz outside of the story? He popped in, spouted some vague foredhadowing which changed nothing, and got out. His scenes were him either talking jibberish of winking at the past. I want Billie Piper to be the next Doctor. Yes, correct. Billie Piper as The Doctor, not as Rose. The story reason for this is, she has that Bad Wolf connection with the Tardis anyway, so it is possible, that the Doctor reincarnates in the shape of Rose. Special feature could be, that every reflective surface talked back to him as Rose. (Just like the Green Goblin to John Osbourne in Spiderman)
