Wow, I;m was blown away (old guy's terminology) You are the best, young man. Teaching the nature of the tools, separates you from the pack. I just need to practice and watch several times. Then the techniques will be part of my palette for all sorts of stuff. thank you thank you...

I've been watching Photoshop tutorial videos for a long time and stopped because I wasn't learning much new information. After cruising through some suggested videos I landed on your channel. Your videos are so much more advanced and concept oriented than many of the others I've run into, it's really refreshing to see this level of applied concepts being taught. It builds on the more obscure information I've already required, but it doesn't leave me in the dark on some of the newer stuff. Good Job! Subscription earned. Between PiXimperfect and Phlearn I'm actually learning again!

What a fantastic tutorial! For me, on this particular photo, altho the burning seems a little heavy handed, it's learning the technique to suit one's particular tastes that's most important. & that you have demonstrated wonderfully. Respect to you, sir! Well done!

You're doing some of the best videos in the Photoshop topic on KZbin! I just have a theoretical question regarding this technique: Applying a dodge curve and then removing it gradually from the dark regions using Blend-if isn't the same as if you were creating that dodge curve and were pushing back the darker regions of the curve to gradually meet the 45° line?
@Sandra_aschenbach_doyle3 жыл бұрын
You are unique among your Kind on KZbin. Brillant Stuff.the way you explain these thigs so easy is amazing each tuime. Phhotoshop is sometimes really weirdly built and hard to get for new people. Photography in general with all the terms and settings in digital editing are hella frightening and confusing because so many things lead to the same thing. the way you teah basic color knowledge on the side is just the proverbial cherry on top. I sincerly wish i could explain this stuff even to a fraction of your skill-level to people. My rRespect

Great tut!!! Best one of yours!!! One tip I haven't tried yet but just an idea. I think you should be able to get the burn layer simply by subtracting Dodge layer from Normal layer. You should be able to get that by having Normal layer below the Dodge layer and change layer properties to "subtract". Am I missing something here?

You are a phenomenal teacher! I assume that you overdid the effect for demonstration purposes, because as it is now, it makes the model look almost like a dirty plastic doll. It is of course a matter of preference, but to me it just seems such a shame spend time on studio lighting and getting a beautiful model, only to make her look unnatural, but regardless: you are awesome! Keep the tips coming! I just subscribed!
